25 Harbinger

Sam and Drew looked behind them and watched as the ghost vanished from sight. "How the hell did a gun work?!" Drew asked. "Also, where did you get a gun?!"

"Alex, had it." Terry explained. "We need to get her to a doctor, like now. She got stabbed really bad by that ghost. I put her outside for safety."

"We are moving as fast as we can Terry, Drew can't use his leg." Sam explained as they got back up off the ground. Terry rushed over and threw Drew over his shoulder, as he had done to Alex previously.

"Um Terry, not that I mind the ride." Drew said. "But where did your shirt go?"

"Terry used it to plug the hole in Alex's chest." Terry explained. "Now let's get out of here before that ghost comes back!" Terry started to run towards the broken window he had used early to escape. Sam followed after him.

"Terry, where were you earlier?!" Sam asked while they ran. "We were so worried about you!"

"Sorry, I saw an exit and decided it would be best to run to town for help." Terry explained. "When I left, I dropped my radio and it broke, sorry."

"That's alright buddy!" Drew patted Terry on the back as he ran. "You came back for us, that's the important thing."

They reached the window without incident and Terry lowered Drew out of it onto the ground. Sam climbed out after that followed by Terry. Sam picked Alex up and Terry got Drew, they walked around the building and got back inside their van. Drew pulled out his cellphone and brought up the closest hospital. "Looks like twenty-five miles, you need to go as quickly as you can Terry."

They all got in the van and Terry floored it out of the area, leaving a cloud of dust in his wake. He pushed the van to its limits of speed, but luckily, he was not pulled over by any cops. As he pulled up to the emergency room he rushed out of the door and grabbed Alex from the back. He carried her inside. Sam helped Drew hobble in as well.

The ER nurses and doctors ran to them. "What happened!?" The doctors asked.

"You wouldn't believe us if we told you." Drew laughed. "Let's just say she was stabbed, and I was as well."

The medical personnel took Alex from Terry's arms and placed her on a stretcher. They rolled her into an operating room and went to work. More doctors picked Drew up with a wheelchair and wheeled him into a side room. Terry and Sam were asked to wait outside in the waiting room. They were told not to go anywhere, because the police would have questions.

As they sat in the waiting room Terry got nervous, afraid they would blame him for the stabbing. He did not think the police would believe the truth. Sam noticed his fear and placed her arm around him. "It's going to be okay Terry," she said, "the doctors know what they are doing, and I am sure both of them will be fine."

Meanwhile back at the abandoned hospital a familiar faceless girl was standing outside the entrance. With a flick of her wrist the doors flew open and she walked inside. She made her way down to the basement, where Drew and Sam had discovered all of those skeletons. As she walked there the sound of metal scrapped along the wall after her. She was undeterred by the noise and continued her journey.

The ghost appeared in front of her and raised its machete to strike her. She reached her hand out and stabbed it through the ghost's abdomen. The ghost winced in pain and stopped his assault, he attempted to move but could not. He tried to disappear, but that too was impossible. From the girl's hand black tendrils began to wrap themselves around his body. Gradually they crushed and squeezed him until he was transformed into a small black ball held within the girl's hand. Her face once again became a giant mouth, and she popped the black orb inside and ate it.

Satisfied with her meal she continued her trip to the basement. As she arrived in the room, she found Hilda with a broom clearing the skeletons and dust from the floor. "My lady, I am so pleased you gave me the time I needed to clean the room for you." Hilda said with a bow. "Did you enjoy your walk? I hear it is nice to stretch one's legs from time to time."

The little girl nodded in response and walked to the center of the room. She raised her arms above her head and an eerie green flame began to dance across the floor. As it danced the flame etched runes into the cement. When she finished the entire floor was covered with symbols and runes.

Hilda clapped excitedly at her master's achievement. "That is very well done my lady!" She praised. "Your flawless plan of using those idiots was brilliant I must say. Using them to travel to the areas you require was an inspired idea. Now after all these years you can complete your task, my lady. You can finally fulfill your role as the harbinger of hell."

Back at the hospital a detective approached Sam and Terry. "Ah, Paranormal is the new Normal, right?" He said with a smile. "That's one of my favorite shows. I watch it every time it comes on with my wife. We never miss a show."

Sam looked up at the officer and smiled. "Well it is always nice to meet a fan."

"So, do you two want to tell me what happened?" He asked. "The doctors tell me Drew told them they wouldn't believe it. Well we need to know something; we take stabbings very seriously around here."

"Well, we were filming an episode of our show in the old, abandoned hospital." Sam explained. "Drew fell through the floor, Terry and I split up, I found Drew and Terry found Alex laying in a pool of her own blood. He attempted to plug the hole with his shirt to keep her alive while we brought her here."

The officer looked at the two of them as if he were processing their story. He placed his hand on Terry's shoulder and smiled. "You're a real hero then Terry!" He said. "I always knew that fear on the show was just an act! Only thing to do now is wait for Alex to get out of surgery and find what stabbed her. I will be honest if you two, we have had many missing persons show up stabbed to death there. She is the first one to come back alive and it is all thanks to your heroism. We will be able to put a lot of cases to bed because of this. I really hope she saw who stabbed her."
