1 Nazarick

(Small note: I have redone most of the chapters.

(second note: I have edited everything but there might be some weird inconsistencies and there are some chapters that I have to rerelease.)

In a grand room.. two beings, a skeleton dressed in a magnificent robe and a purple slime were seated at an enormous table.

"I didn't think you'd come you have been gone for a couple of years." Momonga a skeletal overlord was talking to one of his companions.

"No way has it really been that long. Man, I guess I've been working so much my concept of time is out of whack." His companion herohero, a purple slime had been working in real life.. causing him to at first gradually reduce his playtime until he eventually just didn't come online..

"That sucks, it can't be healthy for you." Momonga had always been concerned over all the guild members.. he was a great listener thus becoming close with everyone over time.

"Tell me about is, I feel like my avatar looks. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come here just to complain." Momonga couldn't help but agree.. herohero's avatar was a slime.. but looking at him now he was barely standing straight..

"Please don't worry about it." He didn't mind listening to his friend's life.. even if it wasn't the most glamorous news..

"Well, I better go soon, I am beyond exhausted." Momonga halted what he was doing... a bit shocked..

"Right. Rest up and feel better." Disappointment… not in herohero but just the situation.. that this was

"Wish I could stay longer, but got to say I'm kind of shocked to see the great tomb of Nazarick still standing. Being guild leader suited you, you've done a great job maintaining the place." Herohero suprice was justified.. if they had been raided when they didn't have any money for upkeep anymore than they would be ruined..

"Well we created this place together, me and Akabaru couldn't let it got to dust." Momonga and Akabaru were the only ones that were still somewhat active.. although Akabaru was reducing his playtime even before the game shut down..

"Akabaru still playing the game. Well even with his help it must have been hard work... Thanks for everything. I hope we meet again irl." With that the purple slime disappeared

Leaving Momonga alone…

'Today is the last day Yggdrasil servers will be online. Why not stay, we could reminisce and wait until everything shuts down for good. Haa.. oh well I'm happy he showed up unexpected in stead of saying he is will be here and not showing up. I hope we meet again huh... right, just when and where would that be.'

"This sucks! This is our home. We build it together with virtual blood and sweat. How can he turn his back on it so easily." Momonga hit the table eh was sitting at shouting the words out with immense fury.

"Stop it he didn't. no one in the guild betrayed you." Just as the fury came, it subsided..

'The guilds weapon. The staff of Ainz Ooal Gown. We played recklessly to make it ,some of us even spent our pto (paid time of) just to grind materials.'

'But among the original 41 members 36 of them quit. Then the 4 that where left…'

"Let's go you're a testament of our guild." He picked up the staff and he walked out of the conference hall with the item equipped.

There were two requirements for joining the guild Ainz Ooal Gown.

The players avatar had to be inhuman and the player themselves had to be a functioning member of society. We put our livelihoods on the line to play. Some members managed to make their dreams come true. In the end I can't blame them for choosing real life.

-

As Momonga left to the throne room Akabaru appeared at the round table

"Sorry, I'm late Momonga. Momonga." The genie looked around the conference hall, not seeing the companion that should have waited for him there.

Along with his companion, Akabaru found that the guild weapon also went missing.

"Dammit, he said he would wait for me." He had been at his job only an hour prior, if not for someone else covering his overtime he would be at it until midnight.

He looked at his screen and searched his friend list.

"At least he is still online. Wait does he still have the call function on mute…. This sucks now I got to find him." He muttered while walking to the exit of the conference hall

Akabaru wondered where Momonga would be, and concluded that he must be in the throne room or something, adding in his mind that Momonga liked to brood there.

Akabaru exited the room to find none of the Pleiades at their station, meaning that they were ordered to move.

-

As Akabaru enters the throne room, the room is grand, with collom after collom alining the walls with each guildmate's flag hanging on them, as he entered he saw Momonga looking at and editing Albedo's setting.

"Tabula wouldn't want you to touch his setting he worked hard on that you know." He committed before Momonga noticed that he entered.

"Huh!" Momongo looked up closing the settings immediately when he heard Akabaru's voice

"Hahaha what were you doing, to immediately close it ones someone else arrives." If not for the skeletal face of Momonga, Akabaru was sure that he would have blushed.

"It's nothing." Momonga looks away while lying through his bones.

"I know it is something, why don't you show me." Akabaru stood next to him staring with his lifeless face into the skeleton's non-existent eyes.

it was in his nature to be curious,

"No, it's just embarrassing, so forget it." Momonga turned the other way avoiding Akabaru's sight..

"I won't judge, just show it to me" It was a clear-faced lie, editing someone else's stats was wrong, although there would be some exceptions to the rule.

"Fine... " Momonga opened the window again, showing the part that he had altered in Albedo's bio.

"[She is deeply in love with Momonga]" Akabaru read aloud. seeing the skeletal overlord cringe in embarrassment.

"Il change it back." he says. Still embarrassed..

"What was It originally?" he was curious, Akabaru didn't believe that Momonga would do such a thing without a reason after all.

"That she is a bitch.." He could see Tabula writing something like that in Albedo's bio, he just never understood why.

"...ooh.. both are bad, just keep this one or change it to something more wholesome.." Akabaru didn't like characters with hidden faces… although he knew Tabula liked those types, he preferred the vanilla much more, but then again characters staying to their nature was something he enjoyed..

Shaltear would most likely have the whole fetish wiki in her bio.. but at least she was made to be like that.. albedo was different.. she hid everything behind a dignified face… and while he knew that Tabula liked those types of characters he didn't..

"Something more wholesome like what?" just as usual, Momonga wasn't really full of imagination.. He wasn't either, but everyone had their shortcomings.

"Well I don't know, just do she loves the guild or something.." Akabaru didn't want to change it to much, but loving the guild seemed to suit her character..

"That would be better ye…" Momonga nodded, using the guild weapon to edit the words he had previously written down..

Momonga could be seen changing the settings of albedo one last time while Akabaru was watching the clock tick down to its last minutes.

"He Momonga, wanna open a server to chat some more or do you have work in the morning?" Akabaru didn't have much besides the guild, he had gotten the opportunity to be promoted, but hadn't shown enough ambition inside of the company so he was passed up... in retrospect, he much preferred how it was now. he didn't have any real liability in the company and had more freedom instead of more duties.

All in all, he believed he would die either way... living such a shitty life without people to enjoy it with was not something he was interested in.

"No, I have work, maybe tomorrow, or maybe… oh how I wish the game would just go on." Akabaru could hear the desperation in Momonga's voice..

"You know that that's impossible." Akabaru was also sad about the servers closing.. but he didn't have as deep of a connection as Momonga

"I didn't think you'd come for a second Akabaru." Momonga turned the subject, voicing out his doubts.

Momonga paused as he looked towards the throne room.

"Hero-hero was here but he left early… too bad you guys didn't meet for the last time in the game… He said to hopefully meet irl. I know that it is impossible, but I would like that to happen." Akabru reflected on those words, they were hopes, but at the same time empty promises...

"You know Momonga, if you want I will find a spot to hang out at.." He knew the names of the guild members and was willing enough to see who was near him... so he knew how far it would be to meet Momonga, but he was willing.

"Yes, I would like that…."
