38 The Four Unfortunate Old Wise Men

"So, what do you think is calling me system?" Lie Wei Ying flew to the east. He had this feeling in his gut that something was calling him back on Dragon Mountain pass. However, he had ended up so far away from it after being stolen away by Yu Yan.

"Uhm, I'm guessing you're sensing a treasure destined for you. Perhaps its calling you to it."

There was such a thing as treasures that were destined for certain people, and since Lie Wei Ying was a Cosmic Nascent Cultivator there would be lots of calls! Having anyone reach the Cosmic level before becoming an immortal was very attractive to treasures. Lie Wei Ying was probably being pulled by a treasure with an eager heart.

Items at the god level and above all had sentience, and all would seek masters. They could even betray them if they weren't treated properly.

Lie Wei Ying felt the call of one such item, and he flew quickly. His speed had increased almost 200%. He was now as fast as most earth gods without using the OP lotus steps of the earth dragon.

Lie Wei had received a huge boost in speed from the space and Time dao. The space and Time Dao was one of the five paths to above the Cosmic immortal level, and it was one of the keys to unlocking it. The fact that Lie Wei Ying had even had 15% mastery in it probably made half of the treasures on the planet take notice.

If it wasn't for the purple infinity core stage such a thing would have never been possible! It gave him enough time to gain experience at a lower stage, and because of that he would always be stronger.

Truthfully, the system also liked the name of it as did Lie Wei Ying. It was utterly profound!

"So, the treasure is finally calling someone."

Four old skinny men sat down around a box table. They seemed to be profoundly wise, and somewhat confused from their old age.

"The great Lord and Savior of us all is upon us. We will no longer have to suffer the tyranny of the great Monarch. We will soon be free to leave this world, and once again join our home worlds!"

One of the four skinny old men nodded.

"Yes, it is about time we had some hope. The great Monarch is always waiting for us in the space above this land. He has shackled us down for longer than I can remember."

The old skinny men when they arrived were merely young adults at the Budding Soul Stage. The average lifespan of such a cultivator was nearly 100,000 years. They looked like they were about to keel over. The grim reaper was waiting for it.

The grim reaper, by the way, was still training. He put Lie Wei Ying's picture up on the wall, and used him as his motivation.

Today he would collect more souls, and cause more people to die!

"Four years until our showdown Lie Wei Ying!" He killed more people than he used to in honor of his upcoming battle. The death system was slowly giving him experience.

Regardless, the old men just sighed. If only they were a little bit younger when the savior came, perhaps they'd have been able to breach the void and reach the threshold of immortality. Something about being under someone else's control really made it hard to train.

The four old men were waiting for him floating in front of a small doorway in the sky. It would be hard to notice if you weren't called to it.

The winds blew against his face, and touched the five faces next to each other.

The old men gawked as they saw their savior. He was so small. How was he supposed to save them?!

"Who are you people, and why do you know about this place."

The system, at this time, was finally reading about upgrades. He was very proud of how well it worked when Lie Wei Ying was about to die.

Truthfully, he never told him the real reason about the purple infinity core stage. Only those who had unlocked the constitution of the gods could become true monogods! Luckily, the boy accepted it. If he didn't, he would no longer be able to be the most powerful man in the universe!

"Savior!" The four old men finally bowed when they saw the slight glimmer coming off Lie Wei Ying's body. The sun hit him just right, and they felt his profound power!

"Uhm, I don't need fans thanks." Lie Wei Ying took out his swords and got ready to kill them. They knew about where the treasure was and this meant death!

"Wait, please great savior. We just want you to save us. We have been waiting 90,000 years for you savior. Please give mercy to us old man."

Lie Wei Ying looked at them confused. "You mean you're not trying to steal the treasure from me?"

"NOOOO! You'll need it to fight the Monarch Knight!"

Lie Wei Ying stopped gripping the blade so tight. He finally had a chance to be evil, but they took away his motive. It was times like these he wished he was just a little eviler. It would make it so much easier to get experience.

"Great wise young one. Please go in and face the challenge for the eternal sovereign gauntlet. When you are done, we are sure you will grow to a profound level! Lie Wei Ying didn't want their help. He had enough of people trying to help him. It was all throughout his many lives that he listened to others, and he always died. The system nodded in approval. "Yes, be a little evil Lie Wei Ying. It's always better to be a little evil."

The old man groveled even further down. One of them was even rolling and pleading at the same time! It was like a skill he got from being weak all these years.

"Uhm, take the door on the right instead of the left when you reach point 99. You'll receive an easier challenge. The other challenge is nearly impossible!"

Lie Wei Ying smiled and pat the old man on the back.
