39 Playing Games.

Ariel wasn't going to give up on escaping so she kept on pushing the chains wrapped around her legs down with intense energy and she wailed in pain each time she dragged the chains off her legs.

It was causing her extreme pain.

"F**k" Ariel cursed under her breath, letting go of the chains and leaned against the wall of the room. She was weak, tired and so damned hungry, she had not fed since yesterday night after the crashing of Avril's mating ceremony.

And her father didn't seem to care enough for her to send her food.

Talking of food, the door of the attic suddenly creaked open and the smell of delicious food struck Ariel's nostrils so hard causing her to drool intensively and also yearned excessively for the food.

Ariel licked her lips in starvation and gulped, she leaned off the wall and prepared herself to dive into that food that made her behave that way as if she had lost her mind.

But the moment the door fully opened and she saw the face of the person that brought the food to her, she lost her appetite and almost puked.

"F**k" she cursed under her breath and leaned against the wall again. She wasn't hungry anymore and had lost her appetite. Of all the people that had to bring food to her, why did it have to be Jacob?.

That was definitely her father's doing, it couldn't be any one else because her father knew how much she hated Jacob and that was the reason he sent Jacob to bring food for her.

Alpha Mills wasn't satisfied after disowning her as his child and now he wanted to get her pissed off as well.

"You look too ugly with that look on your face, you better change it" Jacob laughed, taking a seat with the tray of food in his hands after closing the door as he got into the attic. He knew Ariel wasn't going to offer him a seat so he took the seat himself.

Ariel glared at Jacob viciously as he took a seat she didn't offer him, and looked away which Jacob didn't give a damn about.

"Your father sent me to give these to you, personally" Jacob leaned down and pushed the tray of food, containing only grilled steak towards Ariel who leaned against the wall, looking away from him.

She then moved her gaze to the enticing grilled steak in front of her and swallowed hard, she really tried everything in her power to resist the irresistible alluring scent of the steak but she just couldn't.

Her stomach grumbled aggressively so loudly and she saw the scornful smirk Jacob had at the end of his lips as he watched her. He was supposed to leave so she could devour the delicious meal in front of her with no mercy.

But Jacob only sat and adjusted himself more comfortably on the chair even with the vicious glare she was shooting at him.

"Tell him thanks but I'm not hungry" Ariel pushed the tray of food back to Jacob and he let out a hysterical laughter while Ariel arched a brow questionly.

Why was he laughing? She never mentioned anything funny or cracked a joke for him to be laughing that way as if he had lost his mental sense.

The laughter died now and Jacob said to Ariel, "seriously?, You are not hungry?" He scoffed. "I love your mean attitude and the way you always act so rude but that wouldn't save you from hunger. You better eat up. I promise not to stare at you if that's what you are trying to avoid'' He threw his hands up, looking away from Ariel while smirking.

Ariel stared at Jacob and only smiled, that smile was to pursue any signs of hunger that were showing up in her face which led Jacob into thinking she was starving. She was really starving but she had to act as if she was not to prove to Jacob he was on the losing side here.

He was just here to taunt her on purpose which Ariel wasn't going to give him a chance to.

"Tell father, I'm grateful for the food but my tongue isn't going to touch that" Ariel pointed to the food. "Or if you don't want to, then you can eat the food yourself because you look really hungry and I promise not to tell my father" She smirked watching the hideous look on Jacob's face.

He came to taunt her but she beat him to the game.

Jacob smiled, running a hand through his raven hair. "That's a pretty bad mouth you got there and you are pretty good at pinpointing when someone wants to play games with you but I didn't come here for that" He pulled the chair closer to Ariel.

"I came here to help you escape out of this shit hole, you seem desperate for it".

If Ariel wasn't paying attention to Jacob before, then she was now. Her ears pulled up and widened when she heard Jacob drop that statement.

Could he be kidding her or was he really sincere in helping her escape or was he just trying to lure her out of here in the name of helping her escape and then land her into another trouble than the one she was in already?.

Ariel knew Jacob was as sly as a fox and he only played games and was never serious about a damn thing. But if she wanted to escape from here with his help since he was the only one that wanted to help her escape, then she might as well accept his help.

But not without outsmarting him, Jacob was sly and smart and if he wanted to play games with Ariel, then he got the wrong person because as desperate as Ariel was with escaping, she wouldn't dare to fall victim to another much alarming trouble.

Ariel scoffed, crossing her arms between her chest and locked her gaze on Jacob's, saying to him, "Why would you want to help me escape? And how do I know this isn't one of your mischievous tricks and a way to make me fall victim to another damned trouble than the one I am in already, Huh?".

Jacob smiled, rubbing his jaws thoughtfully. Ariel wasn't a clown so if he wanted to win her over then he got to play his cards right. And after he finalized his thoughts, he then said to her,

"First of all, you got to lay your trust on me".
