1 New Town New Life

I just moved here into a new town. I hated it I didn't know my way around the place and I had to leave all my old friends. I was not ready for this but it was for my dad's new job. He just got a huge offer from his old work to change company's. I don't know what was so great about this one its literally the old one just cleaner and slightly larger. Mother was excited about the idea though. Me and my older brother, Griffin didn't get a say in this at all. I don't think my brother cared though he just graduated high school and doesn't have plans for college. Me still being 16 had to get through high school still.

There was just one thing that was different from normal. Everyone in this town was different from us. They were all vampires. Not your typical vampire that you probably hear in stories. These ones weren't afraid of crosses, they could be around garlic, and could freely be around in the sun. They were almost no different from us, just they actually crave blood its not like they need it to live they can just crave it. This made me an easy target since I'm human and all. Chances are they wont bite me but I'll still be cautious just in case.

We were still riding in the car to our new house. I honestly didn't know what to expect. I watched out the window as houses went by one by one. they were kinda big some even looked like mansions. The house we used to live in was never this big. "Mom are you sure we are in the right area?" I was confused these houses looked way to expensive. My dad made money but not like this. "Oh yeah sweetie we are your dads company is giving him a huge raise also they gave him a little extra before they gave the offer here." Mom smiled she was happy dad was smiling he was happy. So our house was apparently going to be this mansion looking thing in some weird town living with vampires. I was definitely not ready for this. I probably sounded ungrateful I wasn't just this is a lot for me. From living in a normal town with normal friends in a normal house.

"We are here!" My father had a huge grin on his face and mother was awestruck. I looked at the house it was well huge I don't think I can transition from a one story house to this. it was beautiful though. It had pure white sides and a chocolate brown roof. we had to open a gate to get in and drive around a driveway or path I don't know. In the middle was a fountain it was white and had an octagon like shape. The water was crystal clear. It was beautiful. I looked at Griffin he didn't seem to care about the house he was more worried about what was on his phone. I just stared out my window I didn't know what to say. My father was still grinning like he won the lottery. When our car finally stopped mother practically jumped out of her seat. She was smiling like she never smiled before. I've never seen her this happy. I slowly walked out of the car just dumbstruck at all this. Father walked out the car and mother practically jumped on him. Griffin walked out he looked around a bit he was emotionless as always. Just went back to his phone.

We were all finally done admiring the outside of the house. We all walked in and well the entrance was big enough. "first things first we are all going to do bedrooms first and then we are going shopping for furniture." Father explained to us. Apparently we could choose how we wanted our bedrooms to look like. Me being plain as ever I just wanted a simple black and white bedroom. Griffin couldn't care less about bedroom choices. We all explored the house a bit our footsteps echoing. Father guided us to three empty rooms and gave us the options to choose one for our bedroom. I choose the smallest one it was still pretty big for being "small". I wouldn't know what to do with all the space and its just more for me to clean and take care of.

The room itself had a large window where it looked like a good place to put the bed. I guess I could open them at night and get some light in this room. I wanted an accent wall I wasnt sure what color yet but the walls themselves were white. Whithin every breath I took you could here it echo in the room. Hanging over bead was a beautiful chandelier. I flipped the light switch on. It was just as beautiful as it looked if not better. it sparkled like stars in the black sky. I turned the light back on catched up with my parents three rooms over.

A few hours after exploring and figuring out where are rooms and where the bathrooms are father dragged us all to where the school was. It was around walking distance. It would probably take me about 30 minutes to get home if I walked. The school overall was pretty normal just like any other school. "Griffin for about a week you will be walking Nia to school and back." Mother told us. I knew she just wanted to make sure I was safe knowing vampires are here and all but knowing Griffin and his phone addiction, I have a better chance walking alone than with him. I sighed "fine." I couldn't really argue with mom she always wins. "And Griffin find some time off your phone when your walking Nia home." Mom said sternly. "Okay okay." Griffin hated this just as much as I did. He went back on his phone it made me curious to what he was doing. I knew better than to take it from him though he would guard his phone with is life.

I was transferring schools tomorrow apparently. I was not excited, I was not ready, and I already felt like I was having an anxiety attack. I didn't know anyone and I didn't know how the school works. It was like today we entered a whole new world.
