7 Chapter 7

She went to open the front door. Standing there was a rather robust woman in her mid-forties. She had on a somber grey pants suit. It was Cam’s parole supervisor.

“Hi,” Cam greeted her, holding the screen door open. “Come on in.”

“I’m sorry if I’m disturbing anything, but this is one of those random inspections I’m supposed to make.”

“Not a problem at all, we were sitting outside enjoying this beautiful day. Come on out back. We’re on the deck.”

She led Vicky through the living room out onto the back deck. Michael looked up as they came out. Cam made the introductions.

“Vicky Forrester, my friend Michael Gauchet.” Then to Michael she explained, “Vicky is my parole supervisor.”

“Very pleased to meet you,” Michael said, getting to her feet and extending her hand.

Vicky leaned back to look up at the five foot eleven blond in front of her. She shook Michael’s hand. “Michael?”
