1 The Meeting

She stares at the huge mirror on the wall, right in the middle of the trophy stand and the picture frames, as she prepares for the beauty contest, Paragon of Beauty coming up in 2 months time. The more she stares at her image, the more she could feel the falling of the trophies off the rack and the fading of the pictures. maybe it was her imagination of fear. It was her time to wear the crown and safe the family's name just like her mother did before dying of a severe breast cancer She brought out the lucky necklace her mother gave her, then she felt a touch and gripped in fear. It was Nanny Louis.

"The wall, the image, the fame." she said "three things you must never forget, three things we all remember during our time. Nothing else mattered and nothing else will matter. You are Linda Pierce, a part of the Pierce, and a pierce always wear the crown."

She closed her eyes, signed and said. "But what if I fail, what if I wasn't good enough?"

" You just have to be good enough, follow the rules and don't do the don'ts." Answered Nanny Louis.

Shortly thereafter, she decided to take a walk down the street hoping to feel better. After walking a few distance, she branched at a coffee shop and just as she was about to walk in, she bumped into a Pizza delivery guy and the one of the pizza boxes he was carrying fell off his hands.

"oh! sorry, I didn't see you there." he said.

There was a moment of silence as they both stared into each others eyes, then a little girl ran through their middle with her friends and broke the silence.

"oh! I'm so sorry, wasn't really thinking straight, let me help you with that." she bent down to pick the fallen pizza box, but he stopped her.

"No need to worry, I'll get another."

The moment of silence was about to take off again when a man shouted from the coffee shop. "Get in here pizza boy! people are starving."

He quickly ran back to his bike to get another pizza but before he came back, she had left.

"I'm calling your boss!" The man shouted again.

Linda walked home thinking about the whole scenario, she hasn't felt that kind of feeling for a long time, she kept on thinking over and over again.

At the coffee shop, the pizza boy who was being accused by the man for coming late paid no attention to his words, all he was thinking of was the.Outside scene that happened minutes ago.

Linda got home, it was time for the spa. She was going to undergo the most painful spa ever, 5 Hours of tanning, waxing, hair dying, manicures and pedicures. She was going to undergo the spa for 5 weeks before the contest, after the spa, she would head to the gym for body fitness exercises, from there to the training class, where she's taught everything she needs to know about the pegant.

It was evening already. She sneaked out to the coffee shop hoping the scene that occurred earlier would repeat itself. She waited for hours till it was night, no sign of any pizza guy. and Just as she was about to leave, she saw from a distance, the pizza guy, he was standing by a pole, turned out he has also been waiting for hours.

They waved at eachother, smiled, and as he was about to cross to the other side, the town clock clocked 8:pm. She had to run back home.

Through out the night, she was thinking of the pizza guy, smiling and blushing, hoping that tomorrow would be better.
