13 12. Forbidden forest.

2nd Person POV

It's nighttime about you all are running down to Hagrids' hut. You all knocked the door and Hagrid appeared wearing apron and oven mitts.

"Oh, 'ello. Sorry, don't wish ter be rude, but I'm in no fit state ter 'ntertain terday", Hagrid said closing the door then you all screamed.

"We know about the Philosopher's Stone!". Hagrid then opened the door again and let you all inside.

"We think Snape's trying to steal it", Harry said while sitting down at a chair.

"Snape? Blimey, 'arry, yer not still on abou' him, are ya?", Hagrid said.

"I don't think it's Snape.... I still think it's Quirrell.....", You said under your breath barely audible.

"Hagrid, we know he's after the Stone. We just don't know why"

"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone! He's not abou' ter steal it!" If Snape's protecting the stone than.... It's Quirrell for sure.....you thought.

"What?"

"Ya heard. Righ' . Come on, now, I'm a bit preoccupied terday".

"Wait a minute. One of the teachers?"

"Of course! There are other things defending the Stone, aren't there? Spells, enchantments", Hermione said who's sitting on a large chair after a long silence.

"He likes you Ron", you told Ron who's being sniffed by fang.

"Ain' no one gonna get pas' Fluffy. Hehe, not a soul knows how. Excep' for me and Dumbledore. I shouldn't 'ave told ya tha' " than something began to rattle in the cauldron. Hagrid hurries over and grabs something and place it on the table.

"Uh, Hagrid, what exactly is that?", Harry asked.

"I know what that is! But Hagrid, how did you get one?", Ron said.

"I won it. Off a stranger I met down at a pub. Seemed quite glad ter be rid off it, as a matte' of fac' ", why would a strange carry an egg around... It kinda suspicious... You thought and the egg starts to crack and revealed a dragon.

"Is that....a dragon?", Hermione asked.

"That's not just a dragon. That's a Norwegian Ridgeback! My brother Charlie works with these in Romania".

Isn't he beautiful? Oh. Bless him, look. He knows his mummy. Hehe. Hallo, Norbert", the dragon looks at him.

"Norbert?", You and Harry said together.

"Yeah, well, he's got ter have a name, doesn't he? Don' ya, Norbert?", Then the dragon starts to have a hiccup and blasts Hagrids' beard on fire, "Who's that?". We all looked behind

"Malfoy", you and Harry said together.

"Oh, dear", Hagrid said.

You all are walking to Gryffindor tower.

"Hagrid always wanted a dragon. He told me so the first time I met him", Harry said.

"It's crazy. And worse, Malfoy knows. I am glad that Y/n grew up with us. If she grew up with him, she'd be exactly like him", Ron said.

"Hey!... I won't be exactly like him!!", You said.

"I don't understand. Is that bad?"

"It's bad", then Mcgonagall and Draco appeared.

"Good evening", she said. Then you all followed her to her classroom.

"Nothing, I repeat, nothing gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken", McGonagall said sternly.

"50?!", You and Harry said together.

"Each", McGonagall said more Sternly, "And to ensure it doesn't happen again, all four of you will receive detention". You all grinned.

"Excuse me, Professor. Perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said..."the four of us.", Draco asked confused.

"That's right, Draco. Four of us.. you heard it right.. so we'll be serving detention, together", you sassed. You saw Draco glare at your friends but not you. He wouldn't dare making anymore bad relationships with you.

Your POV

It's dark and we are serving our detention. We're following Mr. Flich who's leading us to Hagrids' hut.

"A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming", Flich said, "You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He's got a little job to do inside the dark forest". We reached Hagrids' hut where Hagrid is there with a crossbow.

"Oh, good God, man, you're not still on about that bloody dragon, are you?"

"Oh shut up, Flich!.. would you be happy if you see Mrs. Norris been taken away? Huh?!", I said looking up at him. He just glared at me.

"Norbert's gone. Dumbledore sent him off ter Romania ter live in a colony", Hagrid said sniffing.

"Well, that's good, isn't it? He'll be with his own kind", Hermione said from beside me.

"Yeah, but what if he don' like Romania? What if the other dragons are mean ter him? Hes only a baby, after all".

"Oh, for Gods sake, pull yourself together, man. You're going into the forest, after all. Got to have your wits about you",

"The forest? I thought that was a joke! We can't go in there. Students aren't allowed. And there are...werewolves!", Draco said, terrified.

"Scared Draco?", I said smirking at him.

"Shut up, Y/n. I am not scared", he said looking at me trying to be brave but I can see him terrified a bit. I just smiled at him.

"Nighty night", Flich said and left.

