28 Chapter 26: Bruh

It annoyed him the most when these nobles are having a shouting game in front of his liege. His liege, the king, ruler of the Re-Estize kingdom.

Now inside the Valencia palace, which is within the Ro-Lente Castle. It is located in the center of the Royal Capital, separated by a wall containing 1,400 meters' worth of land. Twelve cylindrical watchtowers protectively surround it. The Valencia Palace in the Ro-Lente Castle consists of three sections, including the residence location for the royal family.

"He's the savior of the city of his majesty! Of course, for his deeds, he deserves to be knighted!" Shouted one noble, and from the way he said it, Gazef concluded that the guys must be in cahoots of the Royal Faction.

"Are you ret*****?" Said one of the opposition.

The room intensified more. The nobles continued yelling insults at each other. Gazef wanted to sigh badly but he can't or else these asshats will turn unto him and will affect his liege.

Gazef cannot possibly give his liege more problems to face with.

After being silent for the entire hour, his liege, the king, finally spoke, and now It's the turn of the loud nobles to shut their mouths.

"Enough. Let us discuss this for another time. Dismissed."

"Understood, your majesty."

All bowed for unison and all done.

The noble faction won the day, stopping the Royal faction about their move on making and binding a powerful ally. It is the reason they have fiercely defended their positions.

His liege must have realized that pushing the nobles more might escalate.

Gazef then accompanied the king out of the meeting room and as they are moving through the long corridor.

Gazef sees the many heavily armored men on the sides.

These are the knights that protect the inner areas of Ro-Lente Castle. These high-level soldiers whose duty was to protect the Royal Castle and members of the Royal Family. The recruitment is strict that only Gold-plate level or Difficulty level of 31-40 could join. They were primarily second or third-born sons of noble families who had little chance to inherit titles, lands, or wealth.

Still, he heard his liege sighed. He continued escorting the king, who is walking with a cane.

Rampossa III, we can describe him as being an emaciated old man. His head is already scattered with pale white hair.

His liege inherited the throne, their Kingdom was already in a dire political state because of the mistakes of previous kings. Throughout his king's reign, he saw him tried to reform the Kingdom but failed, and during a previous annual war with the Baharuth Empire, the king sustained a grave knee injury and now requires a cane to walk.

"Anyway... Are you sure that is it the same man?"

"Yes, your majesty. It is indeed Momon."

It also surprises Gazef to learn that it is that man. The man who saved the village of Carne. Gazef does not doubt the man's adventurer team's strength, being able to defeat a group of knights of the empire and now a strong undead.

Gazef is grateful that someone strong like Momon would do something great again, someone benevolent like Momon surely deserves to be knighted, but Gazef doubts that the man would accept to be a knight.

He seems to be a guy that will refuse such things.

'He's strong, I hope we can exchange some notes someday.'

"I see. It's a shame that I can't thank him in person."

"Don't apologize, your majesty."

"Momon saved a village and a city from the Crown's domain, I do not want to look ungrateful."

'He's better than the supposed "nobles" of this kingdom, he deserves a title at least.' Gazef thought, they may not have a lot of time knowing each other but from a brief interaction with Momon, he can confidently say that he's not just strong, he also possesses a noble soul.

The Adventurer's Guild has a strict rule about intervening in human-to-human wars. Momon certainly knew it, that's why he asked him to not reveal his involvement.

Occupied by his thoughts, he became alerted when a person is strolling straight towards the king. Only to realize that it is not a threat and became relieved.

"Father!"

"Princess, slow down..."

It's a young girl with long golden hair, silky smooth and supple as it drapes over the back of her neck. She has vibrant, dark blue eyes that shine like sapphires, filled with warmth. She wears a fashionable white dress, which further strengthens her image of purity while being followed by a young man with short blonde hair wearing pure white armor.

'He's like a walking [Continual Light] spell.' He chuckled in his mind. The young woman is Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself. It is indeed a mouthful. That's the case for the names of royals, which require five names, and because of that, the Blood Emperor is subject to mockery by nobles. Indeed, she is his liege's daughter.

The young man in pure white armor is her bodyguard; being her bodyguard is a source for the nobles' anger. "Why is the golden princess have a commoner as her personal guard!" They say, and yes, this guy is commoner like himself.

Despite that, they do not interact or talk that much.

"Oh Renner~ what is it?"

'As always, his majesty has a soft spot for Renner.' The king's tone changed. Let's just say that Renner is special for the king, even when's she's in the marriageable age, she's not been engaged with anyone yet. Compared to her two other's sisters who have been married off already when they came to age.

"I need Father's permission for my friends' visit."

"Miss Aindra's and her companions? Sure~ No need to ask me for that."

"Thank you, father!"

Renner then thankfully bowed to her father while Gazef is happy inside to his liege.

He must say that his instincts giving him "false" alarms. Why is it going up to some extends when this girl around?

As if something is off...

On the Fifth Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. There seems to be a constant blizzard in effect throughout the area's terrain, leaving nothing but some snowstorms trailing at its wake. Snows are always falling on the area's surroundings nonstop.

The snow driven by the blizzard went in all directions, obscuring all vision and covering up footprints. This was to waylay any intruders, but under normal circumstances, the weather on the Fifth Floor was not so bad. The clouds which covered the sky would only dispense scattered snowflakes.

This is his domain. This is what the Supreme Beings have tasked him to protect and oversee.

There's a place there that resembles an overturned vespiary, surrounded by six floating pillars of ice. The walls, ceiling, and furniture seemed to be made out of ice. This was probably an artistic decision. Aside from that, it wasn't much different from a regular home. However, it was big enough to include a conference room.

Big enough that he could swing his swords without a problem anywhere in the interior while in his original form.

Standing at 2.5 meters, but he still felt the room is spacious is a testament to how big the place was.

Much as he appreciates his master's gift that gave him a new form — a humanoid form like his Momonga has.

That form is 15% weaker than his original and he is much used to him having his many limbs, his much larger stature, and natural armor.

He always needed to be in top form to protect the domain that the Supreme Beings have given to him!

'But I will still strive to have many loyal offsprings offered to Ainz-sama! To bolster our forces!' It's so poetic that he almost shed a tear from his own thoughts.

His vassal then interrupts his imagination about the glorious future.

"Cocytus-sama, what must be done? Ainz-sama has given these troops." Said one of his vassals, it has the appearance of an insect and also looks humanoid, being able to stand upright.

'Oh, this. I must finish this task first.'

The undead army consisted of a total of 4950 undead monsters, not including the commander and their retinue.

The army is composed as following:

*300 Undead Beasts

*2200 Skeletons

*150 Skeleton Archers

*100 Skeleton Riders

*2200 Zombies

His great master had ordered him to only use the troops given to him but why? Why him? He is his master's sword. He does not have the intellect that Demiurge possesses.

Maybe he just can't fathom his master's plans.
