12 Chapter 12: First Step
"We shall continue this in my chamber, it will be much safer in there." Crown Prince Mark answered as he slowly stood up from the couch.
Weird and surprised glances were sent to the Prince, but went unnoticed by him as he concentrated on getting up.
Both King Noli and Queen Sina also stood up, Lin went to help His Highness but Rose was already in his side, taking his arm. She helped him walk out of the office, with the his parents behind them.
"This way, Doctor Izamae." Queen Sina leads them towards Crown Prince Mark's chamber.
As they arrived at chambers, Rose guided the man to his bed and let him sit down, while the Majesties sat to his couch placed in the room.
Turning around, she searched for her bag, her eyes darting from her hands to the bed. Rose's eyes widen, she forgot to bring her bag! She was too busy in helping her patient that she literally forgot her bag. She silently cursed at her stupidity, why must this all happen right at her first day!
Rose turned and noticed that Lin have her bag in his hands. She walked up to him, with her eyes locked in him.
"My bag," Rose said silently, reaching for her bag, as she finally have the bag in her grasps, she sighed silently. "Thank you."
Placing the bag to the stool next to the bed, she opened it, taking a small bottle with clear liquid inside.
"Can you take off your shirt and lay down, please."
The Royal Family was completely caught off guard as she said what she said. A woman to see a man's body is something that is not appropriate, especially Rose, who is not yet married. They understand that she is a doctor doing what she needed to do, but to say it in a demanding tone, it is entirely new to them. While most doctors who are men doesn't even mutter a word, and afraid to ask anything for their patient, afraid that if they speak, their heads will be cut off.
The Crown Prince followed her order and took his shirt off and laid down his bed. Waiting for her to say or do something.
"I am going to try and take out impurities out from your core, is that alright?"
Crown Prince Mark nodded in agreement, by taking out the impurities out from his core, he can at least have his senses heighten once again.
A part of him does not want to agree, but he wants to see if this doctor can really cure him, if she can really be trusted.
Moments later, he can feel a cool liquid that was poured in his stomach. It soothed his skin, but what he didn't expect is that a hand ran through his body to spread the liquid in his stomach.
The Prince freezed as Rose's hand ran through his skin. While Rose felt him tense the first time she touched him.
"Relax, I am not going to stab you." She stated, and continued in spreading the clear liquid.
A minute passed and as she kept on rubbing her hands against his stomach, a blue liquid appeared. It felt hot and viscid against their skin, the substance slowly slides down from the stomach to his sides, but was quickly saved by Rose's other hand, to avoid staining the sheets.
The Prince groaned as he can feel the heat as if it's burning him alive, his core feels like it is going to burst from all the pain that he is in at the moment.
"Can I have towels and bowls of cold water?"
Queen Sina quickly called Lin and other servants, and asked him to get towels, with quick feet, Lin ran his way to Crown Prince Mark's bathroom and grabbed the towels that they have asked for while the other servants went to get bowls to be filled with cold water.
Rose ordered Lin to slowly wipe off the blue viscid substance on Mark's stomach, while she cleans her hands with one of the towels.
Servants rushed in with bowls of cold water, careful not to spill it, and placed it to the table beside the bed.
"I need you to dip those clean towels with the cold water and give it to me." Rose ordered a servant, and her gaze shifted to the others "while the rest go grab at least 5 more bowls with cold water."
All of them nodded and hurriedly followed her orders. The servants must follow the doctor's orders, she is the only key in curing their dear Prince, they too cannot handle their Prince's suffering anymore.
Rose was handed a cold wet towel by the servant, she rolled her coat's sleeves up to her elbows and slowly wiped the sticky substance off Crown Prince Mark's stomach.
His painful groans greatly disturbed the King and Queen so much, they cannot handle seeing their son's pain that they decided to walk out of the room, they trust Rose enough to leave their son in her hands, they believe that she can really cure him from the state he is in.
Both Lin and Rose continued on wiping the impurities off of the Crown Prince's stomach and placed the dirty towels on a separate bowl.
Crown Prince Mark have never felt this kind of pain in his life, his skin burning and sweating, it is like he is placed in the pits of hell. Searching for something to hold on, he gripped the sheets of his bed tightly, holding on for his dear life, he kept on thinking that all of the pain will be over soon.
He wants to kill the doctor so bad for not warning him about the intense pain he going to be in, is this what woman feels when in labor? If so, then he now understands how painful it is.
This went on for an hour until he can feel his core's little to no power, his body was exhausted from all the treatment. He breathed deep, in and out, he can finally rest. His muscles sore, and his whole body sweaty and sticky, eyelids heavy as he was tired from all the pain. He thanked the gods that the pain is gone.
Crown Prince Mark can hear Doctor Izamae's faint voice as she ordered the servants on what to do next.
"You are going to be alright now." Was all he can hear from the doctor before his eyelids gave up and finally closed.
Rose sighed as she leaned on the bed's post, she is clearly exhausted from cleaning the Crown Prince's Light Core. With her Healing Core, she pushed all her healing energy towards his Light Core, she knew that healing a rank higher than her will give her a hard time but she somehow managed it.
