Chapter 2

It seems that even her marriage was not something that Alexandra could choose, that was hard to deal with. But she would get married, not for the sake of her stepbrother, but out of concern for her father. If he did not love her anymore, it did not mean that Alexandra has stopped loving her father. She always kept in her head the memories of when they were a happy family and how much he doted on her. Maybe with a little bit of luck, her husband will fall in love with her.

A few months later

Alexandra was dressed in a long white bride dress and was stepping with her father holding her throughout the way to the altar where her groom was waiting for her. From his back Alexandra could see that he was a man with muscles there were to die too.

When he meets her at the altar and she had the chance to look at his face she saw a handsome man. He had blue eyes and dark brown hair, he did not have a beard and his face had that angle that a man should have.

As Alexandra was staring at his face she could not remember how fast the time went by. They said their prayers and the priest said that it was the time the groom could kiss his bride. Alexandra closed her eyes and waited for the first kiss. She had not kissed any boys let alone have sex with one. She thought that it was important to keep her first time for someone special. She waited but nothing happened. When she opened her eyes she could see that her husband was marching in the direction of the exit. Her heart was aching. Was it so much for her to wish for a happy marriage?

Alexandra averted her eyes to the people that were invited to her wedding and all she saw was the whispering of the people, the cold glare of her father, and the happy faces of her stepmother and her stepbrother.

At the reception her husband did not even look in her eyes, his thoughts were somewhere else than at their wedding. He also did not even invite her to dance with him. All the time she saw him having a glass of wine in his hand and looking everywhere else than at her.

Alexandra wanted to cry in these moments. Why did everyone hate her? What did she do wrong?

She held in her tears because she did not want to embarrass herself more than she has already done.
