137 Potential Threats.

"So he is really determined, huh!"

Aaron closing the laptop mumbled.

He just learned what his father been up to these days from Aurora.

"He is determined to have me sit on that God damned Throne! I can't believe this, our father is now conspiring against us!!!"

He really didn't think his father would go this far.

Remembering the contents of the USB on his hands that her sister gave him, he felt sick.

Seeing Aaron deeply hurt by this, Aurora opened her mouth.

"Father changed a lot ever since the 'Christmas' incident four years ago. He has been secretly playing around against the Blood family, but he has changed recently too much that I don't even recognise him anymore!"

Aurora was much closer to Aiden than Aaron.

So Aiden, conspiring against them plotting things to go his way even though it's for their good.

Aurora felt betrayed by her father.

Being forced to send her to date is one thing, she can understand her father was helpless and couldn't prevent it.

But putting on a play of deceit, that he was forced by the blood but in truth, it was the opposite and was his plan all along!

It hurt Aurora, Aiden played her like a fool.

That aside, there were many other incidents in the past few months that she was frustrated off.

For example, giving her a hard time taking on the position of the branch director of A&T corporation.

An accident that happened months ago, a construction site mishap that took a few peoples lives.

She thought it was the Bloods warning her. All the evidence pointed towards the branch families.

But who knew it was her father all along pulling strings, the branch families acted against her without knowing they were influenced by the patriarch of the Blood family.

False rumours about Aaron and her were spread by Aiden.

Which impacted their image inside the circle of the Sacred noble family and clans.

Assassination attempts to test their limitations and hidden strength.

But her father's plans turned upside down when Aaron repeatedly declined to take the Blood token and refused to be a Blood candidate for the Blood Throne.

"The Blood family currently has many factions. Each has its own, Blood candidate. It's only the current patriarch that doesn't have a Blood candidate yet."

Aaron who was thinking about their current circumstances snapped out of his thoughts and faced Aurora.

"..." Aaron chose to stay silent.

Seeing that Aaron is not speaking up, Aurora went on and continued.

"You haven't formally accepted yet, knowing you? You never will, not now anyway."

Understanding what Aurora meant, Aaron replied.

"Yes, if it were a few months ago? I would have agreed. We are exempted from the world of Sacred families and clans because we still haven't finished our rite of passage yet. We would have lost our protection from the exemption rule but in return, we would have gained a full understanding of the Blood family and its resources. We would have formally joined the fight for the throne, our lives would have been in more danger than it already is. Assassination attempts every week is a drag! The carnage left and right, a complete chaotic war to the throne."

Aaron sighed, turning away from Aurora.

"But now? How can I? I'm trying to start a new life, completely moving on from my past. A new life with someone that I might spend the rest of my remaining years in this life. How can I agree to take the token and become a candidate for the Throne? If I agree, then their lives will be in danger. I don't have the strength to protect them yet, Aurora! We need more time, Nameless needs more time to grow. We only have taken control of one city, not the whole country. Sabastian had to go ask for a favour from 'Yaksha' again to get the materials that Nameless desperately needs! A low tier organisation from the abyss can wipe us out, what can we do when we fight the people from the Blood family? Nothing, we can do nothing!"

Aaron was seething with rage and fury.

He tried to control his emotions but he was failing at it.

Aaron felt weak, powerless and utterly helpless!

Aurora seeing her brothers state, clasped his hand with hers.

"Calm down! Breath in, breath out."

Aaron slowly calmed down, he took a glass of water before he opened his mouth.

"It's not enough, even if he forces an engagement onto you. It will be not enough for me to submit to him."

Hearing Aaron, Aurora replied nodding.

"Yes, I will retaliate if he goes against my wishes. He knows that. Then what? An engagement for you? That's impossible. You will go crazy!"

Shaking his head, Aaron said.

"He wants me to go crazy! So it's possible. I wouldn't be surprised if he did, after knowing all these. The blood family is cruel and ruthless, its always in chaos. That is bound by fate it seems. Our closest allies can become our worst enemies, there are no exceptions. Even our parents are a potential threat to us."

Tessiana's smile suddenly flashed before his eyes just as he finished.

'Will mother, also stand against us?'

Just the thought made Aaron's heart filled with fear! His face became as white as a sheet.

Seeing Aaron's eyes full of fear and his complexing so pale, Aurora guessed what Aaron might have thought of.

With a flash of insight, Aurora quickly told Aaron.

"Discard that thought, Aaron!"

Aaron looked at his sister's, dark green eyes.

"Mother, no matter what will not let anything happen to you. You know that very well! You are the closest person to her. She has always been neutral, she only ever acts when her family is threatened. She will never side with our father because she stopped being his wife the moment she gave birth to us. She and I are similar in that sense."

Aurora was also a mother.

She won't say she was a great mother.

She neglected her children and failed them sometimes.

But she tried her best for their happiness and future.

She lived and died for their sake.

Aurora can see her past self sometimes in Tessiana.

Just like Aurora was as Weiss, Tessiana lives for her children sake.

Aaron tightened his grip on Aurora's hands before asking her.

"So tell me about the rest, since when have you been working along with mother?"

Sighing, Aurora told Aaron how she started working for her mother.

She revealed to Aaron when they were fighting all these months, Aurora was going around uprooting potential threats of the Blood family.

She didn't reveal everything but some parts.

With Aaron in a relationship, Aurora doesn't want to burden him with more work. Nyx was having a tough, he should only focus on that.

Extra baggage will wear him down.

After talking for some time, Aaron gave his thoughts regarding his father's plans.

"I don't think, he will do anything soon. Currently, you have the Johnsons on your tail now. So you will be busy with that. He will leave me alone till graduation, I think. After that, he will start working his plans against me. So we have some time, until then."

Nodding, Aurora replied.

"Since we have a year till things start to get serious, we should also start preparing. We need to expand Nameless' influence. We need to take control of the whole underground world of Country O, in one year."

"Yes, we should have a meeting with others about our plans."

Suddenly, Aaron's phone rang.

Taking out his phone he checked who called him.

Seeing it's Li Hwa, Aaron's eyes lit up.

"It's her, isn't it?" Asked Aurora, seeing her brother's goofy smile.

"Yes."

"Then you should go. We have talked about everything there is and we will talk later with the others when we all have free time."

"Thank you, sister!" Kissing Aurora's hands Aaron replied.

"Then have fun, little brother. I also have some evening plans for my self, so don't worry about me."

Bidding bye to each other, Aaron left.

Seeing her brother leave, Aurora sighed.

She lied about her having plans for the evening.

She didn't want Aaron to feel guilty leaving her alone here.

"We used to be so close, now we don't have time for each other. Though I'm happy for you my dear brother, I feel sad that we are growing up and leaving each other's side."

Aurora felt a heavy feeling of loneliness.

Shaking her head, she took out her phone and sent a message.

A moment later, the person replied.

'Well, it seems I really do have plans tonight!'

Seeing the reply, Aurora got up and left the cafe.

She needs to prepare for her feast tonight.

With wicked thoughts in her mind, Aurora's first stop is a relaxing spa time before going shopping for some clothes.
