62 Midtown

General POV:

The call doesn't go unnoticed to Shawn, as he was expecting it. The omnics literally spammed the same strategy in battles across the world. It proved effective against those who underestimated the omnics, but once you're expecting it, their strategy loses its potency.

Turning, Shawn saw another Huntsman on their flank, with its own detachment of Bastions coming from their left. Seeing this, he knew they were coming from across the bridge over the Hudson River, which was the direction they were originally heading but got turned around with the absurdness of the Trump supporters.

Using a map provided to him by Abigaile, he calculated the nearest and best possible location to house all the survivors while fending off the onslaught of omnics. The hard part was convincing the Trumpists to retreat to the location. Turning to the nearest supporter, Shawn says to him,

"We're winning this fight, but I think that we should probably do it like how Trump would and take this fight to the Grand Central Station in Midtown. There we could hold against these omnics just like how Americans would do."

All supporters who heard Shawn stopped firing at the omnics and grew still as their brains processed what was said. The guy with the bison horned hat steps forward and addresses everyone.

"What he says is true. Just like the first Presidential Debate of September 2016 when many parties came against Trump and tried to assault him, but he stood his ground. Just like we will stand our ground, as is our rights as Americans!" From out of nowhere, he pulls out an American flag.

"For Trumps America!" He shouts and cheers erupt all around as Shawn shakes his head in disbelief. They then begin to sprint towards the Grand Central Station, with the Overwatch operatives falling behind them, laying down covering fire for the supporters.

Surprisingly, the team of recruits assisting on this mission who once were about to give up, have a newfound confidence and now have coordination, trusting in their leaders. With Reinhardt now shielding their retreat, the soldiers took turns moving back into building to building while making sure that Reinhardt himself didn't get overwhelmed.

We continue like this until we cross the bridge leading to an all too familiar clock resting on the building with an intricate design, incorporating numerous arches and columns.

Rushing into the building, it wasn't a hard decision for them to hold the omnics off at the Vanderbilt building as soon as they entered. Although Shawn didn't quite know the protocols to Overwatch, he could guess having survivors as the first line of defense wasn't exactly orthodox.

However, reasoning with any Trump supporter is neigh impossible, so the Overwatch soldiers were alongside the brave Trumpists, ready to repel the attacks of the omnics. Of course, as there were many entrances to Grand Central, all areas had soldiers in the event of the inevitable flank.

Using tables turned over to their sides and pillars as cover, everyone pointed their weapon at the entrance, where they waited for the enemy to show themselves. Reinhardt wasn't necessary for this initial engagement, but stayed near the front in case things went awry.

It was eerily silent as they waited for the omnics to show. After a minute, a soft thump could be heard in the distance. Their view through the many double doors leading to the main concourse was obstructed due to a sudden unsettling of dust, which meant the exact location of the enemy was currently unknown.

"Hold." Shawn says to everyone, noticing the anticipation from the Trumpists, which would lead to them wasting necessary ammunition on nothing. The synchronized thumping grew louder, signaling that they were drawing closer to the door, but fortunately, no one took a shot.

Through the dust, red lights of the Bastion's eyes cut through the dust, revealing that they were entering the building.

"FIRE!" Shawn shouts and a flurry of bullets launch towards the opening of the door. The higher-grade assault rifles tear through the metal of the Bastions, dropping them to the ground after only a couple of shots.

After some minutes, the Bastions struggled to even walk through one of the many double door entrances, getting held all the way back to the street.

The Ravager on the roof of the nearby building knew that they were going to be prepared for a flank based on its experience from the last engagement, therefore, it calculated a new plan for these high value targets.

The torrent of bullets suddenly stopped as the defenders realized that there weren't any more targets. Taking that time to reload, the Trumpists relaxed, knowing that they just owned the Bastions that just attacked them.

The Overwatch operatives knew, however, that nothing is ever simple with the omnics and prepared for the worst. A loud thump snaps the Trumpists back into focus. Although it was a distance away, it was evident that the source behind this was large.

The loud thump edges closer, and the Trump supporters' strain to see what they're up against, but the dust cloud blocks their view. Suddenly, the loud thump stops while it still hasn't closed the distance to the entrance and there was nothing but silence.

An oncoming whistling is then heard that rapidly approaches the building. Veterans of war, and those who have handled any type of rocket launcher, recognize the sound immediately. Dropping to the floor themselves, they yell out,

"Rocket! Get Down!"

Those that have the reflexes to do so, instantly drop as the rocket collides with the entrance. Those that were unfortunately slower, get injured on debris from the blast.

People struggle to their feet, while others remain on the ground in a daze. The ones with a faster recovery or whoever was unaffected by the blast look at the damage to see a gaping hole in the building, revealing outside. However, what concerned them more was the two ATW Huntsmen dauntingly standing just meters away with lines of Bastions on walking on their position.
