1 The All-Seeing Eye

"Happy Birthday to you!... Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday.... Happy Birthday Dear Sky!"

It was my birthday. Everyone was happily celebrating. My Foster parents and friends from the orphanage we're all wearing a happy face except for me, the celebrant.

"It hurts!...."

In the exact day of my 16th birthday, I felt excruciating pain on my left eye. I locked myself up in my room trying not to worry my parents and visitors.

"Why is this happening!?....."

I couldn't take the pain anymore so I decided to tell my parents.... but as I was walking towards them, I fainted.

"Sky?... What's wrong... Sky!??..."

I still remember seeing my mother's worried face before completely fainting. She looked so sad...

"CALL AN AMBULANCE!!"

The last thing I remembered was hearing my father shout. He sounded so worried. I didn't know they cared so much about me even though I'm not their real son.

When I woke up, I was in the hospital bed, completely fine, the pain was also gone but there was one problem.

"Huh?...."

At this time, I was confused because my left eye wasn't seeing any colors. I even tried to think of an answer but not knowing the reason would also mean not knowing the answer.

I was lying down in the bed... Staring at the ceiling, dumbfounded by the things that was suddenly happening in my once peaceful life.

"Sky? You're awake? I was so worried that you won't wake up again after being asleep for 3 days!"

My mother came running to me as she hugged me while saying these. I almost cried because I really felt her love for me at that time.

"I'm sorry for making you worry Mom"

Although I was still confused by what's happening at the moment, apologizing to her was what my reflexes made me do.

"Mom, Can we get my eye checked? I think my left eye has a problem. It's not seeing any colors."

"What? Is that because you fainted earlier? Is that a side-effect?", she asked.

"Don't worry, I'll call the doctor now to get that fixed."

My heart was pounding so hard that I thought it was gonna come out of my mouth. When I saw the doctor walking towards me, I was so worried if he says that my eye condition is incurable or something not known. And it seemed my worries were on mark.

"There's nothing wrong with his eyes. It may just be a side effect from sleeping for too long. His left eye will go back to normal soon with enough rest.", with his kind voice, the doctor reassured my mom that I was okay.

<Ping!>

The sound rang as soon as the doctor finished talking and it seemed like I was the only one who can hear it. The doctor glowed red! I was confused, shocked and dumbfounded by what happened.

"Ah!!", I shockingly shouted.

"What's wrong Sky?, If you're thinking why your father isn't here... he's at home doing work because he's busy doing our online business these days.", she said.

"Nothing.. I was just happy that my eye condition wasn't that serious.", I replied as I smiled to assure my mother that nothing's wrong.

"Okay... if you say so.", mother replied.

A few days have passed... My left eye is still not seeing any colors. Everything was gray. My right eye was normal anyway so I always close my left eye and cover it with my bonnet hat.

One day, as I was walking home from the Net cafe. I stopped by at a bakery to eat.... but suddenly... Someone whispered into my ear..

"You're not a chosen one so why do you have the [ ALL-SEEING EYE ]?" she whispered as she took my bonnet hat off me thus uncovering my left eye.

I turned around and saw a girl.... The image I saw when I looked at her was indescribable. Golden hair with a pair of blue eyes... her small face combined with her lips with the color of a pinkish rose... wearing a black hoodie with a short denim pants that show off the white skin of her leg... and behind her were beautiful lights that enhance her beauty on another level. It was jaw dropping. Her beauty could capture the hearts of men and women alike.

As I stare dumbfoundly into her she raised her eyebrow and glared at me. I immediately came back to my senses and realized that she asked a very wierd and peculiar question. Still very confused, I asked her....

"Huh? The all-seeing what?"
