Reality 1: Red & Blue, A Sickening Normality Unfolds.

... 15th of November 2034

The sounds of rain tapping in a soothing repetitive manner would drown out the silence of the open and dark long road in the night that led down through the suburban neighbourhood. A half empty blue can of soda laid messily along the wet road motionless as droplets that ran along its aluminium layer were given clarity by the towering street lights above that was forever casting its orange glare of light along the wet streets of the innocent neighbourhood deep into the night. For a long while this lonely neighbourhood would remain in inertia, this unchanging and peaceful scene was brought to an unfortunate eventual change as two new forms of light introduced itself, reflecting it's presence along the wet ground and overshadowing the orange light, these lights were Red and Blue. As relaxing this scene was before the police car's silent sirens of light only provided a bad aura interrupting this scene with the thought of negativity being close-by.

The oncoming sound of a car would slowly make it's way down the road the tires vividly running along the damp surface of the asphalt that supported the car's weight would eventually collide with the idle soda can and sending it hurdling and smashing against the curb into a resting state once more now crushed and twisted as the police car continued it's journey without much problem or so it seemed. Inside the car were two silent men; cloaked in darkness and occasionally lit up by the silent sirens of Red and Blue that reflected dimly into the car unmasking their grief-stricken faces. The driver had an intense perpetual feeling of sorrow welling up inside of him, yet optimistic and hopeful to do the job he knew he had to do and that was to make his city a better place, the other officer was feeling the same yet he felt nothing but that overwhelming feeling of sorrow and dismay to whatever happened but kept up a tough guy act with his arms crossed looking out through the side window drizzled with rain away from the other officer.

The cruiser's destination had been reached and the car would stop outside opposite a lovely and cozy blue home at the curb, The house correlated with all the other suburban colourful households that partnered on the left and right of it and on the other side of the street facing the blue household. The lights on the top of the squad car would stop and nothing more than the street light above lit the clean yet damp walk-way as the two officers would emerge from their car with incoherent radio chatter in the background emanating from their car. They would approach the blue coloured home as the rain from above soaked into their stainless uniforms, The optimistic one took off their hat as a sign of respect for what was about to happen while the other followed along. This revealed their appearance; one officer is a Jackal with an autumn fur colour resembling that almost of a fox's pattern, a dim white splotch however was still visible around his left eye, His eyes consisted of a baby blue like color or the type of eye color that you'd peer into and feel safe. The other officer was a husky with hopeful snow white fur and glasses that sat atop his snout, his eyes were a hazel colour.

Now stood stationary under the shelter towering the entrance of the home the two men would gaze at the dark crimson coloured door and pondered how they were going to go about with breaking the news out to this woman, Looking back at one another as the Jackal nodded in agreement offering to take the difficult yet crucial job he knew he had to do. Idly dripping with rain onto the "Home, Sweet Home!" welcome door-mat that they stood on he would reach his hand like paw out and balled up a fist and knock on the wooden door, not bothering to use the doorbell that sat snug next to the door. His arm would drop and he resumed a respectful position pushing his wet hat against his chest while letting out a light and uncomfortable sigh projecting the pressure he was feeling and peering down at the floor in anticipation.

The audible mumbles coming from inside the home from a news station on the television inside would immediately come to a stoppage, being paused as a door inside would creak open audibly and a silhouette of a lady would be projected from the window to the left of the door by the comforting light from inside the blue home whilst she rushed to the front door that would swing open in the faces of the officers as they were shrouded in the comforting light of the home now greeted by an older woman with fur drier than a desert which had definitely seen much better days, clutching a cigarette in one hand she would gaze between the two officers as the confused look on her face slowly started to grow more and more into a worried and nervous expression; the woman's mind connected dots as the silent panic overwhelmed her. She slowly gained the courage to ask as her lip would quiver projecting the nightmare she was speculating to have happened in her slowly breaking mind, her voice would crack as the fear plagued her speech patterns "Can.. I help you officers?" She would mutter out, closing her eyes and quietly whimpering under her breath.

The comforting light of the home felt not much comforting anymore, the darkness of the night had already corrupted that with assistance of the dwelling feeling of sorrow, pity and guilt mixed in the air like a foul uninvited stench that wouldn't leave. The Jackal would quickly make a follow-up response to her dreading question, letting her know exactly what was happening so the poor woman can learn the truth as much as it hurt "Mrs Jackson, We have been assigned to deliver you unfortunate news this evening. We believe the murder of a teen named Rosco.. err who is of the age 19, Rodent or a Mouse to be exact and we'd like you to come with us to the morgue to confirm the identity."

Barely finishing his sentence the woman had collapsed onto the floor of her own home in a sentimental outburst, tears flooded down her face while the situation escalated emotionally at a fast pace, Yet silence was the only outcome to this current scenario other than the sounds of sobbing and the news station in the background seemingly began to blare louder and louder while the officers were quietly hurting on the inside seeing this mother breaking-down on the floor, they found it easier focusing on something alternative that wasn't upsetting to maintain confidence in themselves. The husky's distraught feeling continued to overwhelm him and before he broke too he fled, turning and now heading back to the squad car while the Jackal quietly stared down at the mother with a desperate need to console her and offer her sympathy that he resisted for the sake of his own professionalism but eventually caved in and leaned down patting her on the back and stating "I'm going to find who did this to your son, Mrs Jackson. Believe me they will not get away with this... He will not hurt anyone again." his arms latched around the frail and vulnerable woman with a comforting hug of reassurance, as much as he thought it would help, the woman inevitably continued to show her heart-break, completely broken from the news. The cigarette the woman was smoking previously laid idly on the floor slowly burning out staining the polished wooden floor it sat upon as ash replaced what was once fresh on the cigarette as the orange glow burned out, nothing but ash.

The husky would stop at the car of the police cruiser and leaned his forearm on the roof staring letting a few tears fall and join the rain on the floor before gazing back at his partner and grunting to himself, resting his back against the car and crossing his arms and continuing to resume his tough guy act in an emotionally hard scenario in order to cope with the pressure. Now gazing down the long road to the left he stood there watching the rain as it did its work, pouring down against the drowning surface of the road. His eyes could only meet one other thing blurred in the drizzled rain and that was the crushed blue soda can from earlier that was gradually moving along with a stream closer and closer to the car before suddenly coming to it's eventual demise as the stream of rain would take it straight down a storm drain into the darkness, the rain only grew heavier from there and soon blaring out the sobbing noises of the crying woman in the background.
