67 INVASION BEGINS

For the last 3 days, many things happened in the Greenwood City. Lord Kuro, Mayor Yang Qi and other clan leaders personally announced to the whole world, that the Royal family of Human race will be arriving in this city in 4 weeks. It really was a bold move, considering the number of enemies the Royal families had.

Lord Kuro made personal tours around the city with Mayor Yang Qi to oversee the city defences. He publicly expressed his displeasure at the city security and even harshly berated the Mayor in front of the entire city Population. Few soldiers stood up for Mayor Yang Qi, but they were mercilessly beaten to inch of their life. Only then did most of the citizens remember, who Lord Kuro is.

He is someone who killed millions of cultivators without blinking his eye, with just a order from Empress Ichika. It doesn't matter whether you are good or bad, as long as it is a order from her. Strangely, most of the citizens accepted his cruel side and even joined him, in complaining about the poor city management.

There is really something strange going on here. The Yang family is known for their absolute discipline and the soldiers are always on guard, even during peaceful times. Also it is not the style of Royal family, to publicly berate anyone. More than anyone, they clearly know not to mess up with public morale. They always swiftly dealt with useless officers instead of putting up a show. Yes, this all seems like a show, but why are they doing this?

Then there was mass search across the entire city. Almost each and every house, hotel and establishments were turned upside down. They were even able to capture few of the so called remnants of the destroyed sects.

But that was just the beginning. The Beastmen Emperor Luke Lionheart and Dragonoid race Princess Astarte also caused a lot of fights during their stay in the city. There was always a three way fight between the human, beastmen and dragonoid races. The fights escalated to such heights that they even sent for reinforcements from their homeland.

What shocked me the most is Emperor Tianlong personally brought the reinforcements and immediately confronted Lord Kuro and Emperor Luke of their poor treatment, towards his darling Great granddaughter. The confrontation ended up with a huge 3 way fight between all the 3 powerhouses, which became the talk of the entire world. They even destroyed parts of the city and took to the skies, before almost killing themselves. It brought goosebumps to who ever witnessed it. All 3 of them unleashed powerful attacks without even holding back.

The fight was only interrupted by Lord Jean Silverstone, who came to visit this city to pass orders from Prince Zetsu. Everyone expected him to put an end to the fight. At first he tried to negotiate which failed and turned into verbal spars and then turned into physical fight. Soon he too lost his cool and joined the fight. This time Crown Prince Zhulong and Commander Wolfgang joined the fight. What started as a 3 way fight ended up as a 6 way battle royale. Only when all the clan leaders interfered, did the fight came to a stop. Despite their fight in the skies, they ended up destroying most of the city walls and ended up killing more than 60000 citizens. It resulted in an immediate curfew in the city by mayor Yang Qi.

Only a select few were allowed outside the city and no one is allowed to use their soul sense without proper permission from the officials. As a reporter I immediately got my permission and I went to the city morgue to do a cover story on the 60000 innocent citizens, who died during the fight. But just as I removed the covers from their bodies, to take a picture, they all vanished with a puff of smoke. It really scared the hell out of me and I even questioned my sanity, whether I am actually seeing things or dreaming? But I quickly dismissed those thoughts and went around the city to see if any family is mourning for the loss of their dear ones. Surely these 60000 citizens should have their families in this city right? But I didn't come across a single sad family apart from few soldiers clearing up the rubble caused during the fight. This entire things smells of huge conspiracy.

The next few days, large number of soldiers were moved into the city to maintain the peace in the city. There were even large number of rogue cultivators visiting the city in order to witness more fights between the elite cultivators.

Large number of restriction seals and quarantine formations were placed along the destroyed city walls. No one knew, what was going inside these formations, everyone assumed it as reconstruction of the city walls. But why use formations, when building simple city walls?

I even noticed Mayor Yang Qi and 3 other youths in serious discussions with Grim Stronghold, Alvian Morningglory and Reed Tealeaf from the Nightwing organisation. I never saw these 3 youths before, but I can clearly tell by Mayor Yang Qi behaviour that these are definitely very important people. But why does a government official like Yang Qi listening to these 3 youths?

Also why did Nightwing organisation leaders arrive in this city silently. Surely they made good connections with the Empire, during its reconstruction and earned more profits than anyone, but they are not here to merely participate in the construction of city walls right. I will be the biggest idiot in this world, if I believed that.

Following 2 weeks, I concentrated more on the movements of Mayor Yang Qi and the 3 youths. As expected they are not ordinary ones. During this time, almost all the clan heads, Emperor Luke, Emperor Tianlong, Lord Kuro and Lord Jean all took orders from them, especially the youngest of the 3 called Kin. The clan heads even addressed him as General. I almost slapped myself 2 to 3 times, to confirm it is not a dream.

Finally as it is nearing the end of month, the entire city was brought to life from its gloomy state. The restrictions surrounding the city walls were lifted revealing advance siege equipment on the walls. Qi ballistas, Energy Cannons and Arrow launchers were placed at advantageous positions along the city walls.

