24 Where we left off

(Still mostly repeated from the first few chapters. Guess you could play spot the difference!)

"Umm, Cecilia, can we talk for a bit? It won't take too long!" "Sure, what is it?" Miya and I headed to my room to talk. I'm a hundred percent sure this will be about the question I asked her. "Well, about what you said this evening..," Ha! I'm spot on. "I talked with Kiyo about it, she told me she didn't want me to be stuck in this village for the rest of my life." "So, you want to leave?" It was a rhetorical question, I could already guess the answer. "Uh.. Kiyo told me it was a good idea." I was a bit annoyed, she was pushing the weight of her decision on her friend. I suppose you can't blame her, since she was always expected to listen to the townspeople's orders. "Anyways! Cecilia, when do you plan to leave?" "To be honest, I was going to leave early tomorrow morning..." "That soon!?" Miya said with a hilarious, shocked expression. "Haha, I can leave a bit later if you need some time to decide." "So you're okay with me tagging along?" "Yep, having a companion would make traveling more interesting." "I didn't think you would agree so easily. Don't worry! I won't take too long, I'll decide if I have the conviction to go traveling by tomorrow morning!"

I joined Kiyo for breakfast. Miya wasn't here yet, I wonder if she told Kiyo about our conversation last night. "Hey... I'm planning on leaving today." After getting Kiyo's attention I continued speaking. "I was hoping you could help me find a place for my next destination." I needed to find a way to bring up Miya to know if Kiyo knows Miya will most likely leave with me. "Alright, I'll help you find a place to travel to," Kiyo answered. The front door creaked open. Miya was here together with Lyla. "Everyone is together! That makes it easier. Last night I decided we should all travel together, I already asked Kiyo and Lyla, they both agreed to it. We've always stuck together so I decided we should all leave the village together. Is it going to be difficult to travel in a group of four?" Traveling in a larger group could be safer. "Don't worry about it. It'll be nice to travel with more people." So it was decided the four of us would leave together.

"Great! When should we leave?" Miya asked. "Anytime is fine but, it's better to get an early start," I answered "Alright then, let's meet at the edge of the town where the small gate is, at the tenth hour."

Miya and Lyla left to go pack up. "Kiyo, do you know what time it is right now?" "Just past eight hour," she replied after looking at a strange circular object. When it was close to the tenth hour Kiyo called me down. We walked toward the edge of the town to meet up with the other two. The three of them each had a small bag with them. "Anything important we should go over before leaving?" Nobody spoke. "Alright then," I looked towards Kiyo, "Lead the way!" Kiyo took out a rough sketch of the land near this village, there was a line drawn over the mountain range that ended at a circled area. Kiyo pointed towards the mountains. "We'll have to spend a night in the mountains, it'll take around three days to get to our destination. "With that said, Kiyo started walking ahead. I saw Miya's eyes sparkle with anticipation. Hopefully my luck doesn't run out during this trip.

...

(There's nothing big I wanted to change for the travelling bit. So I just skipped over it.)

The last three day flew past in a flash. Before we knew it, we could already see buildings in the distance.
