The wailings of the dead are all over the place. Although I managed to get rid of most of the undead in the nearby vicinity for my convenience in taking out the Gluttony during Night Rage, their numbers will not diminish just by that. Looking below the ground, I can see the undead running all around the place though they don't form a horde but only a few groups that amount to around 3-5 undead per group.
