9 Chapter nine

Narcissa brought us through the garden and I mostly smiled and giggled towards the guests that stopped us. Then we came past Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange, both wore silk black with white accessories. Narcissa was a beautiful wife but Bellatrix was a beautiful woman overall. Her whole posture to the way she held herself and the aura around her made her a whole different kind of beauty.

She showed pure confidence and arrogance, I felt at a loss of words at her beauty. She was like a gem hidden in the rocks. Bellatrix laughed at something Rodolphus had said, it wasn't till Narcissa announced our presence that she turned around to face us.

"Bella, greet the birthday boy and girl," Narcissa said announcing our presence with a smile. Bellatrix whipped around her long dark curls following her movement. I stared at her in awe. Bellatrix had a proud smirk on her face.

"Hello Cissy, and my little cute nephew Draco and you must be Pansy, Pansy Parkinson," Bellatrix said confidently. With a little tease in her voice directed towards Draco who hid his face away in his mother's dress. I let go of Narcissa's hand and introduce myself.

"I am Pansy Parkinson, you must be Bellatrix Lestrange and Rodolphus Lestrange, it wonderful to meet you," I say to them with a soft bow. Bellatrix crouches down to my level and started pinching my cheeks. "Well, aren't you wonderful, you must be your father's pride and joy," Bellatrix said taunting. I nod while she kept pinching my cheeks and respond in between the pinches. "You look very pretty tonight," I try to speak as Bella pinched and squished my cheeks.

"Well aren't you charming" Bellatrix chuckled, "I brought you a gift I hope you'll enjoy it," She continued. My eyes sparkle and I stretch my hands out. Rodolphus laughed along with Bellatrix at my eagerness and handed me a big present. "Where is my present?" Draco whined, clearly unhappy that I got one from his aunt and he didn't.

"Draco! mind the location," Narcissa hissed. "It is okay Cissy, he also gets his gift," Bellatrix said and nodded in Roldolphus who handed him another packet. It was smaller than mine but I knew that it would be something special.

My present started moving, I looked at it oddly and placed it on the grass. It was not too heavy. I opened the purple bowtie around the box and opened the lid. Inside the lid was a bird it had greenish-black feathers and big eyes, the bird looks gloomy and with a sharp beak. "This is an Augurey also known as the Irish phoenix right?" I ask. The Augurey sat on a small book. I grabbed the book out of the box and read the title.

Augurey, bird of death and all you need to know

The title was a bit scary but I swallowed the fear down and looked at the little bird. It was quite adorable I picked it up. It was around the size of my palm. The bird chirped happily before rubbing his head on my palm. "Every girl needs a companion, we thought this one would be well suited," Roldolphus said with a small smirk. Clearly, they had wanted me to be upset at the present but I was anything but that I smiled broadly and put the Augurey back in the box.

I jumped in Bellatrix's arms, who caught me with surprise. "Thank you! Thank you so much!" I say appreciatively. I could feel that Bellatrix was uncomfortable and at a loss for words, but before she could resist I jumped out of her arms and did the same to Rodolphus who was still flabbergasted. Narcissa saw this as an opportunity to go away before Bellatrix would go on a hunt to murder me.

I took the bird and the book in my hands while I followed Narcissa who pushed my back after saying her goodbyes. Draco was in a fit if giggles in which I soon joined in. Maybe it would not be such a dreadful night after all.
