Chapter 61

ENNY

Daniel was having a nightmare. Again.

The light bulb in the room was off and the moon outside the window was my only source of light. I saw him tossing and turning in his bed after I got down from the upper bunk as quietly as I could. He was mumbling something that I couldn't make out but I knew the reason for his nightmares. He wasn't the one that told me. Hae In had let it slip when we talked two days ago. She told me he had shot someone... a bandit. The man had been bitten by an infected and none of them knew till Jack attacked him. He then tried to shoot Daniel but Zeke shot him first, in the neck. Daniel had being the one to give the final shot.

Zeke had also told me about what happened and he had nightmares too. I guessed Daniel didn't tell me because he had been worried of what I would think of him. I didn't think any less of him. As far as I was concerned, his actions didn't lead to that man's death.
