Prologue

On the Year 2021, just after midnight on New Year's day, strange occurrences happened all over the world. Portals to other dimensions (dubbed Gates), filled to the brim with monsters, appeared randomly in places, towns, cities, some even in the ocean. But the strangest thing of all where the people, everyone who was Sixteen and over gained mysterious powers, some could control fire, others had insane strength or speed, and some could transform into monsters or animal. Soon enough these abilities were given rankings L being the lowest and SSS being the highest, people with lower ranks (L-F) were looked down upon as they were viewed as weaker and inferior, meanwhile the higher ranks (A-SSS) were looked up to viewed as heroes and superior. Our story takes place 20 years later.
