CH16 Fire Law and Traitor

When Alodar came too he realized that no corpse was on top of him. "Where'd he go?"

Alodar turned his head to look around.

No one. Complete silence, except for a few chirps here and there, reigned over the small grove.

Alodar realized cold blood in his mouth. He was about to disgustingly spit it out when Temporal stopped him.

{Wait young one! Drink the blood! It will help you heal and gain skills!}

"Owkay, bwut I dwon't swee whow twhis is gwoing to whelp,' Alodar gargled.

He sat undecisive about what to do. On one hand he can drink it and potentially gain powerful skills, or two, he could not a save himself from the cold revolting taste.

Alodar had to make his decision fast because the longer he waited the worse the blood tasted in his mouth.

'Welp, here's goes nothing,' Alodar encouragingly thought.

With great determination, Alodar swallowed the revolting blood of a wolf. It tasted so bad Alodar had to get on his knees to resist puking.

Alodar didn't have to wait long, although it felt like forever to him, because he heard a notification from Neowalt.

[New bloodline acquired!]

[Bloodline: Infernal Chaos Bloodline]

[This particular bloodline increases the host's ability to sense fire or fire related laws. The bloodline has a drawback though; it needs a lot of strength to synchronize with the host]

'What's the requirement?' Alodar wondered and decided to ask Neowalt.

[28 points in strength]

Show my stats,' ordered Alodar.

'Guess I can't use the bloodlines powers yet,' Alodar whined sadly. He was hugely disappointed at his inability.

{Oh! Yes! I forgot to mention something!}

"What is it," Alodar replied depressed.

{you've almost reached the limit of talent for time magic! It seems even if you didn't have the system, this body is still quite talented in time magic; almost as good as Fletcher!}

"Who is this Fletcher you keep mentioning?" Alodar was quite annoyed at the repeated mention and praise of the man named Fletcher.

{He's your ancestor! The Silver Mage no less! He was the one I gave my blessing to, and why you have your time sage bloodline slightly altered by me! Oh! What a tragedy! He was the best user of time magic and he knew how to use it wisely! What a tragedy! He turned himself to stone in his flying temple after sealing his best friend in a amulet! Ohhh! What a tragedy!}

"Whatever, let's go into the bandits hideout." Alodar ignored most of what Temporal said, but he at least heard about the part of Fletcher being his ancestor.

He walked for a good ten minutes and finally arrived at the hideout. Alodar was at its entrances; reaching for the metal doors.

A loud explosion was heard. Temporals voice didn't seem to amused as he spoke a few words.

{It's the traitor...}

Alodar was alarmed because when Temporal doesn't end a sentence the way he normally does; things tend to start spiraling out of control.

Alodar looked towards the explosion and it was dying down although there was still fire burning up the poor landscape.

There were shouts in the distance and when Alodar looked to see who the people shouting were, he noticed an old man carrying a ten or something year old girl; the princess.

Alodar wanted to yell and say "I'm over here," but he knew that might draw attention to himself and even if they did come to get him, it would expose the princess to more danger.

Alodar snuck inside the hideout and immediately spotted a bandit.

Gliding to her in a not-so-fluid manner, since he lost his cheat-like skill, Alodar tackles the girl.

When he looked in her eyes he saw hope and utter confusion. She was scared and didn't know know what to do. Alodar looked in her eyes and did what every good hunter should never do; look into the prey's eyes. Her eyes were a deep blue that seemed to emphasize her sharp nose that slight protruded from her face. It made him feel guilty and depressed.

"I can't do it! I can't do it!" Alodar looked down and was almost in tears.

He got up and punched the innocent girl in the jaw; knocking her unconscious.

He ran down the hall, passing an intersection and took a sharp turn left.

Lyner was sitting in his office when an old man walked in gracefully; almost floating.

"I would like the princess back."

"The Fire Sage I presume?"

"Yes," came the Sage's reply.

"Then let's make this quick." Lyner got up and readied into a martial arts stance.

"You should've just stayed down." The Sage looked at Lyner arrogantly and put forth his hand.

"This might hurt, a lot..." a blinding explosion exploded from the room and split the hill that the hideout was hidden under.

The gapping hole was seen even from the Willow Duke Mansion(the mansion that Alodar lives in).

Terrance looked up to meet the impending doom that covered the sky.

He looked aloof instead of his usual clumsy demeanor.

He looked neither concerned nor distressed.

"It's gonna happen soon; the battle of the Fire Sage and Alodar. It's not too far off..."

Terrance continued his job of picking out Alodar's lessons for when he returned.

He had already been asked by the duke of he knew where Alodar was and he said no, but obviously he was lying because he was looking in the direction of Alodar just now.

His eyes were glowing with a swirling galaxy within, as if he was looking into the future.

Terrance's skin fell off out of nowhere and on its place stood an elf; a star elf.

His name was Inthumeius.
