6 Chapter Six

The Sea of trees was endless and extends as far as the eye could see, whenever Vritra pass by, the sturdy trunks and branches would sway a bit, while the vibrant green leaves rustles lively. Due to the slight drizzle of rain, the vast trees were like stars in the night sky that glitters beautifully.

Vritra was flying leisurely, taking her time, she was not in a hurry to arrive at the winged serpent settlement where the medicinal plants and herbs where being collected. Before arriving in the Everswamp City where the royal families lived, she needs to pass five more settlements.

Her azure fleshy wings expanded majestically and flap steadily while heading towards her destination. While breathing a mouthful of fresh air, she noticed a disgusting odor-like substance mixed within, she felt like she was eating mud and a pus-like smell assaulted her nose, she almost vomited.

"What is that disgusting smell?" Because of her curious nature, she couldn't help but go to where the smell originated from.

At the distance of twenty yards, Vritra sensed that the disgusting smell was coming off of the four people whose eyes are currently close and completely focus on pouring energy towards the golden sphere which the woman was holding.

However upon closer observation, she couldn't help but shudder and fear crept slowly in her heart. "Why did they come here...did the Silver King didn't notice them?" Vritra's thoughts slowly descend into chaos.

Memories of the past flashed by and forgot about the strength she has now, this proves how traumatic the event was before they arrived at this place and before the Silver King rescued them.

They came out of nowhere, and with one wave of their hands destroyed the heavens, with one stomp of their feet created massive earthquakes, her Dragon tribe whose power was unrivaled met their nemesis: numbers.

The human cultivators that invaded their village were not that strong compare to the leaders of the Dragon Tribe, but their cunning tricks and massive numbers overwhelmed them slowly and finally their leaders perishes one after another. And she saw how the bodies of her brethren was turn into, each dragon corpses was mutilated beyond recognition, their bloods were drained from their bodies, their scales and skins was removed that even their flesh was eaten by them.

Her brethren who resisted were killed and those who escaped was hunted and captured to be turn into resources for their benefits. Not long before her father, the last leader who struggled hard to protect his tribe they were saved by the Silver King.

That's why Vritra saw human cultivators as brutal savages who enjoy killing and are the enemy of all dragon races…

The realm of the mind is a mysterious topic that until now no one has solved. A kind woman can become twisted and murder her family. A murderer who loves killing can mysteriously become a hero. Due to this, the different change in emotion almost cannot be explained.

Vritra's mind was in chaos due to the flash back of before they were saved, at first she was afraid and slowly she becomes angry then anger turned into madness and then madness turn into blind rage. She heard her people's shrill scream and the begging for mercy came out of the mother's mouth to spare their child.

She saw the fear, humiliation and anger plastered on the faces of the warriors who fought back to protect their love ones.

"HUMAAAAANS!!" a roar that created violent winds assaulted the surrounding trees and destroyed the lands below. Vritra who's -Chaos Armor- was intact moments ago now has fissure all over it.

Song Hai and the others who were calmly pouring their qi towards the golden sphere felt shock in their hearts. Feeling that voice, they felt fear and trepidation of the battles to come.

"Elder Song, let's get ready, the moment I activated this sealing formation array, is the time we escape!" said Zhang Min worriedly, she couldn't help but doubt the sealing formation array in her hands if it can even stop the monster they're going to face next.

Nodding his head gloomily, they can feel the suffocating aura heading towards them. "Go all out in increasing your speed…our priority is to escape!"

BOOM!

An explosion that shakes their very soul assaulted them, following the source of the sound; they can't help but shiver of what was in front of them. Without blinking, Song Hai could only stare while their bodies were rooted on the spot.

A full body armor that has cracks all over it appeared in the air, floating majestically. And what blotted out their sight were the giant fleshy wings that have spikes all over the outer edges. But what gives them goosebumps was within the cracked helmet peaking ominously a vertical golden eye that's observing them coldly.

Upon closer observation the full body armor that has fissured all over was slowly increasing! BOOM! Instead of shards that were expected to assault them, surprisingly the broken armor pieces turned into gray smoke. Not avoiding their gaze in front of the enemy, they saw a naked small girl with beauty that can destroy kingdoms!

