10 Cape Immergroen!

Chu hid her features more thoroughly this time, and when they entered the village, the commotion from earlier calmed down.

The merchants were still shouting out offers for transportation.

Cyrus led her to the cheapest one, and as the two empty seats in the carriage were now full, they immediately departed from Berglion.

The horses were very fast, and although the rocky, undeveloped roads offered a less-than-leisurely riding experience, it was acceptable.

Anyways, the road soon got much flatter and steady.

In fact, as far as they could see, there wasn't a single hill or protrusion on the land.

The merchant noticed their confusion, and said, "Did you know that this entire place is built on reclaimed land?"

"You mean, this was all submerged underwater in the past?!" Cyrus exclaimed.

He thought that the level of technology in-game was at most a late medieval one, but the task of reclaiming land required advanced knowledge.

This was similar to Niederland, one of the regions of Almania.

"It's nothing miraculous, just a series of dams and windmills."

The merchant then enthusiastically said, "You know, foreign people have a saying about us."

"The gods may have created the world, but the Savoyians created their land."

Cyrus nodded, and then observed Chu.

She was listlessly looking out of the windows of the carriage, into the extensive landscape.

Silence returned to the carriage, and they steadily advanced towards their destination.

___________

-Half an hour later-

By this point, the two were getting tired by this uneventful trip.

However, the coachman exclaimed from the front, "We're approaching Cape Immergroen!"

The merchant joyfully remarked, "Cape Immergroen, the city of canals and windmills, and the southernmost city of the continent!"

Cyrus leaned on the sides of the carriage and put his head out.

In front of them, tall windmills, colorful buildings, and the pristine waters of the sea were visible.

The city was gorgeous even from a distance.

The carriage stopped by the outskirts, and the merchant said, "We're moving to another corner of the city, is it okay if we part ways right here?"

Both Cyrus and Chu did not mind, so they bid their goodbyes and exited the carriage.

Then, they quickly made their way inside.

A peaceful fountain greeted and jovially invited them into the city.

However, a text interface interrupted this peace.

Description: Ursula Von Kanselier, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Savoy, is facing backlash on her decision to visit the Imperator of the new Truscan Empire.

Ensure her safety on the way to the Iron Godsnake.

Both of them were surprised by this sudden notice.

However, Chu Wang swiftly recovered from her surprise, and stated, "I think I'll participate in order to gain the rewards."

Cyrus nodded and eventually decided to do the same as her.

They first had to find the location of the prime minister.

As they walked through the narrow roads of the outskirts, Cyrus's gaze suddenly turned left.

In a tight alleyway, there was a strange silver reflection.

When Cyrus observed it more carefully, a bead of cold sweat fell down his face.

'...Guns....?' His body began shaking profusely, and his pupils twitched in an unnatural way.

He loathed guns.

After all, twelve years ago, two gunshots were responsible for-

"Cyrus, what's wrong?"

"Chu, I might have found something that puts the prime minister in danger, let's part ways!"

Before she could even say something, Cyrus disappeared into the alley.

___________

-In the tight alley-

Cyrus put his hands on his knees and breathed deeply to recover his Endurance.

However, as he raised his body, he perceived that there was no one in the alley anymore.

"Fuck!"

*Whoosh*

A flash suddenly passed by him and halted.

"Hey, brother!"

A man appeared out of nowhere, in front of him.

Cyrus stepped back.

"If someone asks you where I went, could you tell them I left the city inland?" The man pointed to his face.

He seemed to be in his late twenties at most, but his beard made him look older.

Tanned skin and sharp, black eyes were in contrast to the features of the locals.

He wore light, silky clothing, and over his head, a beige piece of fabric folded around his head and formed a hat.

"...Okay?"

"Thanks, brothe-

The man disappeared before he even finished his words.

"Wait, you forgot th-

Cyrus picked up a scroll from the ground, but the man was already long gone.

'What's with that speed?' Cyrus sighed.

"Excuse us?" Two men suddenly entered the alley.

Cyrus turned around and then moved back in fear.

The two men had silky headwear that covered their entire face except for their eyes.

Their upper bodies were exposed, revealing an outstanding level of muscle definition on their tanned skin.

In their hands, a wide sword reflected the small slits of sunlight that reached the alley.

"Have you seen this man?" One of the men showed him a poster.

(WANTED - Sindibad)

Under the bold text was an image.

This was the face of the man he saw earlier.

Below the image was another line of text.

(Former Admiral of the Sultanate of Kuds, Unlawful pirate.)

"Hmm, I think he left Cape Immergroen in the inland direction?" Cyrus regretted his words as soon as he said them.

There was something about the way the two held their swords, that told him that they were ready to kill.

He didn't want to be a direct contributor to any killing, and these two didn't inspire friendliness.

The two men looked at each other, then left the alley.

___________

"Hey, didn't you feel familiarity from the scroll in that white man's hand?"

"You think that's the document the Sultan wanted us to pursue Sindibad for?"

"Maybe...."

"No way, that man seemed terrified, Sindibad would never grant a man like that his precious documents."

"Alright then."
