1 Owner of the Earth

Hello guys. So nice to see you all around. My name…. You can call me Alex. One day when I woke up Earth choose me as her rightful owner. I know right. Pretty crazy shit. Well, this is my story. How Earth chooses me as her rightful owner and how I utilize that power for the betterment of the whole world. So, let us start.

At the end of 2019 a deadly virus broke out all around the world. Initially the virus was found only on bats. But gradually the virus began to mutate. By eating the flesh of the infected bats or by coming in contact with the saliva of the bats slowly humans began to affect too. The contagious rate and mortality rate of that virus was really high. Nobody was prepared for such a huge disaster. Not even the most powerful nation on the world could face it. So you can guess the effect it have on a developing country like India.

I was an IT professional, a junior software developer in a small IT firm in India. I am living in a state called Kerala. We have another nickname for my state 'God's own country'. As the name suggests, this place is a heaven on earth. I am not talking about the people though. I am talking about the environment. There are lots and lots of greeneries, lakes, rivers, mountains, hills you name it everything is there. My native tongue is definitely not English, it is a language called Malayalam. Most of you guys might not have heard about it. Well, that is the specialty of India. From north to south there are like 20+ languages, different culture and tradition, different dress style, different food, everything is different. But deep in the mind we are all the same. No other country in this world speaks as much language as we do, no other country has as much as religion and caste as we have and yet it is still quite peaceful. Let me quote a famous movie dialogue about India here "India is a nation where we allow a lady of Catholic origin to step aside for a Sikh to be sworn in as Prime Minister by a Muslim President to govern a nation of over 80% Hindus. We have 5,600 newspapers, 35,000 magazines in over 21 different languages with a combined readership of 120 million". Hope you got a general idea about my nation.

Effect of pandemic was huge in my life. In order to reduce companies lose they began to fire employees. Unfortunately, I lost my job too. On one side the threat of pandemic and on the other side my career, I really got stressed. That night was the hardest night in my life. I couldn't sleep properly for many hours. I just lay down on the bed with my eyes open thinking about my future. After a few time I fall into deep slumber.

Next day when I woke up something unexpected happened. A girl wearing a white wedding dress standing in front of me. But when I looked closely there were white wings on her back and they were gently flapping. She was standing in front of the window covering all the sunlight shining on my room. Due to the bright background I could not see her face properly. I really thought it was a dream. Otherwise how could a girl stand in my room. So I pinched hardly on my cheek to find out whether it was a dream. A strong pain felt on my cheek. No it was not a dream. I just stayed on the bed motionless unaware of what to do next by staring at her.

After seeing me woke up the Angels face lit. Slowly moved away from the window. Only at that moment I could see her face. I became really dumbfounded looking at her face. I have never seen a face more mesmerizing that hers. No one will doubt if she introduced herself as an angel. She was that beautiful.

[for readers notice. The dialogues inside '[]' is angel's voice and that inside '{}' is my voice. Please note]

{Who are you? What are you doing in my room? How did you get in here?} I asked in a tensed tone.

[Hello Alex. My name is not important. You can call me whatever you like. I have an urgent task for you.]

{Sorry… Do we know each other? What is with your cosplay get up? Any way nice work dressing yourself like an Angel. Whatever you have to offer I am not interested. Now get out of my house.}

[How rude. This is not cosplay or anything. I really am an Angel.] She replied angrily.

{How am I supposed to believe you?}

[Humans these days. Even if God himself appeared in front of them they still don't believe it. They need proof for everything.] She began to pout angrily.

[Ok Since you want proof I will give you one].

The next moment she ran straight towards me and grab me tightly on my waste. Her wings began to flap violently. Large air currents began to appear in my room. In a flash she began to fly towards the window carrying me. She flew past the window and began to fly straight towards the sky. These all incidents happened in a flash and my brain could not process it. By the time I realized we were flying I began to scream in fear.

{Aaaaaaahhhhhhh . I am going to die. What are you doing? I believe you…I believe you. You are a real Angel. Please put me down.}

[Hmmmm. Now you believe me boy. After I put you down you need to listen calmly what I am about to say. Okay?]

{I will listen. I will listen whatever beautiful Angel want to say}

[Good boy]

After reaching a mutual agreement she slowly began to descend. Only after touching my feet on the Earth I felt relieved.

{Land oh….. solid land. Never thought I would be so happy to see you}.Upon touching my foot on the Earth I knelt forward and kissed the Earth.

[Don't be so dramatic]

{You….Even if you are a real Angel how could you toy with my life like that?} I asked angrily at that Angel.

[It seems like you haven't learned yet. Do you want to go another round?] Angel asked playfully.

{No..No…No….Say what you want to say and get the hell out of my property}.

[Sir Alex. Please save Earth from extinction. You are our last hope]. The playful tone of the Angel suddenly turned into that of request and she even knelt before me.

For the next hour what I heard completely changed my believes. At the core of the Earth there lives a powerful deity. She is the physical manifestation of the planet Earth, Mother Thea. At the beginning when the Earth was formed she was full of vitality. She created the large mountains, the deep seas, the clouds and even the life. In short she is the creator of the nature itself. But the greedy humans began to exploit the nature. Due to the constant exploitation of nature, nature protest so violently. Many natural calamities began to occur all over the world. Flood, volcanic eruption, earth quake, tsunami, glacier meltdown, global warming even pandemic and so on were the results of provoking nature. But humanity did not know one thing. During each time Mother Thea was the one who suppressed the anger of nature using her life force. Many of these calamities might have been the end of human beings but Thea suppressed the effect each time painstakingly. That is the love of a mother. Even in her death she will only think about her children. Now since she used her life force too much she is dying. Then nobody will be there to check tabs on nature. Upon her death whole Earth will perish and there is only 30 years for that.

This news that Angel told me took my breath away. According to Angel Earth has only a lifespan of 30 years. Earth is dying. I clicked my teeth in desperation. Earth is going to die and I am still single. Man what a joke. Suddenly a question appeared in my mind.

{I understand everything you said. But how can a mere human like me help such a powerful deity?}

[You can't. It is too late to help her now.]

{Then why do you want my help?}

[Mother Thea wants you to be her successor. Mother Thea wants to make you the owner of the Earth.]

{What… But why. What can I do? And why me? There are like a billion humans in this world. Why does she chose me?}

[Because you are her favorite child. You have all the qualities she seeks. If you refuse then no one on this Earth can save it from extension. She wants you to be her successor so that when her time comes you can replace her. So do you agree to be her successor?]

{Fine…..What choice do I have?}

[Good. Finally there is one more task]

{What is it?}

As an answer for my question Angel took an ancient book from air as magic and she continued

[This book is the knowledge of Mother Thea. As soon as you agree to be her successor this book belongs to you. Now close your eyes and meditate. I will help you absorb the contents of this book]

{Okay}

I sat in a meditative pose. Angel began to read the contents of the book at an incredible speed. Amazingly I could understand everything she is saying with 100% perfection. After an hour she closed the book and looked at me.

[So how is it?]

{Amazing. These knowledge. There is a vast array of knowledge. We humans haven't even the scratched the surface of this vast knowledge. It is so amazing. Now I understand. Beginning of universe, stars, planets, life. Everything has a profound meaning we humans cannot even understand. Thank you. I will never misuse this knowledge. I will prove to Mother Thea that I am worthy of her recognition}

[Fool you have already proved it. She knows this knowledge will be put to a good use in your hand]

By saying this the Angel began to vanish from my sight.
