2 Future Pokémon

"If you don't take RISKS, you can't create a FUTURE."

A few minutes later, I skidded my bike to a stop at a clearing near a water stream. The water stream was large enough to be called a river. I could already see many fish pokémon jumping over the water surface.

I turned my bike off and after parking it aside, I waked towards the clearing and took out the portable tent. It was a tiny little device, about a foot long in each dimension. After pressing a switch, it got rapidly expanded into a cosy tent enough for two people.

The tent was four meters long, three meters wide and two meters tall. It had an inner section for sleeping, an entrance hall and an additional portable shade if required.

Once the tent was set up, I called out Charmander. "Charman. Char" Charmander greeted me with an excited smile. I patted his head and said, "I want you to keep on practising your move sets. After your energy's exhausted, start doing push-ups."

"Char. Char." Charmander ran away after nodding in affirmation, while I took out my laptop and starting writing down my future plan. Not too much into the future, but what I would be doing next.

I opened a text document on my laptop and starting typing the pokémon I would be collecting that would make up my main six and substitutes. I started with Charizard, Gyarados, Scizor, Umbreon, Dragonite, Lapras, Arcanine, Gardevoir, Milotic, Greninja, Meowscarada, Tyranitar, Garchomp and if possible, Mewtwo. The only types lacking were Electric, Dark and Ghost.

I would love to catch Zeraora and Marshadow, again, if possible. I was not sure if it would be possible, but I would definitely try my best. After writing the names of the pokémon, I started writing about where I could possibly find them.

I already had a Charmander, so I crossed the first one out. For Gyarados, I could find a Magikarp in the southern seas of Fuchsia City. To the north of Fuchsia City is the Safari Zone, where I could not Scyther and Lapras, but also a Dratini.

And if I was lucky enough, I could find an Eevee right in this forest. I could catch a Growlith, the pre-evolved form of Arcanine in Route 7, east of the Saffron City.

Ralts and Feebas, the non-evolved forms of Gardevoir and Milotic, respectively could be found in Hoenn region, on Route 102 and Route 119, respectively. Whereas, Larvitar and Gible, the non-evolved forms of Tyranitar and Garchomp could be found in Mt. Silver in Johto region and Wayward Cave in Sinnoh region, respectively.

Both Greninja and Meowscarada were starter pokémon of Kalos region and Paldea region, respectively. I would be gifted Sprigatito, the non-evolved form of Meowscarada after I get my first gym badge. And since Froakie, the non-evolved form of Greninja, was also a starter, I could easily get it from my Grandpa's connection.

The only truly hard-to-get pokémon were Mewtwo, Zeraora and Marshadow. Both Zeraora and Marshadow were mythic pokémon of the Alola region, making them even harder to get. But in fact, I was currently aware about the location of Mewtwo. It should be on New Island, near Cinnabar Island. It shouldn't be long before it escaped from there after killing everyone.

After writing the locations of these pokémon, I saved the file and put it under password protection. I wasn't worried that someone might hack into my laptop. After all, me being an IT guy in my previous life, a programmer in cyber security at that, definitely came in handy.

Even with how advanced this world's technology was, in the digital aspect it was still lacking a bit. Even the programming language here was only at the level of C. So me being the Great God Gary, made the entire C++ language from scratch, well, not entirely, but you get the point.

After finishing my work, I called back Charmander and started preparing breakfast before I went out in search for an Eevee. Charmander quickly arrived and dived into the dish I prepared for him. I was mostly nutritious pokémon food with some lovely flavours, whose recipe I learnt from Delia and Daisy.

Oh, talking about that, did I tell you that Delia was actually a former pokémon trainer and dreamt about being a model? But she gave up on both because of Ash's father. As for the reason, even I wasn't sure.

While Charmander was busy eating up the delicious food I made, I checked his current stats.

"The Exp booster is definitely working fine." I muttered to myself as Charmander level-upped by 1 within half an hour, and that too, purely by training. Not just that, it has also gained three EVs.

Talking about EVs, they quite different from the game ones. In this world, a pokémon can gain a maximum of 100 EVs for every stat, except HP, for which, a pokémon can gain a maximum of 200 EVs. Every EV point was equal to 1 stat point.

For instance, the effective HP of Charmander due to its Racial Value, Level, and IVs was 22. And after adding the single EV point, it would become 23.

Time passed by as we filled our stomachs. After packing up, I recalled Charmander and headed in search for an Eevee. I already had a general idea in what areas they would be, since I memorised the map in my Grandpa's lab.

As the strongest local pokémon trainer, it was his duty to ensure that no strong pokémon roamed near Pallet Town. And as a Professor, he also noted down the habitat of all the types of pokémon found in these forest so that a civilian did not accidentally trespass it.

Not just that, he must also ensure that humans do not damage these living habitats of different types of pokémon.

Anyway, no matter what, it was beneficial for me, and I was happy for that. Thus, I activated the GPS map and rushed out at the speed of 60 km/h to catch my second pokémon.

Well, actually it should be my first, since I didn't 'catch' Charmander. At least, my first wild pokémon.
