33 The Infernal Tribulation! Part 1

The sun seemed to hide in the sky extremely afraid of what was about to happen.

Five different color clouds seemed to manifest out of thin air.

The wind blew as Lie Wei Ying unsheathed his sword and activated his [Cloud Defensive Arts].

The [male praying mantis strikes back] blades were in his hands.

The system was laughing proudly. This was the day his boy finally reached the Nascent stage. It had been such a long three days and he was proud of the boy. However, he started getting worried suddenly. Why were there fire clouds in the sky? Unless he was mistaken, Lei Wei Ying was only at the purple infinity core stage. Did he grow so strong that he was becoming an immortal?

"Uhm, Lie Wei, if you survive this remember to never waste your points again."

Lie Wei Ying hmphed, "You're acting like I can't handle a little tribulation. Remember last time how it just bounced off my shield? I'll handle this, and then we can finally go get experience!"

The system sort of just laughed. He didn't want to burst the boy's bubble. Indeed, it seemed the child was so powerful he had been noticed by the gods. Perhaps next time, god forbid Lie Wei Ying doesn't survive, he would take it a little bit slower with his next master. It seemed some big men were about to unleash the infernal tribulation. And first, there would be the twenty-seven-hell lash lightning. The system gulped in denial. Nothing could kill this boy!

"Fire!"

Divine pressed a red button as the first thunder bolt shot up.

"Woo hoo!" The Chancelor of the Universe screamed in delight.

Yu Yan was flying in the area and saw the clouds changing. The entire sky seemed to be turning black, which was odd in these parts. Usually it would be of a red sort and give off a mood of bloody death. This was more like the mood of the end of the world or something.

She looked over towards the horizon. It seemed like the sky was burping out lightning in purple and white flashes. She hoped whoever it was that was becoming an immortal would survive. In fact, maybe she could even get experience off the demons who tried to kill the man receiving the infernal lashes.

She immediately flew towards the lightning.

Ying Yue sat in her throne room at a similar time.

She had sent spies after Lie Wei Ying and had just found out about his plight. Part of her was very mad at the gods. It made no sense to give a golden core cultivator a tribulation for immortals! However, when she looked over at her dead father in the air tight casket she kind of understood. Yes, he was incredibly overpowered for someone his size. Perhaps the gods would get revenge for her father.

However, it would be better if he lived, so they could have children.

"Hmph, is this the best you got!"

Lie Wei Ying unleashed the [peerless smash to victory].

A spiraling bolt of molten lightning collided with a red shadow ape of immense power.

One roared with thunder, and the other roared with a primitive wailing.

"Boom!"

The lightning dissipated as Lie Wei Ying huffed and puffed. The clouds sprinkled with little bolts of lightning. Unfortunately, Lie Wei Ying still had eighteen more molten lightning lashes to go, and after that he'd still have to deal with the tribulation of the heart!

Unfortunately, several terrible things could happen during the challenge of the heart. You could end up getting sucked up in a world of illusion and be forced to live countless lives until you discovered a truth of a mysterious law! Usually, this would help you reach a cosmic immortal quicker, however; was Lie Wei Ying at the stage yet where that challenge would benefit him?

He was, first off, like 4 stages away from that. He still had to reach the Nascent stage, Budding Soul stage, Emperor stage, earth god stage, and immortal stage first! The system almost couldn't believe this was happening. He even had a house that looked really cool in the OP world in Lie Wei Ying's brain!

"Hang in there kid!"

Lie Wei Ying shivered as the fire clouds seemed to mix in a stream of rainbows into its bolts. The five colored clouds were starting to fuel the infernal clouds! This meant the strikes would get even harder now!

Divine watched on in disbelief as the boy seemed to survive his twelve attacks in fear. However, he was also terrified! Usually when he granted the 27-infernal lightning to immortals they would die and be forced into their spirit form. Then they could become soulless immortals, however; the boy was still hanging on.

He felt a hand touch his back that looked at him with acknowledgement. He'd been trying to figure it he should turn up the ferocity of this attack using the tribulation switch. However, everyone seemed to agree with him. He slowly raised it up to the 10th degree.

What was the 10th degree?

It was the highest level a tribulation could be at! Yes, now he'd surely die. It was terrific!

"Uhm, System, If you've been holding any secret features back now would be the time to give me them!"

Lie Wei Ying activated his [OP lotus steps of the earth dragon] and charged up into the clouds. This was the twentieth bolt. He figured if he went higher it wouldn't be able to hurt him as much. He soared into the clouds and brandished his swords.

"[All good things come to the end!]"

What looked like two hundred dragons clashed with the bolts of lightning peeking out of the clouds.

"Boom."

Blood shot out of Lie Wei Ying's mouth as he soared tragically into the pavement down below him. The rocks melted from the heat of his body, as he struggled to move his arm.

The sky seemed to get happy, however, regardless, it prepared its twenty first, twenty second, and twenty third lightning bolt. It was the tribulation committees decision. Kill him while he was down!
