Too Much For One. 《2》

The bell rings at a distance that sounded to every room and everyone hears it. Including me. The exam's done. Well, I'm finished already and I just talked to the teacher if I could sleep in the classroom instead of going out but I couldn't even sleep. I just laid there with an unsung mind full of their own feelings.

Anyways, it's already 9:30 a.m.. It's the end of the first exam, end of my first part of eternal misery. We were given a 15-minute break between the two exams that day. But I spent it listening to Cathryn sharing to me about Deanna, Kate and Angelina

"Nate, I just really want to kill them. They made me suffer so much. They are pieces of shit. Two-faced." She said. Emphasizing the last few words with a smirk as we were heading down stairs to the cafeteria that's to the left of the building's entrance.

I just listened with an open hand and an open heart though my heart was holding in so much, I just took them and stuffed them in there. I didn't want her to feel the burden that only happened because of me. I would feel much more burdened because of that. It's my pain, why would she want to have to deal with it?

"Cath, you know what? That's okay though! Just tell them what you really feel, don't hide it. 'Cause it's just gonna get worse and worse by the minute." I told her as we entered the hall straight to the cafeteria.

"You're not wrong, but why does it always have to be me?" She asked again with a more intense mood. But hearing this, I only felt irritated. Not at them but at her.

"Listen, it doesn't matter who wants to be true the most, it's how much they can be true to you. For example: Working so hard for only a cent. It's not about the cent but it's about how you can get the cent. Why do this when you can make something else better for yourself. The cent isn't gonna get to you. You have to make sure that it doesn't go anywhere else rather than being yours." I said as we paid for our snacks and started to open them and ate a bit.

Then before Cathryn could speak, the bell ran and we had to rush to get to the room because this time, the teacher is much more worse.

We went in the room all messy from the snacks we ate and we made it in a knick of time before our next teacher could get there which she took about a couple of seconds just after we arrived.

Cath and I both looked at each other panting and we laughed a bit. After that, everything was silent and we were taking our 2nd and final exam of the day.

Minutea later, the bell rang. I looked at the clock on the upper left side of the wall of the speech laboratory and it read 10:45. We left our papers on each of the cubicles and left one row at a time.

After we went out. We saw our adviser waiting for us in the front of the classroom, sitting at the right side of it. And then it hit me. "Oh no, the poem recitaion." I said to Cathryn but of course she replied with "Oh yeah, I forgot. Well, it's okay. I've mastered it when I was two, haha." She said.

Then we froze in the middle of everyone at the doorway of the classroom. "Wait what?! I haven't even started to memorize the first out of five stanzas!" I replied looking constantly worried at both Cathryn and our teacher.

"Haha, it's okay, our teacher said we can perform it at 1 pm." "Really?" I asked in a much more lively and relieved manner than previously. So I went to the teacher to ask if it was allowed to perform later on at 1 pm. The teacher agreed and that saved my life a bit.

It was around 11:30 am, Cathryn went hone and we, Blythe, Luna, Kate, Angelina, Deanna and Rebecca decided to eat at a fast food chain near us.

As we entered, we sat down at the farthest left from the center, the table was a 7 seater rectangular table. They sat down by threes each side and I was the one sticking out to the side.

"The four winds listened long, to the shrieking of...." I said in a fixed tone while I closed my eyes tightly. "Wait, what? I forgot already!" I yelled out loud as I opened my eyes. "At least you've a line. We haven't even started." Deanna said with a mouthful who sat down at the farthest left from me.

"Nathan, can you order me a Coke? I'll pay you." Rebecca, who is one of my closest in the entire world, asked.

"Sure, no prob." I said then suddenly as I looked to the right, I saw a group. Then I thought they looked familiar so I kept staring at them. But once they got closer by the second, I realize that it's Kian's group of friends which was made of Luna's "boyfriend". I mean, they have feelings for each other but they're not together.

"Guys, Kian's here!" I shouted as I tapped Angelina and Rebecca's shoulder who were to my left and right. Then their eyes opened and they were shocked. "Wait what?" Kate said.

The people on my left had no problem seeing them because they were already facing the entrance. But for the three on my right, they twisted like a pretzel, especially Luna before they could see them.

The group went in and tried to find for the nearest vacant table, the others searched the whole place but Kian went over to us. "Nate! Why did you take our table?" He said in a joking matter. "Haha, aren't there anymore vacant in this place?" I replied to him as we went closer.

"Nope." He said as I felt something warm that was laid on my shoulder. Then it was Kian's hand.

My heart raced so fast. "No, don't" I said to myself. "Don't worry, we'll leave soon so you can use this instead!" I said to him while looking up more since he was so tall and I was just sitting down.

"Nate, what did you eat for lunch? He asked me. "Oh no, he must've seen that I have nothing on the table." I thought. "Uh... No...Thing?" I said a bit sorrily. "Tsk! Don't do that! You'll not be able to memorize properly. Do you want that?" He said while he looked at me straight in the eyes and let go of me.

"See? It's never gonna happen!" I thought to myself as my heart dropped.

"Nate! The Coke!" Rebecca said while she handed the cash to me. "What is it?" Kian said as he put his hand back. "Oh, nothing, I'll just order a coke." I said while almost trying to get up.

"Don't. I'll do it." He said. "Wait, no. It's okay." I replied as we were both standing up and now, it was him looking up at me. Yes, I'm taller than him by 2 inches.

"But, Leo(Luna's something) is already lining up, you don't want to get too far back in the, long, long line." He said with such a convincing look from his pretty eyes and emphasizing the words "long" through his beautiful voice and lips.

"Alright." I said. Then he put his right hand on my shoulder and he stuck his left hand out signaling for the money. "Here. Thank you. Really, really much." I said as I dropped the coins in.

Then I sat back down while looking at him walking so gently and laughing so pure. Looking so uniquely attractive. "The four winds listened long, to the shrieking of that song. Freedom!" I said as I closed my eyes facing the wall in front of me.

"I did it. I actually memorized it. He was right. I could do it better if I was full. Full of his love." I thought.

"Here, Nattie-Nate!" Kian said as he brought a tray and placed it in the middle of our table. "Oh, thank you!" I looked at him and patted his shoulder even though it was really high and I smiled at him, and he smiled back and held me again. I took the Coke and gave it to Rebecca. But there was another Coke with an apple pie in the tray.

"Hey, aren't you gonna get yours?" I said to Kian pointing out to the Coke and Apple Pie. "Oh these" He grabbed them and laughed. "Haha, I forgot." he added. "To give them to you." He added in the last second." Then I blushed

"What the hell are you blushing for?" I thought to myself.

"No, don't that's your money. It's yours." I said. "No you need it more, you didn't even eat lunch." He said while we reached them to me but I didn't grab them. "If you don't get this, it means you're handsome." He said. I had no choice but to take them while I blushed hard. Then Kian laughed.

"I'll just go with the flow." I thought.
