7 The Men of the Zhang Family

Back to Min/her POV

Min reached her father's office and straight away went to the exclusive elevator in the underground parking lot especially reserved for the Chairman, CEO, and the esteemed guests (family, friends, etc) of the two.

She placed her palm on the palm scanner to get access to get into the elevator and go straight to her grandfather's and father's office at the top floor of the tall 80 floor building.

When Min arrived, the receptionist at the front desk, which was situated in front of the elevator, stood up and bowed while saying in a respectful tone, "Young Miss, welcome back. CEO Zhang is waiting in his office. Chairman Zhang is also here today"

Before sitting back down again

Min was stunned that her beloved grandpa, who loves to dote on her but does not come to the company often, was here today

She is happy though so she continued her way to the office and did not think further as to why her grandfather, the Chairman, although mostly in name as most of decisions are made without needing his consent unless it is needed, came today as he likes to stay in the first mansion he ever owned as his late wife loved that mansion so much. She also did not wonder how it was such a coincidence that one of the few rare days of the year Grandfather Zhang visits, it is on the day she is here to deliver some papers to Father Zhang. Although that is merely an excuse Zhang Kai used so his daughter can come spend more time with him and slowly adjust to not being in JL Conglomerate all the time, but in Zhang Conglomerate instead.

Min arrived at her father's office and knocked on the door before opening the door after scanning her fingerprint onto the fingerprint scanner so as to not have to wait for her father to give her permission to come in.

She walked in to see her father and grandfather sitting on the sofa chatting while sipping on chamomile tea

Before either could get to even place down their teacups, Min ran and said, "YEYE!*" and pounced on him for a hug

Grandfather Zhang, also known as Zhang Qiang, laughed heartily after being stunned for a second and hugged back his precious granddaughter. He always found her more adorable and cute than his stinky grandson who was not cute at all! That grandson of his was a cold ice block to everyone but his younger sister. His precious granddaughter on the other hand was very cute! These were the thoughts of Zhang Qiang about his two grandchildren.

"Ahem ahem" Zhang Kai faked coughing to remind his princess that he was also in the room and not just her grandfather.

Min turned her head and seeing her father's sulking face, she hopped out of her Yeye's embrace and went over to hug her father and said to him, "hehe don't sulk Ba, I am excited to see you too, it was just a nice surprise to see Yeye"

"Hmph, once you see my old man here, you forget about you daddy" Father Zhang said, jealous that his father received such a reaction from his precious daughter

"Stinky brat, that is because she loves me more" Zhang Qiang replied back after hearing his son's words

" *mumbles* that old man always receives such reactions from Princess while I don't, so unfair" Zhang Kai mumbled only to receive a smack from Zhang Qiang who although getting older and in his late 70s, still had good hearing and had sharp eagle eyes from his earlier military days before going into the business world.

"Stinky brat! Not only did you take my precious Jian's time when you were a baby, but now you complain that my precious granddaughter gives more reactions to me! Of course she will, we do not get to see each other as often" Zhang Qiang said then snorted before settling down again on the sofa while patting the spot next to him as a gesture for Min to sit next to him which she happily obliged too.

Although Min never was good at emotions, she still can tell her grandfather looked very happy today along with her father, although sulking, seems to be happy about something

"Why are you guys happy?" Min asked to break the ice between father and son (Zhang Qiang and Kai)

"Oh yes, we are here because not only has your grandfather returned, that brat Zhang Cheng has requested a break for 2 weeks for his birthday and mid-autumn festival. Although we are more happy you are here today than his arrival here" Zhang Kai said, not guilty at all for what he said about his own son

(Author Li: ah I feel pity for poor Zhang Cheng, he specifically took 2 weeks off the military, although if there was a big emergency he'd have to return, just to have his grandfather and father not happy because of his aloof attitude. Oh well, not that he cared about his 'Old Man' and 'Lao Yeye' compared to his precious mei mei** aka Min

Editor Yi Wei: how many times have I told you to stop breaking the fourth wall?! If you want to make these notes do it after!

Author Li: but you are me, as a matter of fact, you and Reader Li Yi Wei are both me!

Reader Li Yi Wei: ok, now shut up, and continue the story

Author Li: *Mumbles* Why are these guys so mean? I just wanted to share my sympathy for Zhang Cheng huhu. Also what fourth wall? We are not in a play or acting this is a story!

Editor Yi Wei: fine then stop cutting into the story so much!

Author Li: fine *grumbles*)

Min coughed hearing her father and grandfather thoughts about her iceberg of a brother that only seemed to have human emotions around her. She never did get exactly why her brother wasn't even as warm as he was to her to their mother

Min, "well anyways, Ba here are the documents for the project. I can stay for another hour before going back to the office"

Grandfather Zhang immediately said, "Xiao Min, let us go to the lounge room and watch a short movie to relax! I heard there is a new movie your cousin, Zhang Boqin, started in as the main lead"

Zhang Qiang and his late wife, He Jian, had two sons who were twins. One is Zhang Kai and the other in Zhang Yong. Zhang Kai took over for two reasons, the first being that he was the first one born before his twin and second, Zhang Yong was very passionate about the entertainment world and did not want to inherit the company. Because of this, he was given adequate shares and dividends while Zhang Kai was also given the CEO position while Zhang Yong married an actress named Li Hua and they had one child named Zhang Boqin. All three of them are fond of the entertainment industry. Although Zhang Yong was both an actor and singer, his wife and son were both actors only.

Min nodded her head showing she did not mind watching and remembered her dear cousin who also was very fond of Min.

(A/N: if you have not noticed by now, Min is the apple to everyone in the family. As males are the more dominant gender in the family, the females are especially the apple to the men of the family and also the women as Min is a warm, bubbly, friendly girl and is only cold to those who are not close to her)

Zhang Kai once again coughed

Min laughed at her father's antics and said, "Ba, you can join us to you know, you don't need our permission to join"

Zhang Kai pouted a little and said in a sulky mood, "princess, I wanted you to ask me to come with you as well"

Min smiled and said, "Ba, you know I love you and I would never mind you hehe"

Zhang Kai gave a radiant smiled and said, "I love you to princess, now let's go to the lounge and have time finishing Boqin's new movie"

With that, all three of them walked over to the lounge and started the movie in which their relative Zhang Boqin starred as the Male Lead of an action movie based on an ancient martial arts family.

After the movie was over, Min had to say goodbye to her Grandpa and Dad*** before leaving the building reluctantly to go back to her office. She had to prepare for her new personal assistant interview after all.
