18 Swelling Hatred

After killing the Cheerleaders, Chen'an left the sandpit in the direction of the high jumpers. Jiang Min pulled Gao Tianjie along and followed Chen'an, a contented smile on her face.

Chen'an had rejected those girls from other classes!

Lu Gang was still dumbfounded at being called over by Chen'an. Before he could question his friend, he was dragged over to the high jumpers.

"What, one kind of jump isn't enough for you?"

"Exactly. And why not?"

"Yes, but look at that sports student. He seems to be packing up already."

Taken aback, Chen'an turned around and saw the sports student packing up his jumping equipment in a hurry.

No–it wasn't time for a break yet. How dare he slack off?

"Hey, why are you leaving when you haven't even practiced your high jump?" Chen'an rushed forward and pulled the sports student back.

The sports student had personally witnessed Chen'an defeat Pan Yuguan and Gao Chao. When he saw Chen'an walking towards him, he decided to spare himself certain embarrassment and leave before he could be issued any sort of challenge. He hadn't expected that Chen'an would be so shameless as to approach him directly.

Chen'an didn't look like he was leaving anytime soon, so he blurted out desperately, "I stayed up too late jerking off. I'm not at my best today, so I'm resting earlier."

Chen'an blinked at him. You were shouting so enthusiastically during the race, now you're telling me you're too tired to train?

No–he wasn't having it. Even if he was telling the truth, Chen'an had to straighten him out. "Can't you just push on like a man?" he pressed.

"I'm still a boy, so, no. Sorry." The sports student ran off without looking back.

[Athlete Bao Kaisai received a shock from you. His current Lifeblood: -15]

Chen'an winced, at a loss for words, as a potential victim ran away from him.

The monsters in this dungeon were too smart. They actually knew to retreat before they lost too much Lifeblood! He had no choice but to select another target.

However, the sports students whose specialties lay on the track ran away as soon as Chen'an drew near. Only those sports students whose talents belonged on the field continued to train calmly. On the field, strength and skill were what mattered, and with Chen'an's slight frame, he was sure to lack at least the former. Naturally, they didn't panic–which suited Chen'an just fine, since he hadn't set his sights on them.

There weren't many monsters left to kill in the dungeon. Moreover, the forty-five minutes of gym class were almost over.

Unfortunately, most of Alpha Athlete's Lifeblood was still intact, even though the dungeon simulation was about to end. In fact, his health had recovered almost to its maximum level.

Dammit. This meant that the dungeon BOSS's Lifeblood automatically restored itself.

He decided to steer clear of his gym teacher before he had leveled up. Otherwise, he might be killed.

The bell rang, signifying the end of gym class.

[Congratulations on completing Micro Dungeon [Gym Class]. You have killed a total of 24 ordinary monsters, 4 special monsters, 2 elite monsters, and 0 leader monsters.]

[Main task: Completed]

[Number of side tasks completed: 6]

[Rate of increase in rewards, based on your performance: 60%]

[You have gained 100 experience points, 200 gold coins, and 1 (160%) micro dungeon treasure chest.]

The only pity was that he hadn't leveled up. He opened his updated attributes panel.

[Experience: 168/200]

If he had managed to kill more Athletes and Cheerleaders, he might be at Level 5 now. Currently, the only items available in the system store were Level 1 beginner potions. He estimated that the next time a new item would be opened was when he reached Level 5.

In addition, he had already earned 464 gold coins, which meant he could buy a total of 23 different bottles of potions.

So far, Chen'an hadn't tested the effects of a mini health potion, or a mini energy potion. There were too many people in school; he would have to wait till he was alone at noon.

He had been occupied this afternoon with the treasure chest, and tomorrow was Saturday, so he had to go home right after finishing his morning classes.

He would just have to test the potions at home.

The students reluctantly made their way back to class. When they passed by Chen'an, they all greeted him with a newfound respect. They knew he had stood up for Lu Gang earlier, raising Chen'an in their esteem. They had also witnessed how he had challenged the other sports students; Pan Yuguan had left too early, so Chen'an had taken out his frustration on his peers.

Who wouldn't want him on their side?

Chen'an smiled warmly at his classmates' enthusiasm.

When they reached the classroom, the teacher of their next lesson was already distributing their test papers. They spent the rest of the day going through their scripts. Other than his poor English and Chinese results, Chen'an was among the top fifteen students in his class. There were quite a number of stellar pupils in Class 37, so it was considered a decent ranking; his grades were stable.

Meanwhile, news of Chen'an's feats spread amongst the sports students–particularly his race with Pan Yuguan.

Pan Yuguan had been the catalyst for the whole incident, so he received many strange looks from his peers, especially since he had all but fled the field earlier. He fought not to wither under their scrutiny as his hatred for Chen'an swelled.

Finally, he stormed out of the sports hall, anger churning in his gut.

After he left, the other sports students exchanged confused glances. The bell had already rung; maybe he was going to the field to continue training?