"Righ'. Les go", Hagrid said and we followed him into the forest. We walked a long way then Hagrid stopped in his track and bend down and dips his fingers in a silver puddle.

"Hagrid, what's that?", Harry asked. I know about lots of creatures. I actually fancy learning about them so I knew what's that silver liquid is.

"Is that what I think it is, Hagrid?", I asked Hagrid.

"Yes Y/n. It's unicorn's blood. Foun' one death a few weeks ago. Now, this ones been injure' bad by something".

"But isn't that a big crime?"

"Yes Y/n. So, it's our job ter find the poor beas'. Ron, Hermione, yer coming 'ith me and Y/n, you with Malfoy and 'arry".

"Okay. Then I get Fang!", Draco said.

"Fine. Jus' so you know, hes a bloody coward", Hagrid said and we part our ways. We walked through the forest with Fang leading the way.

"You wait till my father hears about this. This is servant's stuff", Draco complained.

"If I didn't know better, Draco, I'd say you were scared", Harry said.

"Scared, Potter?!", Then from a distance we head a howl, "Did you hear that? Come on, Fang. Y/n stay close. Scared!"

"Are we announcing the whole forest that The Draco Malfoy and The Harry Potter is here", I said quiet annoyed with their fighting. Then Fang stop.

"What is it, Fang?"

We Looked ahead and saw a dead unicorn and someone or something was feeding on it. Then Harry grabs his scar.

"What is it, Harry?", I asked while Draco grabbed my wrist to run. So I grabbed Harry's wrist, "Harry! Let's go! Harry come on!".

The cloaked figure saw us and started to come towards. Draco ran away screaming "Help!" With Fang and I am trying get Harry to run. The cloaked figure came closer and closer. Harry and I tripped over a root of a tree and falls causing my glowing necklace to fall out of my shirt. Harry quickly wrapped his hands around me and I quickly closed my eyes under his chest.

Then I heard a sound of hooves.. so I opened my eyes.

"Harry Potter, you must leave. You are known to many creatures here. The forest is not safe at this time. Especially for you and you too Y/n", I looked up to see a centaur. I wonder why he didn't say my last name...

"But what was that thing you saved us from?", Harry asked pulling me up.

"A monstrous creature. It is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn. Drinking the blood of a unicorn will keep you alive even if you are an inch from death. But at a terrible price. You have slain something so pure that the moment the blood touches your lips, you will have a half-life. A cursed life".

"But who would choose such a life?", I asked the centaur

"Can you think of no one?"...was that voldemort?....

"Do you mean to say...that that thing that killed the unicorn...that was drinking its blood...that was Voldemort?", Harry said.

"Do you know what is hidden in the school at this very moment?"

"The Philosopher's Stone", Harry and I said together. Then we heard Hermione, ron and Hagrid come.

" 'ello there, Firenze. I see you've me' our young Mr. Potter and young Mrs. Mal..", I quickly cut Hagrid off.

"L/n"

"Yer all righ' there, 'arry and Y/n?", We nodded.

"Harry Potter and Y/n. This is where I leave you two. You're safe now. Good luck", Firenze said and left. Why isn't he mentioning my last name???....

We're back in common room, sitting on the couch by the fire.

"You mean You-Know-Who's out there, right now, in the forest?", Hermione asked after we told them what happened.

"But he's weak. He's living off the unicorns", I said.

"Don't you see? We had it wrong! Snape doesn't want the Stone for himself; he wants the Stone for Voldemort. With the Elixir of Life, Voldemort will be strong again. He'll... he'll come back", Harry said.

"But Hagrid said Snape's protecting the stone...", I said in a low voice.

"But, if he comes back, you don't think he'll try to..... kill you, do you?", Ron said, terrified.

"I think if he'd had the chance, he might've tried to kill me tonight"

"And to think I've been worrying about my Potions final", Ron said.

Hermione said, looking at us, "We're forgetting one thing. Who's the one wizard Voldemort always feared?"

"Dumbledore...", I replied.

"Yes....As long as Dumbledore's around, Harry, you're safe. As long as Dumbledore's around, you can't be touched", she said reassuring Harry. Then I remembered, Harry protecting me when voldemort came towards us.

"Thanks for protecting back then, Harry", I said smiling at Harry who smiled back at me.

"No problem.... Your necklace was glowing back then... Did you notice?"

"Yeah.."

"It looked beautiful"

"Oh...."

"Get a room you two!", Ron said from beside Harry, made both of us blush and Hermione who probably looking at us like she ships us, laughed.

"Shut up Ron!", I yelled at him, which made all of us laugh. Maybe I do like him....
