13 Compromising

Looking across the desk at the young lady who had revealed her secret to her, Angela was a bit stumped on what to do.

One one hand she has procedures to follow but on the other, this young girl is scared of losing her normal life style. She was in a short dilemma before she noticed the girl fidgeting with her fingers. Watching her for a second she realized that the girl , Rose, just wants to get a job while not keeping her secret hidden from her employer, if she revealed her powers randomly one day it would cause a panic in the hospital and have the military lock the place down.

A big misunderstanding like that can easily ruin Rose's chances at a normal life. Thinking of an alternative to that, Angela got up from her desk chair and sat beside Rose. Placing her hand over the young woman's she smiled and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"How about this... I can't keep the military unaware of this but how about you just keep a mask on all the time so nobody knows your true identity? That way you can work and use your powers while I can follow procedures. I can explain to the military that you don't want to be identified and that your powers aren't harmful, you'll probably need to demonstrate it too but when they see it they will most likely agree to let you do what you want without them watching you from a few steps away." Angela suggested as the young woman beside her turned her face to her. Seeing Rose think about that possibility brought a smile to her face.

"You know, I have a son that makes the same faces as you when he thinks of things. He just graduated high school so he is a bit younger than you but he is a kind boy who has many friends and a few close ones." Angela said making Rose tilt her head slightly.

"Is that so... well about your suggestion... I don't think that's a bad idea but can I also use an alias? I don't want people knowing my real name..." Rose asked after thinking a bit more. She liked the idea of being able to openly use her powers within the hospital so while she needed to reveal herself, she could keep her true identity a secret as long as she was careful.

"Hmmmm... well I don't think that's a bad idea but will this only be an in hospital alias? Also information will spread about you from helping patients, are you sure you don't want to give your real identity the accomplishments and respect you will gain?" Angela asked just thinking about how popular Anna will be in a few years.

"It's fine, I would rather be myself outside of the hospital, I'm rather shy so I don't want to be recognized outside like famous people.." Rose said as she smiled back at Angela.

"Well alright then." Angela said as she stood up, releasing Anna's hands. "You just need to sign a few papers, I will give you a few masks to wear if you'd like or you can wear your own." She said as walked to the other side of her desk and looked at the papers spread out across its surface before stacking a few together and putting them on the other side, facing Rose

"I'll have to buy some masks so I'd be grateful if you could let me use some..." Rose said as she leaned forward and used an available pen to sign the papers on the desk. After a few minutes of clarifying things in the papers with Angela, she finished signing them all sat back in her seat.

Taking the papers and putting them in a folder on the side of the desk, Angela sat down and asked the very common question all employers ask. "Do you have anymore questions?"

Seeing the woman who was completely kind to her throughout the entire process, ask if she had any other questions, Rose thought for a bit before asking one.

"Can I wear a more personal doctor jacket?" She asked after thinking of something.

"A more personal jacket?" Angela asked before thinking about it. "I can allow it if you can explain a bit why you would like that."

"Well my powers let me manifest something that amplifies the effectiveness of my ability. And what I manifest happens to be something else... it's very cool and stylish though...." She said as she thought about how it looked when she manifested it at her home before she left.

"Are you able to show me?" Angela asked excitedly.

"If I do then my throne might appear if I don't limit my power fast enough." Rose said as she put her fingers together in her lap.

"I'd still like to see it, we are planning to tell the situation to the military anyways, so while it might cause some panic, we can keep everyone calmed down with a simple explanation." Angela said as she looked expectantly at Rose.

"Alright then..." Rose said as she stood up and put her tan purse on the chair beside her. With a soft breath of air, Rose let her power flow out of her body, causing a surge of aura to explode a few inches out of her body before it condensed and took form over her body.

Rose herself had a thin pink aura that manifested around her that slowly receded into her body after a few seconds, what was left was Rose surprisingly with pink hair and also a pink haori around her body that stopped just at her knees.

The haori was designed with black flower petals , curved land spiral lines while being accented with light blue outlines. The look Rose had now with her manifested Rose painted a very beautiful and sweet picture for Angela.

"You look very cute with that on, you go girl!" She said with a chuckle as she got up and walked around the desk to closely inspect the outfit.

"My son would love this, his name is Damian, I can introduce you to him if you'd like." Angela suggested causing Rose to look away with a flushed face. "That's fine Doctor Wayne... you don't need to do all that."

Smiling at the lightly glowing pictures on the haori, Angela looked over Rose once more before asking to touch it in which Rose agreed.

Feeling the fabric of the haori, she felt like it felt nice like silk while also being extremely soft causing her to fall in love with it instantly.

...

As the introductions were over, Angela smiled and let Anna leave after handing her a few masks after she had made her haori dissipate. She had asked a few more questions about the job itself but with quick answers, she had nothing else to ask.

Telling her to come back tomorrow ready to work, She allowed Rose to leave while wearing a mask. As the door closed behind her she sighed and reclined in her chair for about 30 minutes, thinking of what had transpired today, before she was paged over the intercom.

She really did want Rose to meet Damian. Though the age difference was a bit far she felt like they could at least become good friends. It wasn't uncommon for adults to have a gap in age as friends so with a noticeable shyness within Rose, she figured Damian, with his shy but outgoing nature, she would be able to slowly start opening up to people in the future and make a lot of friends.

Looking at the clock on her computer, she saw it was almost time to go home, so with just an hour left of work, she got up while looking at the framed photo on her desk, it was of Angela, Damian's father, and Damian himself as a toddler. Smiling at the picture showing her happiest years of her life, so far, she began walking out with Rose's file in her hand.

She wouldn't let these papers out of her sight and let them get lost within the stacks of papers she received every day. They were far too important to her and Rose for them to be lost the following day.

As expected, Rose's earlier display of her haori to Angela caused a bit of a panic at the hospital, there were now police, military, and news stations, trying to figure out what happened. So while smiling for the cameras as she walked outside of the building towards the military personnel in charge of the situation , Angela explained it all to the them while keeping Rose's file safely in her hands.
