16 So Close But So Far.《3》

I entered the house quietly removing my shoes and putting to the side where the rest were. I put the bag of the spices Dad made me buy in our living room table. I went to his room and checked if he was still awake. He was laying down, snoring as always. I went to him and kissed him in the forehead and went out closing the door behind me silently. I then went to go my own world. In short, my room.

I laid my bag on the floor after getting my phone. I saw that there were 5 messages from Nathan, I laid on the bed and smiled, cheeks turning redder by the minute. I opened the messages app and immediately opened his texts.

"Hey. Are you home yet?"

"I guess not."

"Hey hey hey."

"Text me when you read this."

"Are you still there? Don't sleep yet."

They read. I just curled up in my blanket and smiled. My cheeks felt so hot.

"Hey, I'm back. What do you wanna tell me?" I replied with smiles painted across my whole face.

"They're still watchin' a movie, "Midnight Sun" They said so I just made a run for it. Didn't want to die. Haha." He replied.

"Haha. Good thing their parents are up to it." I said.

"Did you have fun earlier?" He asked me out of the blue.

"Yeah sure. I mean, I didn't die or anything. Haha." I replied.

"Haha. What time are you going to sleep?" He asked me.

"Don't really know. Probably around 2." I replied.

"2? I'm up to it!" He said. And there, I felt like nothing could go wrong. "Urgh." I sighed as I laid flat on the bed, smiling.

"What do you wanna do while we're still up" He added.

"Haha, I don't really know." I said with overjoyed emojis.

"Haha, what's with the laughs?" He said with more.

"Nothin'. I just feel bubbly right now." I said with a blushed smile emoji.

"Haha." He said with more.

"Can I share something with you?" He asked me.

"Anything, I'm willing to listen." I said with smilies.

"It's still very heavy..." He said in a reluctant manner.

"What's heavy?" I asked.

"It still gets to me, you know..... December..." He said. Then I realized that it was the same month as to when his Mother died.

"Oh... I'm really sorry about that." I replied.

(Nathan's POV)

"No, it's okay." I said.

"It's just that, I feel like everyone's been gone around me. Deanna and the rest have really been red flags lately and then, my family... They don't support me in anything I do. And they keep on degrading me until I've lost all my confidence but they still keep on going. Everyone's gone. My mom, my family, my friends. Please tell me you won't leave me." I said hesitantly.

Then suddenly, I felt my hands getting wet, I looked at them and they were tears.

"I hope you know that I really love you, Kian... " I typed.

"What are you thinking?!" I thought as I quickly erased it and wiping my tears off.

"Don't worry. I won't leave you." He replied with blushing smiles.

"Thank you Kian." I replied.

"Please don't tell anyone about this, okay?" I asked in fear that the others might know my problems.

"Sure." He replied.

The bell rang loud that radiates through. We were instructed to finish the exam in one hour. Here it is, the final exam of the entire school year. And it's History Exam. That's a piece of cake for me. I raced my pen through the whole exam and tried to answer everything as fast as I can knowing that my escape is growing nearer and nearer as the time clicks on.

I was finally finished and I started to run through my papers to review them.

Then I heard someone stand up, it was Kian. He was already finished.

I looked up at him from a couple of seats to the left and he smiled at me, walking to the teacher.

I smiled back and my cheeks turned red and I laughed it off while running through the test.

I finally passed the papers after a couple of runthroughs and mistakes. I saw Kian on the stairs, signaling for me to go down with him. I immediately took my bag and went out of the room and straight to Kian.

He led us to the cafeteria and there, we ate and talked.

"So, how's freedom?" He asked me while paying for the snacks he bought

"Haha, you tell me, Mr. Fastwriter." I replied laughing as I prepared my bag to go to a table.

We both sat at the table nearest to the wall, the one we sat at when he..... yeah.

"So, about the uhm... I'm really sorry about that, I didn't mean to." He said crying a bit but he looked down.

"Why are you crying?" I said in a cheerful tone and I patted his back and pet his hair. "Don't worry about it, it's totally fine." I said in a tone that made him comfortable.

He looked up at me, shocked.

"Wait, you're not angry at me?" He said in a shocked manner and his eyes were puffy but wide open.

"No. And I will never be." I said wiping his tears off.

I hugged him and he just burst to tears. He stuffed his head in my chest and embraced me.

"Stop crying, Kian." I said patting his back.

"You have to be strong." I added.

"Haha. I'm sorry." He said laughing as he wiped off his tears dry.

"So, let's eat?" He added in a happy way, facing the table immediately.

"Let's eat." I replied.

And there, we just ate and laughed with each other until the other came down, we all talked but both us just looked at each other smiling. And we held hands under the table. It was a good day.
