Archer's P.O.V.

My name's, Archer, I'm fourteen years old. I'm a half-elf, transgender male. That's not really important right now other than getting kicked out from my home for it. Both my parents are human, well, my biological parents are dead. I was put with two humans instead of a human and elf, the humans didn't treat me well at all.

I have to go to a group home for people like me, half elves, I hope I'll be safer there. I've been dealing with abuse from humans for a couple years. I don't think I can't take anymore abuse, I just want to be left alone.

I'm in the car that's driving me to the home, I'm nervous, I have to breathe though, people can't see me vulnerable. The car pulls into the driveway, jolting to a stop.

"These kids are very nice, I think you'll get along with all of them, also what's your name, it says here that your name is Angelina," the woman who drove me here questions softly. I shake my head no at that, it's my legal name but not my name.

"I go by Archer, I hope that's okay," I respond with a small smile, it kind of hurts when I smile because they're mostly fake. She nods and crosses out the name on the sheet and puts my real name down. She opens the door and gets out of the car, once she's out she opens my door.

"Thanks," I mumbled, I don't mean for it to come out like that it just does. She glances at me with pity in her eyes, I hate being pitied. She leads me inside, she keeps sneaking looks at me as we walk. I stop when I remember something, 'don't get too close to anyone, you'll get hurt'

My birth mom had said that right before she departed, I don't remember a lot about her, she died when I was six. I do remember my dad though, he was great he would take me to ball games every week. He passed when I was nine, I really miss him.

We walk inside and there stands four other half-elves, I don't know their genders. They look at me for a second and then grin. It's like they've seen their favorite person in the world.

"My name is Izzy, my pronouns are she/her," a girl in all black introduced herself. I nod approvingly.

"I'm Archer, my pronouns are he/him, nice to meet you," I beam at her. She grins from ear to ear, she's friendly. 'Don't get too close'

"Everyone, introduce yourselves to Archer, Izzy good job," the person who drove me here demands. She must be the leader of this place or something.

"Okay, Shannon," they all agree. Oh, that's her name, it suits her well.

"I'm Jasper, I use he/him pronouns, I'm happy to meet you Archer," a boy in green and blue  shared.

"I'm Winter, my pronouns are they/them, it's a pleasure," a person wearing a purple shirt adds.

"My name's Coco, my pronouns are she/her, sup," she greeted. These people seem like they're going to actually be pretty cool. I wish I could let myself get close but I can't.

"It's really great to meet all of you, I never knew other half-elves before," I confessed. They all smile.

"None of us did before we got here, it's like a safe haven around here, away from parents who never understood," Jasper interjects. Wow, all of them must not have been wanted either, maybe I can let my walls down. No I just met them I should keep them up for a bit.

"Archer, how'd you get here, what'd your parents do," Winter nagged, isn't that a bit personal to tell someone you just met. Whatever, might as well, not like anything will happen if I do.

"Well... My birth parents have parted, my human parents, they were horrible to me for being a half-elf, they abused me mentally and sometimes physically. I finally fought back and then they kicked me out," I explain to them. They look at me with a look of pity in their eyes, why'd  they ask that question.

"That's horrible, a similar thing happened to me," Winter admitted, it happened to them too, makes sense then.

"Everyone, you should go get ready for bed, we've got a long day ahead tomorrow, Archer you'll sleep in Jasper's room with him because there's a bed empty there," Shannon let's us know. I smile and nod.

"So, Archer, what's your sexuality," Jasper pries as we walk to our room. I blush at him and look down.

"Tha... Fine, I'm gay, I like men," I declared to him. He smiles at me with his eyes. People keep asking me personal questions.

"Oh, really me too," he admits. Well, rooming with him is going to be fun, I wonder if he's going to develop a crush on me. If he doesn't then I might get one on him, what if we date? This is so weird to think about we literally just met.

I hope he's not a transphobic gay.
