Prologue: The Reserve Tomb

A skeleton awakes from the inside of a stone coffin. In the dark abyss of the coffin it asks to itself "Where am I?"

It bangs its skeletal hands on the roof of the coffin, hoping for a reply. It can only hope for an answer, a rescuer from an abyss of emptiness.

Suddenly, the abyss is opened, light can be seen. The skeleton lifts its torso out of the coffin, wondering where it is.

"Brother. I welcome thee into our tomb." A voice announces to the skeleton.

It was none other than another skeleton, dressed in golden armor with two horns protruding from its helmet. The golden skeleton gave his hand to help the newly awakened one out of its coffin.

"Where am I?" The newly awakened skeleton asked.

"The Reserve Tomb Of Nazarick, brother." The golden one responded.

"Brother, according to your armor, you are a skeleton warrior. I welcome thee into the service of the Tomb."

"I do not know how to fight." The awakened one responded.

"Brother, 'fighting' is in your bones. Come with me and become a pillar of Nazarick!"

The two skeletons left the grave site, looking back, the awakened one saw only half of the massive room of coffins opened. The tomb seems to be nearly abandoned. The two walked through the long hallways, seemingly walking past the same door infinitely. Every few minutes they would encounter another skeleton adorning less beautiful armor than the golden one, but they had no time to converse.

"Brother, hast thou checked thou stats?" The golden one asked.

"Not yet, how do I do that?"

"Imagine thou self broken down into core aspects."

The awakened one did just as the golden one instructed. It opened up an unfamiliar menu in the hallway. The menu outlined the skeleton's core attributes.

"Thou art has good potential." The golden said after looking at the awakened one's attributes.

"Not many warriors have a stat over 5 in this tomb, Brother."

"Why do you call me brother?" The awakened one asked.

"I may be one of the strongest of this tomb, but brother, we were all created by the supreme beings. Even now, more brother are born every week or so, but we are all brothers."

"Do you have a name... brother?" The awakened one asked.

"I am one of the few who do possess a name, I am Doorman, For I have held the door in the midst of a hostile invasion. The door to the tomb remains strong in my watch."

"Do I have a name?"

"Brother, you will eventually, maybe one better than mine."

The two continued to walk down the large and seemingly endless hall. The awakened one followed Doorman for what seems to be an eternity for the newly minted skeleton warrior. The halls were always adorned with red banners, some had skulls floating above tables, doing bookwork. The halls were still endless, no matter how lively or unlikely it seemed.

"Brother, we have nearly arrived at your patrol district. I am sorry brother, but thou shall be alone for this patrol. I hope you learn to hone thou skills on some intruders. The back entrance to the tomb is quite lively right now."

Doorman stopped at a medium sized room built of cobble stone. The room was nearly empty, except for a few scattered corpses of what seemed to be humans.

"Brother, I wish thee the blessings of the Supreme Beings in guarding district 4, sub-district 66. Guard this room with thou life. Watch that hole in the ceiling, make sure not to let any intruder live."

Doorman handed the awakened one a medium sized blade, it was wrapped in plain cloth and seemed to be quite old.

"Brother, thine armor should protect thee to some degree, use this sword to execute intruders. I shall come back for thee in 3 day cycles. May the Supreme Beings bless thee."

Doorman left the room and closed the door behind him. The awakened one stood next to the door and started its 3 day long shift of door duty.

This is probably the first novel that I genuinely want to continue.

Btw, feel free to point out grammar and spelling mistakes, I will fix them whenever I can.
