'Watchdog'

Deep down, far below the skyscraper, the hallway that should be empty was echoing with light footsteps. Each footsteps rang out like a church bell on a quiet Sunday morning.

A cloak-wearing figure strolled through the hallway, allowing their footsteps to echo off the dark hallway, announcing their arrival to all in a several hundred metre radius. The cloak swished back and forth as the figure moved.

Stepping over a dead body, the footsteps stopped at a particular dent red door.

A light beep was heard and the red door opened.

"I was wondering… Since when did you have the guts to disregard my orders?"

The red door groaned when being pushed, revealing the bald vampire, Lucifer, sitting on the ground with his back on the wall. He looked pissed, furious even.

Looking at the dried blood on his face, the figure sneered.

"How pathetic."

"Shut the fuck up, Watchdog," Lucifer hissed. "Go back ass-licking the King."

"Rude," 'Watchdog' chuckled. He trailed his eyes and looked straight at Won Shik's frightened eyes several metres away.

"Is that human the scientist you reported?" 'Watchdog' questioned. "Transfer him to the main branch, King's order."

"Don't order me around!" Lucifer snarled.

"Do I need to report that you misused the newly developed poison?" 'Watchdog' threatened. "It will only take a day to have this town destroyed."

"Just because you are the King's most trusted, that doesn't make us equal! You are nothing more than a lowly vampire!" Lucifer hissed and growled in disgust.

"Then I expected the scientist to be at the main branch in two days."

With that, 'Watchdog' turned around to leave, however, he stopped after a few steps and turned over his shoulder.

"I know what you are planning, you are being too obvious."

That said, 'Watchdog' finally turned and left.

Lucifer clenched his jaw, growling deeply in his throat. His golden eyes glared daggers at the back of the leaving cloak silhouette.

"You better sleep with your eyes open, fucking dog."

~xXx~

This place should be a laboratory, yet it looked more like an abandoned hospital, it was as quiet and cold as a morgue. Great machines lay silent and disordered. A thin film of dust lay on everything.

The walls had cracks on them and were covered in bloody handprints. Some handprints even looked smeared, like the owner of this blood was being pulled while he or she was desperately clinging on something to hold on.

Luo Yi crept through the lightless hallway, passing a lot of sections filled with unused monitors. On inspection, she found that these computers and monitors had been formatted and the filing cabinets were empty.

If they really continued the Project of Pandora, shouldn't this lab still be working? Why were they formatted though? What's more, this lab didn't have the signs of scientists experimenting at all. It looked dead and left.

Was Won Shik tricked? He said he was told to come here for the sake of destroying Pandora by someone, but who?

Did someone try to lure him here? She wouldn't be surprised if it was the bald vampire who managed to do that.

But then again, Won Shik believed that Pandora wasn't complete yet, but why would he want to destroy it? He was surprised when he found out it worked on her, excited even.

Wait.

That's because he was being selfish and had forgotten his sole mission of coming to this stupid town.

The sound of the chair moving startled her. She whirled around and saw something looking like a rat scurrying away, vanishing into the walls and floor.

In this complete darkness, the whole place looked like night vision in her vampire sight. She continued exploring.

Not only did it look like an abandoned hospital, the sections were built like a maze, with endless rooms and hallways. She didn't know how long she had spent going up and down this building and still couldn't find the exit.

To be honest, if she was asked to go back to find that red door, she wouldn't be able to.

At some point, she stepped in something soft, like rubber, and looked down to see a wallet. She bent down and picked it up to inspect it. Flipping it open, she saw that this wallet was once belonging to a scientist working here.

She pulled out an ID card from it and saw the face of a young woman with short brown hair and sharp eyes. She looked young, around her mid-thirties.

HANNA LIU

Turned out, she was the head scientist. Was she dead too? If so, how did she die? Tore apart by zombies?

Luo Yi slipped the ID card back inside and placed it on the table nearby. The scientists here had left their stuff lying around while running for their life. Well, who wouldn't. None of this would be important once you lose your life.

But really, seeing all their stuff lying around carelessly, like their bags and cell phones added some personal effects to abandoned labs. It made them more eerie.

When she found the exit of this skyscraper, she quickly breathed in the fresh air for getting stuck indoors too long, only to choke on them, because the air outside was as foul as ever.

The sky was dark. The pale full moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. Normally, nights like this belonged to the werewolves. They would all transform and go on a run, howling and worshipping at their Moon Goddess. They would let their inner wolves run free on this special occasion, letting them take over.

Her mind immediately drifted back to Luca. Oh God.

What should she do?

These humans first or Luca?

She almost pulled her hair out in frustration, why must she always face this kind of dilemma?

Fine! Humans first! Luca could wait.

Now… Where did these raiders hide them? It didn't seem like they were in the skyscraper.

Come on, think, think!

She racked her mind, recalling what had happened during 'The Show'. She remembered how Won Shik was dragged forward, then A-Reum, however, there was only one exit to that huge circus canvas and the raiders who brought Won Shik and A-Reum didn't enter from there.

They must have come from somewhere under the Circus. Luca said the prisoners had to be close by because it was easier to transport them back and forth.

It must be there!

Oh God! Why did she not notice that before?!

The underground.