An A-class healer healing an S-class one is surely hard, her core practically going to give in any time soon, and might put her to unconscious state for a day.
Servants went in and out of the room, taking the used bowls and towels to dispose it, while the others cleaned the room.
Rose picked up the small bottle from the table and placed it inside her bag. She's glad that she had already done the first step of her task, she found out that there was an enchantment placed in the Prince's core. It was the same enchantment that Crown Prince Azu had before.
The enchantment blocks the core from gathering energy, making the person's senses dull and unable to use their. It seals the core shut and the only way to counteract this is to rub the clear liquid to his stomach and push her energy core to his.
If the enchantment pushes or blocks any energy from the core, why not pull it from the core? So, what she did is that she poured a clear liquid that has a great amount of healing energy that pulled the enchantment out from the core.
Healing Cores have the abilities to pull and push their energies, they can connect it to another's body and help them figure out what poison or any ailments a person have. Of course the reason why the other doctors cannot detect the poison the Prince have is because most of them could possibly be lower than A-class and if there was really an A-class doctor that tried to figure it out, it must be that he is not a traveling doctor from Eclair.
This poison that affected Crown Prince Mark's eyes is something that is new to her, she have never seen a kind of poison that only affects the eyes.
As she checked his pulse earlier, she channelled her energy core to his eyes. She cannot figure out what kind of poison it is, it's something new to her. It frustrated her, because she can't go in any further because the poison also blocked any energy to it.
Pouring the same clear liquid to his eyes will not work since it is only for Energy Cores. The only way to figure out what it is, is to investigate and interrogate the Crown Prince and his servants. There must be any clues, and that is why she needs Demi with all of this, a small sniff and he will know if there is a poison in the food.
With exhausted body, Rose took off the sleeves of her white coat and draped the coat to her shoulders. She grabbed her bag from the stool, her eyes then went its way to the Prince's sleeping face.
She must admit, Crown Prince Mark is definitely handsome. His pink lips and cheeks made his face a lot more attractive than before, his face still pale but the natural color of his skin is slowly coming back to him.
Rose left the chamber and went to King Noli's office to inform them of the results.
She walked through the silent hallway, her steps can be heard echoing through the corridor. Finally, she had arrived the doors of His Majesty's office, with guards standing and guarding on the sides.
Rose nervously knocked on the door.
A few seconds later, the door opened in front of her.
"Doctor! How is my son?!" Queen Sina exclaimed as she grabbed the doctor's hand and let her sit at one of the couches. Teas and cookies were set on the table for the doctor to eat, Rose grabbed the cup, checking it before drinking. Seeing that there were no more servants trying to erase her from life's book, she took a sip.
Her muscles relaxed, and her throat soothed from drinking the tea, finally she can drink a tea with no poison in it.
Rose can actually see if something is wrong with her drink, every Izamae can detect a poison from their meals, just like Demi, who can pick up a scent of it just by a small sniff.
Before being a General, David was a food taster, he can taste the meal with poison and will not be affected by it, his tongue will just tell him about the taste and he will know that there is a poison.
Their clan is surely gifted by the gods, and with that kind of talent, it is one of the reasons why their past Queen, Queen Eclair, picked their ancestor to be her apprentice.
Going back to the question of how Serene's Crown Prince is, Rose smiled reassuringly.
"His core is now alright, but it is not entirely clean." She said, "it is not a poison that made his core defective, there was an enchantment placed in it."
Her statement made the parents confused before it turned into fury, King Noli's face twisted as he heard the news, while Queen Sina kept her composure straight but her aura changed.
"Before you let out your anger, I also need you to know that your son is now well. He will be able to use his powers once again, and his other senses will surely come back to normal, well except for his eyes of course. I am still figuring out what poison it is and find the cure for it."
She grabbed her bag and zipped it open, taking out two cylindrical container out. She placed it to the table, in front of the King and Queen.
"These are blood replenishing pills, this will help His Highness from the paleness he have, he must eat more and go out more to gather energy for his core. The Core helps the body on being healthy, it must be so painful not having his core that much energy for a long time." Rose stated as she zipped her bag close before standing up.
"If he doesn't wake up in the next three days, call me. If he does wake up tomorrow, feed him and let him take the pills, at least twice a day, after breakfast and before going to bed." She stated as she brushed her clothes straight and grabbed her bag.
"I probably should go now," she bowed, "thank you for trusting me, Your Majesties. It is an honor to be your son's doctor."
"Thank you, Doctor Izamae." King Noli said.
She stood up straight and went for the door, she opened it and walked out.
Helping the Prince in this is certainly tiring, she only had her first step on the stairs and yet it is already hard. There are still more steps for her to take, she must not take a rest yet, she must succeed on this mission.
Rose sighed in relief as she made it to the Palace's front doors. Her stallion, Gin, and a servant waiting for her, she hurriedly went down the long stairs and mounted on her stallion. Thanking the servant, she went off the enormous palace, riding back to her brother's manor.
