18 Time to Return

It was getting a bit late and the weather forecast stated it would rain tonight. I started walking faster. After getting home I made myself a cup of coffee. 'I might have to stay up the whole night researching today.' Good thing I could use needing to rest because I just recovered from coma, as an excuse to skip work the next few days.

I knew I wouldn't be able to find any information on the 'other world' because other than the humans and houses that resembled medieval buildings, there were too many things that were completely different from earth. If that was a parallel world, then the choices that were made there must have been very different from earth's. (Referring to the theory that a new parallel universe is made every time a choice is made.) I continued reaserching on multiverses.

It was close to midnight, when suddenly I heard something fall from my workroom. When I walked in, I saw a blue light. It was that metal ball I used as the Worlds Gate's core. Looks like I won't have to go through the trouble of building another Worlds Gate. I grabbed the core and my car keys and headed out. I needed to find somewhere no one would be able to find me. A cliff was fenced off recently due to being a hazard. I parked my car. The fence wasn't too high so I was able to climb over it. As I stood on the edge of the cliff, I spaced out. 'Déjà vu.' Or maybe it was paramnesia. "Hey what's that light over there?!" S**t! I forgot I was holding the brightly shining core. I panicked while I heard people running towards me and lost my footing.
