17 Doesn’t Exist

I changed my clothes and quietly walked out the hospital. It's the afternoon right now and the hospital is quite busy so no one noticed me sneaking out. I called a taxi and got home. As I walked into my living room, a wave of melancholy hit me. This place really brings back a lot of memories. I walked towards my workroom. As I looked into my workroom, I could feel my heart pounding. I couldn't breath. I tried to slow down my breathing but, it only made my chest start hurting. 'What's going on!' I wanted to scream. I thought I was about to faint when suddenly, it stopped. My heart was still beating very quickly. I covered my nose and mouth with my hands to slow down my breathing. But, I could see clearly now. That huge machine I spent five years of my life on was gone.

I tried not to panic as I dug through every drawer, notebook and box while looking for anything that I could have written about the Worlds Gate on. Nothing. From the piles of blueprints to the pages in my old diaries. Not a word. Anything that had to do with the Worlds Gate vanished together with it. It no longer exists. I didn't want myself to fall back into the state I was just in, so I ran out of the house. The only place I could think to go at the moment was a local bar. I didn't enjoy drinking. But at the moment it was the only thing that could calm me down. Drink and eat your worries away! I probably sound like an old man. Red wine together with a steak, it's probably one of the most well known combos. After I finished my dinner I felt a lot better and was ready to rethink my situation.