Energy Cannons are the newly developed war machines by the Nightwing organisation. Instead of a Qi gathering formation like the Qi ballistas, they purely use Spirit stones. The higher the quality of the spirit stones, the better damage they can do. Unlike a Qi ballista, the Energy Cannon can destroy large groups of enemies with a single attack. So it explains why the heads of Nightwing Organisation appeared in this city silently. They are selling this dangerous machines to the Empire.

Rows of soldiers with at least Type 10 black armors stood on the walls. They are also covered in strange talisman barriers. They are equipped with swords and shields. Soldiers also took position behind the ballistas and cannons. While 3 soldiers are placed behind the arrow launchers.

The arrow launchers need 3 people to make proper use of it. 2 soldiers are used to refill the arrows in the cylinder slots, while one soldier will adjust the position of the arrow launcher and launch the arrows.

There are also rows of soldiers behind the city walls equipped with bows and arrows. Lord Jean, Yang Ye, Jiang Yan, Ouyang Shuo and Yang Qi were on the south side. Princess Astarte, Wolfgang, Ruby, Huang Bin and Lilly were on the North side. Emperor Luke, Emperor Tianlong, Luo Gan, Wang Jian and Zhulong on the west side. Lord Kuro, the 3 youths and General Wu Yi are on the east side.

There is also Zhang Yi, head of Zhang clan, Lin Biao, the head of Lin clan, Cheng Bing, the head of cheng clan, Deng Yu, head of Deng clan and Shen Faxing the head of Shen clan. They are all leading their clansmen and elite soldiers to patrol inside the city.

Just what is happening here? All the 12 clan heads are present with their elite soldiers here. Also when did lord Wu Yi arrive here. He is famous among all the clan leaders as the strongest, so why did he slip into the city silently without any notice. Dammit, this is no longer a welcome party but a full scaled war.

But who are we fighting against, that requires all these generals here. Maybe I should escape from this place as I am getting bad premonitions. Eh, aren't they the imperial guard? What are they doing disguised as vegetable vendors. I visited Prince Zetsu quarters so many times, that I can identify most of these fellows any time.

Hmm, why do I feel like General Wu Yi and Lord Kuro acting as bodyguards to these 3 youths. Clearly the arrangement of the soldiers around them, only means that these 3 youths are not simple. Could they be the Royal family members? Definitely possible, as only they can command Lord Kuro.

*GULP*, if they are Royal family members, then why are they still in disguise and whom are they preparing to fight? This is definitely not about the remnants of the destroyed sects, as Lord Kuro alone can take down all these cultivators. Then who is it? As if answering my thoughts, the entire Greenwood city was covered in a powerful aura, forcing most of them onto their knees. Then the Youth called Kin, quickly went through several hand seals.

*Boom Boom Boom Boom *, suddenly 4 thunderous booms resounded across the entire Empire. 4 purple lightning pillars rose from the ground, along the 4 borders of the Empire, soon they all radiated high concentrated energy to meet at a center point, forming a perfect intersection. From this intersection point, the energy took the form of a paper thin layer and covered the entire Empire. Soon it was followed by smaller layers of energy fields covering villages, towns, cities, major cities and Capital. The entire Greenwood City was also covered by similar energy field, lifting the pressure acting on the citizens.

I ignored my safety and immediately rushed towards the city walls, to have a better look. Thousands of Spiritual boats are flying toward the city, with a strange Red Bull banner flying on them. In my entire life, I never saw this banner. As soon as the spiritual boats took their positions, millions of soldiers poured out from these spiritual boats.

They are all high god level cultivators and are dressed in red armor. But despite the huge advantage in soldiers numbers, why don't I see any discipline, Unity or morale in these guys. Also whats wrong with most of these soldiers? are they sick or what? just as I thought that, few of these 'sick' soldiers fell down and lost their lives. Then the entire city heard an angry voice filled with fury and vengeance.

"SHAMELESS BASTARDS. HOW COULD YOU USE COWARDLY TACTICS LIKE POISON ON MY SOLDIERS?"

Following that voice, a lone cultivator appeared at the head of these soldiers. He has green hair and is dressed in sparkling silver light armor. But why does he appear 'sick' like the rest of his soldiers?

"Auron Greene, the moment you lead your soldiers to conquer this world, is the moment you forfeited your life. Woah, I never expected to share my little present with you, but seems like your luck ran out. How about you and your soldiers surrender to us? maybe I can give you the antidote and spare your life. Otherwise you are gonna die in less than 5 minutes."- Kin

'little present, it's definitely poison'. Also what does he mean by this world? could they be the invaders from another world foretold by Empress Ichika. This is big news.

"Hey boss are you there?"- Clark

"Are you feeling ok Clark. It's rare for you to contact me on your own. So how are things going down at Greenwood city? As for where I am, things are looking a bit hectic here.
