Benjamin believed that Estelle had noticed that he had a thing for Sun.

Her strength and ambitions weren't enough to smite him down, but that strength and her prospect of wielding the sun had marked a spot in his heart. He wanted to have Sun and felt bad about it since he already had a girlfriend, who was so adorable and was even her younger sister.

He'd put those feelings on hold to respect his girlfriend. He'd given her so much time and even followed after her to The Phantom World, in which their feelings blossomed. She had won his heart and took the majority of it, but Benjamin's feelings had never been so simple.

Once he felt something for anyone and anything, he'd not so easily give up on it. For that reason, he could be with various strong women and put up with them, only to break when a chance to improve himself appeared—a chance they wouldn't be able to give up themselves.
