38 Blue Fire

As I watched the boy get closer to the marching band, I had a feeling of uneasiness, so I ran forward and pulled the boy back. "Hey! What are you..." A loud blast interrupted him. For a just a few seconds, I saw a blue flame. "Quickly! Put out the fire!" People started panicking and soilders rushed to get water. 'This is bad!' "Go make sure the queen's carriage isn't unguarded!" "Why? What's wrong?" "Just go!" I forced the boy to go guard the carriage. Soilders ran over to the carriage to stop the him from getting too close. One of the soilders running towards the carriage was shot by an arrow. 'I knew it! This was an assassination attempt. The fire was meant to be a distraction to make the soilders leave the queen's side. Since the fire was blue, a chemical was used to ignite it, the blue only lasted until the chemical ran out. If it was a terrorist attack then they would have set off multiple explosions and used an easier to acquire chemical.

The assassins quickly and easily got away since the panicking townspeople were an easy cover. I felt something close to my neck. "How did you know about the assassination attempt," the boy spoke in an icy cold tone while pointing a sword to my neck. "How ungentlemanly, I just saved the queen's life you know?"