With a blink of an eye, deep blue scales tinged with gold covered her body, her slender fingers turned into claws and nails that can rend mountains into pieces. Her long crystal azure hair flowed with the wind and horns appeared on her temples and forehead. Raising her right hand slowly, like and enormous wave a pressure rendered them unable to breath pressed against them! They even saw the air was being held in her hand like piece of sheet folded angrily.

Zhang Min noticed this then activated the golden sphere! Instantly vast runic symbols exploded forth and rush towards the dragon girl! The pressure pressing them disappeared and they can finally breathe.

"Good job Zhang Min!"

"Let's go while she's still unable to move!"

Without waiting for a reply, Song Hai and his team sped madly towards the door fifty yards away from their position…

Vritra's sudden stop of movements shocked her and clarity returned to her eyes. Seeing the humans disappeared from her sight, she uses all her strength to break the seal.

Seeing the futile struggle of the dragon girl, Song Hai and the others breathe a sigh of relief, however they suddenly saw the dragon girl opened her mouth to the point that it extends towards her ears and they felt a dangerous feeling coming from her!

Vritra realize that struggling was pointless for a small amount of time, so she uses her -Eye of Iris- and tried to see where they're headed to. Expanding her field of vision, she saw a door that was distorted slightly and was sure that that was their destination.

"You want to escape? That's not going to be easy!" Opening her mouth wide, Vritra gathered the surrounding chaos energy that was abundant in this world and used it as medium to increase the power of her innate skill Dragon's breath!

The chaos energy in a form of glowing gray strings rushed madly towards Vritra's mouth and slowly formed into a sphere. The slowly expanding sphere affected the trees, grass, and dirt turning them into particles and disappeared into the air.

The immense power of the gathered energy shock Vritra and was elated of this new discovery! "This chaos energy has many uses after all!" thinking that this is enough; she swallowed the compressed chaos energy and released all of it into the door at the distance!

The released energy condensed into a single line and rushed towards the door at the distance with a blinding speed. Every tree, grass, and stones were turned into dust. The muddy ground turned into a boiling lava that ravages the surrounding area.

When Song Hai and the others saw the compressed dense of energy, they couldn't help but feel an intense amount of danger towards that gray sphere on the dragon girl's mouth. But when they saw her target was not them, they felt relieve.

"Hey look at where it's headed!" suddenly Zhang Min's voice alerted them, and when they saw the intended target, blood instantly drained from their faces!

"Elder Song! Now what?!" asked Wang Wei worriedly.

His team who was rational at first, slowly turned panic and place their hope on their leader who has unique artifacts at his disposal. But upon noticing Elder Song's pale face, they couldn't help but lose hope.

"Well I guess we can just surrender, but I can't help but feel that we are hated so much in this unknown place, we didn't even get to talk to the dragon girl and instantly tried to kill us" said Li Jie helplessly.

"Senior brother Li's right, that crimson snake princess is much more reasonable than her!" replied Wang Wei with troubled face.

Even when they talk casually, every one of them knows that they can't leave this place alive, for some unknown reason this place doesn't welcome them and instantly recognize them as intruders.

Seeing his team trying to comfort each other in this perilous situation, Song Hai can't help but be proud of them, if it was another person, they would do all their best to scheme and plot then turn on each other just to survive.

Seeing the beam made of pure light rushing madly towards the door, he couldn't help but shudder at the sight of it, but also feel at peace at the same time.

"I'll detonate my soul on that beam of light…maybe I can change its trajectory" said Song Hai calmly and for some unknown reason he doesn't feel scared at all. "Maybe this is what it feels when death comes at you knowingly" thought Song Hai with a smile on his face.

"Elder Song you…" said Li Jie shockingly "We don't need to sacrifice ourselves! We'll have more chance if we surrender!" shouted Li Jie angrily. They were not heroes' just curious adventurer who wants to explore the unknown.

"I'm the leader of this expedition and my orders are absolute! Go!" said Song Hai with a commanding tone, without waiting for a response Song Hai burst into green flames and all his strengths increased nonstop.

With a boost on his movement speed, Song Hai disappeared from his spot and reappeared beside the fast moving light beam that's heading towards the door. Li Jie and the others tried to talk him out of it and find a better solution, but seeing the determination in his eyes they could only continue on while observing if Elder Song's attempt is a success.

Seeing the light beam fast approaching the door, Song Hai closes his eyes. The soul that house chaotic energy from heaven and earth becoming unstable signifies an inability to control it can lead to disastrous consequences. But in this case it was intentional…
