PART 1: Wolves Who Wore Crowns

|| 19th February 2011 ||

Nothing really mattered to Minae, the slight sting in her newborn daughter's bright yellow eyes told her everything about what she'll need to do in a few seconds. Her daughter took after her, was it a good thing?

Would she have felt the same way if her new-born were to be a human instead?

Minae locked her own golden eyes with the little yellow ones placed in front of her, the little pale chubby figure sits still in the basket full of bloody and wet towels, so still, so quiet.

She knew her child were to grow up the same as she did, hidden away and sworn into silence and secrecy. She couldn't find a hint of human within her.

Jeon-e wasn't particularly invested in what his daughter looked like... or was, more the fact that his wife who had just given birth is... standing on both feet...Completely still...not showing any signs of pain or fatigue.

The new mother didn't scream or break a sweat at all, and his new born didn't make a single peep either, yet both were fine and healthy?

The night was so quiet, that not a single animal who sat outside in the forest surrounding their tall hidden away mansion, would've known of any pregnancy happening.

He felt left out in something big, something lifechanging, and he was.

His mind was already too poisoned to the brink of no return, he only felt happy.

The maidens, doctors and nurses began gathering all of their tools, cleaning the area whilst the two new-parents gaze over their daughter in silence.

"She's gotten the colour in her eyes from you," Jeon-e gazes down further, almost as if he was proud of the sight in front of him, Minae couldn't tell. Jeon-e's voice is quiet and careful, the feeling of not being able to read his kind and loving wife's emotions terrified him.

"You know what happens next right? She's Dusty," Minae finally breaths out, lighting a fire in Jeon-e's mind.

"Darling?" Jeon-e kindly grins to his wife's side-profile, admiring her beautiful features, despite the events that had just happened not long ago, she's still beautiful. Her tanned skin and freckle covered nose. And the way the gold in her eyes always sparkled when she would get mad or upset. He was beyond in love with this woman, even if they werent the same.

And so was she, she loved every little bit of him. His dark dreaded hair and scruffy beard, his human brown eyes and kind heart. He was so pure.

So why was she trembling?

"No," Minae's sudden low tone makes Jeon-e's heart stop, his skin turns pale at the sight of clear tears pouring down his beloved's left cheek, as she slowly turns to face him. At this point he finally recognised what his wife was going through all this time. The deal he made with the devil and the position he had forcfully put her in. It was unfair. But his true side finally presented itself. The desperate feeling finally relieved from it's chains. He had a family, against the devil's will.

His wife looked unpredictable.

His family members who helped his wife conceive his daughter, never explained the silence that happened within the process of giving birth to his child, and why his newborn hadn't cried once, he just felt present in a movie scene where he had no lines.

Little did he know the unstable mindset inside of his head, placed by the devil himself was leaving his own life and willpower hanging by a thread. He lost all sense of strength, power, love. His mind, poisoned.

He was just a small human, in a room full of people who were deadly, and he knew that. Dangerous."Hey darling, are you okay?" He asks once again, his desperatness slipping out of his mouth for a split second. For some reason he could hear his voice echoing in his head. Was he dizzy?

Minae mutters something almost like an apology to her husband, she new her husband's mind was lost long ago.

And with the click of her heels, the white walls all shine red in seconds and it's hard to tell that the carpet was originally a light grey colour.

Windows shatter.

Minae couldn't let herself and her new born daughter remain in her damned husband's life any longer. She felt terrible, she regretted ever meeting him, she ruined him and his future because of a mere child that was born like her.

She hated him.

She hated herself for even loving him.

She saw herself as a monster, apart of a race that the world wasn't prepared to find out about yet. And because of it, her child will be nothing but prey for the wolves.

Curtains tear and wrap around the throats of the doctors, tables and glass panes slice through the women.

Right before her shimmering eyes, Minae watches as her husband is torn apart.

The way his eyes would light up every time he would catch even just a small glimpse of her beauty, the way his beard that could never grow had sat perfectly in the bottom centre of his face, and the way his long dreaded hair would neatly even itself out against his strong back; it was all torn apart. Perfection.

And still, all that was on his mind was of why his wife looked so conflicted.

So sad...

The animals waiting eagerly outside in the trees and logs, could definitely hear the disturbance happening now. The cries of a murderer wearing a crown and the whimpers of the wolves getting killed. Until finally, it all stopped.

And still. She wondered why?

Why did he care so much for her? Even knowing she, his daughter could be the dawn of it all. Of both families. A Dusty.
