1 Our Next Life Together

It was after Ash died, Eiji was depressed which caused Eiji his lack of sleep. He needed sleeping pills to help him fall asleep.

"ASH" Eiji yells in his sleep.

"Hi Eiji" Ash replies with his arms open waiting for a hug.

Eiji suddenly runs into Ash's arms and kisses him. "I missed you" Eiji says with tears running down his face as he looks into Ash's emerald eyes. "I missed you too"

"follow me", Ash said while holding Eiji's hand.

They walked until they reached a high hill where they could see a whole paradise of beautiful trees while the sun shone on their faces. Eiji then put his head on Ash's shoulder. Ash then blushed a little bit and started playing with Eiji's hair. The happiness that Eiji had at that precise moment was enormous but... it wasn't gonna last forever....

"Eiji" Ash said as he looked at Eiji in his beautiful brown eyes. "I have to go now."

Eiji then hugged Ash and touched his beautiful face. "Please don't go yet, i love you Ash please don't leave."Eiji begged with tears in his eyes.

"I'll be back tomorrow Eiji, but you have to promise me that you won't attempt suicide again." Ash says with his voice softly as he looks at Eiji.

"A-Ash...."

"Take care Oni-Chan, I'll wait for you."

Eiji then wakes up and starts crying. He goes to the bathroom and washes his face.

"I should probably go for a walk." Eiji ate a slice of bread with cheese and then went for a walk. Eiji always avoids getting close to the library because he thinks that his feelings will just crash down. He remembers every good memory he had with his beloved Ash.

"What are you looking at?"

"I just noticed that your lashes are blonde too."

"Down there too, wanna see?"

"Really!? Show Me!"

Eiji laughs when he remembers that day. "I miss you Ash"

"Oi Eiji what are you doing here?" Sing screams at Eiji.

"I was walking and i think i ended up here."Eiji replies with a depressed voice and a smile on his face.

'You're still thinking about him aren't you…Eiji accept it he's dead already, it's been almost 10 years Eiji…"'

Eiji didn't say anything but then he looked down and smiled while trying to hold his tears behind. "Maybe if I was the one who gave Ash the letter… Maybe he would have never died"

Sing hugs Eiji and tells him that nothing was his fault, that he was the only one that gave Ash hope and that his death wasn't meaningless.

"C'mon let's go" Sing looks at Eiji with a smile.

Sing then calls Akira, Akira is Ibe-san's niece and Sing's future wife. "We're gonna go somewhere."

Sing and Eiji went to a really beautiful but painful place at the same time. It was Ash's hometown. When they arrived, beautiful and painful memories began to appear in Eiji's mind that he could not contain the tears anymore and he began to bring it all out. Crying while saying that he wanted to die, that he wanted to be with his loved one and that he missed him. Sing started crying as well and hugged Eiji. "Ash loved you so much Eiji and he made sure you were alive because he knew you cared about him. You didn't ask for anything in return and you were there, you helped him realize that he was no longer alone, so please accept it. Accept that he's already dead."

Eiji looked at Sing with his red face. "I ACCEPT IT" Eiji yelled while crying as he hugged him tightly.

50 years later

Eiji was already an old man and he finally went to Ash's grave for the first time.

Sing got married to Akira. Micheal, Max and Jessica's son was living a good and chill life.

"Oi Eiji, how are you doing?"

Sing and Akira arrive at Eiji, who is really sick, almost to the point of dying.

"You're really asking that," Eiji responds with a laugh.

"We came to visit Ei-Chan." Akira said while smiling at Eiji.

"You guys really grew up and made good lives, I'm proud of you both."

"We brought you some sunflowers, we know you love them." Akira said while putting the flowers in a vase that was on a table next to Eiji's bed.

"Mmm Ei-Chan, ¿why do you prefer sunflowers more than other types of flowers?"

"Well it's because it reminds me of Ash. He's blond and beautiful, just like him."

"Aww that's adorable" Akira goes to Eiji and gives him a last hug.

"We're gonna let you rest," Sing said while giving Eiji a last hug before leaving."

"You better take care Eiji."

"Hahahaha do you see how sick i am, I'll probably be with Ash, Ibe-san and Shorter soon."

"Don't say that hahaha."

"Either way, Sing, Akira, be careful on the road."

"We will."

"Cya Ei-Chan."

"Bye Sing, Bye Akira."

Eiji fell asleep for hours and woke up around 5 am because he had a pain in his chest.

It was still dark outside so Eiji had to turn on a little table lamp.

He got up and grabbed a little wooden box that was inside in one of the drawers of the table. Eiji opened the box and grabbed some photos. On the images you could see Shorter, Ash and Eiji. Then Eiji looked at only one picture. It was the sun shining on Ash's face, it was beautiful. He kept looking at the picture for a few seconds, then he took his last breath and closed his eyes while remembering the good times with Ash. When he opened his eyes, he was in a beautiful and peaceful place. He also noticed that he turned into the 19 year old Eiji, he was young again.

He ran until he saw a little house next to a tree. He walked over to the house and opened the door. Then he noticed that there were people in the house. He was surprised to see that these people were his loved ones. Shorter, Griffin, Skipper, Jennifer, Max, Ibe-san and more people.

Shorter turned around and smiled as usual.

"EIJI, YOU FINALLY ARRIVED," Shorter yelled as he hugged him tightly.

"SH-SHORTER" Eiji hugs Shorter happily.

"Ash is waiting for you," Skipper replied.

Eiji's eyes finally found the spark he lost after that day ...

"WH-WHERE IS ASH !?"

Eiji said with tears in his eyes.

"He said you would find him on a hill that you used to go with him"

"Hill??" Then Eiji noticed that he was talking about the hill he used to go to with Ash in his dreams.

Eiji opened the door and ran out in a hurry. When he got closer, he noticed that Ash was standing on a hill next to a big apple tree. It was as if he was waiting for someone.

"ASH" Eiji yelled as he ran towards Ash with tears in his eyes.

"EIJI" Ash yells as he runs towards Eiji with a big smile on his face.

They hug and cry in each other's arms.

"I was waiting for you," Ash said with a broken voice.

"I'm here Ash, I'm here"

Eiji said as he hugged him tightly.

Ash and Eiji walked up the hill. They sat under the tree and held hands as they were mesmerizing a beautiful sunset.

"I love you Eiji"

"I love you too Ash"

Ash and Eiji kissed and stayed together for eternity in that beautiful place, that paradise.

No more pain, no more suffering and no more crying, they are finally together and they will always be together.

They are soulmates and always will be.

Ash and Eiji finally got what they wanted and that for them was all they needed. Now their souls are linked to each other and it will always stay like that, they are connected.

No matter how long it lasts or what happens, Eiji and Ash will always be together no matter what others say.

It is no longer sayonara, now it is Konnichiwa because I will always say hello to you Ash.

"You are adorable Eiji"

This was a fan art written by me which means it's not canon from the manga but only canon from my heart. Many people say that Ash and Eiji can never be together but for me that is not true. Because I believe that soulmates exist ... I had a boyfriend who died of cancer and it still hurts. 2 years have passed since he died hahaha. I connected a lot to banana fish and it reminded me a lot of my boyfriend somehow because he also had to go through alot before dying. I hope you liked it and sorry if it's not good enough i'm still a newbie but i'm trying my best ^^
