2 2: Imprinting

I don't remember anything the professor taught in the remaining lectures of the day. My mind was occupied with thoughts of my new, very new, found love. I sketched werewolves up the margins of my notebook until the bell rang and I darted for the door.

Once outside the smell of rain is strong. I look around and then sniff the air as if I could pick up the scent of this strange, beautiful creature. I can't. What I do smell is fresh waffle cones, fries and gravy, and maple treats being served up and down the Main Street in Jasper. Tourists flood the street I can smell them. Sweat, and blood and flesh. They smell good.

"Hyde!" Kaylie cried out running up behind me trying to catch up and clearly out of breath.

"You're out of your league hun." I smirk.

"Oooh no. I saw. I know what you're going to do. You're going to find him? I am coming with you or I'll blab to everyone." She squares her shoulders and tries to sound assertive. This sprite like being will simply not back down. Annoying little thing. But I admire her persistence. Suddenly I have an idea that may scare her away.

"Come here." I command. I grab her hand and look at her once. "Get on my back." I order.

"Uhm, excuse me?"

I glare at her at if threaten to leave her behind otherwise. She shrugs and jumps on. I hold her legs right to my sides and run full Wolf speed into a near by wood on my two human legs. The forest is whimsical. Straight out of a fairytale or dream. Green healthy comes hang lazily from overhead branches and too-large mushrooms emerge from the base of the trees. The sky is only visible in patches because the thick tall trees cover most of the sky above. So much green. I feel her hands grip tighter the faster I run.

I stop abruptly and Kaylie's eyes are wild too match her wind blown hair. She questions me with her eyes but doesn't manage any words. Sweet little thing.

"Stay here." I instruct pushing her shoulders down so she can sit on a log and catch her wits.

I run a few yards away and undress folding my clothes and pressing them neatly into my book bag. I gaze down at my naked human self. Admiring every curve and scar. I am a masterpiece. Werewolves tend to be quite cocky.

I crack my neck before I start to sprint in Kaylie's direction. As I near I watch her expression go from confused to shocked to outraged at my nakedness. My perky Breasts are bouncing as I run and my muscular legs are tense. My hair follows me; a trail dancing in the wind.

Her mouth is dropped open in that same stupid way. I grin as I think of the beast in the park and flinch all of my muscles, causing a glorious reaction until the morph starts. It's always painful but I love it. My tail erects from my lower spine and I howl. My shoulders broaden and my bones whine and crack as I morph into a beautiful animal more than four times my human size. My white coat shines in the sun beams flitting through the tree leaves above us.

Kaylie's expression hasn't changed. I stand tall and gaze down at her tiny face. I lift her chin with my nose to close her small mouth and her eyes stay on me. She shakes her head and runs her eyes. Then she furrows her brow and squints at me as if to clarify her view.

Oh yes my sweet innocent classmate. I'm real. You're awake. She drops to her knees in awe.

I roll my eyes and now to nuzzle her hair. Get up Kaylie, enough with the theatrics. It's me, Hyde.

I trot back over to my stuff and lift my book bag with my teeth. I bring it to Kaylie and she slings it into her back. Eyes still stuck on me. My ego is being fed. I want her to ride on my back. It's the fastest way to get back up that mountain and search the isolated cave that line wolf disappeared off to.

I growl and her. A short assertive growl. Nothing too terrifying for the human. She raises a brow confused and I roll my eyes in frustration.

I look at her then at my back, over my shoulder. I repeat the action when she doesn't comprehend my request right away. Then her expression softens, like a lightbulb went off in her head. She gets it.

She mounts me like she would a horse and I huff in annoyance at the whole ordeal. I'd never had someone ride me, at least not in this way, and not perched on my back. I feel her hands grasp my fur. Yeah, hold on tight human.
