32 Disappearance

We walked into the village. "I'm quite hungry, let's get some food first!" I ran up to the nearest food stall. "Can I get a wheat cakes with fruits and syrup?" I could sense Rian's stare. "Sorry! Could I get two?" I feel like I'm being fined. "It's rare to see children traveling nowadays. Have a nice day!" The lady at the stand handed me the wheat cakes. "Thanks!" I took a wheat cake and walked further into town. This town was a lot larger than the previous two, where we were at now was the least packed section of the town. I noticed a run down church. "That's a good place," I said while dragging Rian in with me.

Once I finished checking around for people I began telling my story. Of course, I didn't tell the truth about everything, but I tried not to lie too much. I left out everything about building the World's Gate and just said I got to this world using the core that a stranger gave me. I also didn't say a word about my prophetic dreams.

By the time I was finished, it was getting late. I rented a room at an inn and Rian agreed to sleep on the floor. I was very tired from travelling. Within the next few minutes, I felt my eye slowly closing and my mind slowly drifting. Before I fell asleep, I looked over at Rian who was sound asleep. In that moment I thought Rian was actually a bit cute.

"Wake up! VmFsZXJpYW4=! You're going to be late!" "Wait, who are you? Who was I just waking up?" "Right! Mother's coming home today! I have to go greet her.. Was this always here? A memorial? Whose?"

I woke up. I looked at the time reader. 'That's strange, Rian should have woken me up.' Something was off. I started getting dressed. The core was missing. I looked over at the neatly folded blankets. "Excuse me! Did a young boy with white hair leave this morning?" "Yep, I think I saw a boy leave very early in the morning, he talked with the lady at the counter before leaving." I ran over to the counter. "You're Ms. Cecilia right? I have a letter for you."
