19 Misunderstanding

"Hey, Suga hyung!" Tae-hyung called from across the room. He and Ho-seok walked to where Yoongi and Seo-yeon stood. Both with smiles on their faces aimed at Yoongi. He silently groaned in annoyance, 'Great, they're mistaking this for something it's not.'

"What are you discussing here?" Ho-seok aimed the question at Seo-yeon. He hoped to get a reaction from her, as Yoongi is a lot harder to read.

"We're talking about how she didn't know who we were until she got this project." Yoongi glanced at Seo-yeon, half smiling. Knowing how uncomfortable she may be if they found out about what happened on their vacation, he told half the truth. 'It's not my place to explain.'

"Really?" Tae-hyung and Ho-seok were surprised to hear this. They had never met someone in the entertainment industry that didn't know them. They usually meet photographers that do everything in their power to photograph them. Sometimes without their permission.

"Yeah, sorry. I've only been here for about a month, and I was never into pop music...or boy bands." She looked at her hands which were clasped together. She felt so embarrassed having to explain this to these extremely popular men. She didn't want to offend them, and make a horrible first impression with clients.

"It's no big deal. Don't worry about it." Ho-seok laughed and patted her on the shoulder. Seo-yeon looked up and sighed in relief when she saw all three of them smiling. They seemed very friendly and not at all like entitled celebrities. Using this moment to change the topic, she briefed them on Monday's photo session. They worked together for twenty minutes before Jimin poked his head in to let them know they would be leaving in thirty more minutes.

"We better get going. It was great meeting you Ms. Park." Ho-seok politely shook her hands. Tae-hyung shyly waved at her from behind him. They both began walking to the door, and paused when they realized Yoongi wasn't with them.

"I won't tell them about the beach house...or Jin. That's up to you and him. I hope you don't plan on keeping us knowing each other a secret. I don't want any misunderstandings." Yoongi gestured towards the door. Seo-yeon smiled with sympathy when she saw Tae-hyung and Ho-seok whispering to one another. The last thing that she wanted was any confusion among them.

"I agree. You can tell them how we met, that'll explain how we already know each other."

"Thanks. I'll see you Monday." They waved bye to each other, and she watched as Yoongi ushered the other two out of the room. Realizing how late it was, she grabbed her bag, and headed out. She waited patiently for the elevator to open. The doors slid open, and her breath caught.

Jin stood alone in the center of the enclosed space. Neither broke eye contact. She couldn't read his expression. He moved to the side, allowing more room for her. She entered, leaving space between them.

"How have you been?" Jin finally asked.

"Good. Did you enjoy the rest of your vacation?"

"No..."she glanced up at him as if to inquire why, "I missed you."

She looked away. She wanted to cry out in happiness, but knew there were too many questions left unanswered.

"What happened to your shop?"

"I told you I planned on getting a better job to support my family. That meant the shop had to go."

"How'd you get this job?" Jin knew he was going to regret asking the next question, but he needed to ask it anyway. "Did you actually know who we were?"

"What?" She stepped back in shock. Was he doubting her honesty? "Are you asking if I lied when we met? If I used knowing you to get a job?"

"I hate myself for even thinking it." Jin stared at her with pain in his eyes. Her response was enough to show that he had been wrong. He wish he had never asked. She was offended, and had every right to be. The doors opened, and Seo-yeon angrily marched out. Jin gently grabbed her arm to stop her. No one else was in the lobby, and he knew he had to hurry back to the garage before they began looking for him. He didn't want to part this way.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked that."

Seo-yeon pulled her arm away, and took another step back. "No, it's fine. We only knew each other for a week. I shouldn't have expected you to fully trust me. I didn't know you that well either."

"Seo-yeon, I really am sorry."

"No need to apologize. How is that Yoongi didn't question me? I expected an interrogation from him. I guess that just proves how little we all knew about each other."

With nothing else to say, she left. Jin stood ashamed of himself. He didn't try to stop her. He knew he messed up, and that words would not fix it.
