*ring ring ring* an alarm clock could be heard through the spacious bedroom in a penthouse.
An arm comes through the comforter and shuts the alarm clock off
"Ugh, what time is it?" Zhang Min mumbled to herself
She gets out of bed to check her phone, seeing it's 6 am she tiredly gets herself out of bed. Normally it wouldn't be too bad but last night she stayed up till 2:30 am in the morning to prepare for the interviews for the position of her personal assistant as her old one quit because she couldn't handle the pressure from Zhang Min the head director of Marketing in JL Conglomerate, also known as the Beautiful Ice Director as she not only is beautiful and young, she was able to reach from an intern to a director within a year and is known to be aloof and a perfectionist and is very professional.
Although she is very professional, if you say this to her friends, they would laugh as outside, she is very carefree, outgoing, friendly, and overall the opposite of what she is at work. Although that could also mean she separates her private life from her career and is very professional.
After Min finishes getting ready, she changes into a pantsuit which consists of a dark navy blue pants, a white blouse, and a dark navy blue blazer with white heels and a single diamond on a gold chain necklace as her accessory.
She went downstairs to eat some toast and tea. She then put on her shoes and went to the elevators which brought her to the basement and got into her Mercedes white car and drove to JL Conglomerate.
- 25 minutes later, JL Conglomerate parking lot -
Min got out of the car, and went to the elevator to go up to the 59th floor where the head directors stay and have meetings.
"Good Morning Liang" Min said when she saw Lu Liang going to his cabin (office)
"Good Morning Min" Liang said. He is 32 and a very warm person, the opposite of Min when working.
Min then went to her cabin which is next to Liang who is the head director of Finance of the main headquarters of JL Conglomerate.
"Sheng, please come and tell me my schedule for today" Min said to her assistant Sheng through the intercom
(A/N: the assistant desk for all heads are right outside the cabins in the middle area because all the cabins are on the wall area so the middle is empty which is where all the assistants are)
"Ok Ms.Zhang" Sheng said while picking up his tablet and going to Min's office
*knock knock* Sheng knocked on the door waiting for permission to come in
"Come in" Min said while looking at some documents
"Tell me today's schedule" Min said in her cold voice
"Today at 10 am you will be meeting a client, at 1 pm there will be a meeting with the CEO and other head directors for a multi-billion project" Sheng reported
"Hmm, it seems like Tang Chen made another multi billion project and is trying to get someone to invest…" Min said lost in thought not realizing that she didn't say CEO Tang but his name instead which she isn't supposed to but truth is, she isn't afraid of him, why though? That will be known later
"Um, ma'am, did you call CEO Tang with his full name?" Sheng said, a little scared worrying that she would call him that in the meeting, as Chen does not like any form of disrespect, and saying his name without being close to him is a sign of disrespect in his eyes, though he doesn't say that to people often, they are scared of him, thus always calling him CEO Tang as although he is very handsome, he is also very cold and had a very bad temper.
"I did? Oops just pretend you didn't hear me say that, ok?" Min said nonchalantly
"U-uh ok ma'am" Sheng stuttered, confused as to why she wasn't scared since he (Chen) was a very scary man and had a lot of power and wealth.
This made him suspicious of his director but because he wasn't super close to her, he didn't probe
"You may go, just remember to come and remind me when the client comes and when the meeting starts. Anything else on my agenda?" Min asked
"No Ms.Zhang" Sheng said
Min just hummed in reply and after Sheng bowed his head and left closing the door.
"That was close" Min said, sighing.
After she texted someone, she started once again reading documents and signing ones for approval.
- at 9:55 am -
*knock knock*
"Come in" Min said and Sheng came in saying "Ms.Zhang, the client has arrived"
Min once again just hummed in reply and said
"Ok let them come in then" Min said in her usual aloof face
Sheng turned around and said to the person behind him "sir, you may come in"
The client hummed and walked in
Min was still looking at her document while saying to Sheng "You may leave"
Sheng bowed and left leaving the two in her office
"Long time no see MinMin" the client said smirking
Min was so surprised at the nickname that she dropped the papers and looked at the person
"...James Xu?" Min said surprised but quickly went back to her normal face
"Mhm surprised? And what's with the cold welcome? I'm hurt" James acted very hurt dramatically
" *sigh* why are you here Brother James?" Min said knowing that her big brother's friend/brother from another mother will not stop being dramatic
Although she notices he still looked attractive being a mix of Chinese, Japanese, and British with his blue eyes and brown hair at 180 cm
"Well guess what? I needed someone to help with our marketing for our project and I decided to use JL Conglomerate because I knew you were the CMO* here" James said
"Whatever, let's just start discussing" Min said
- 30 minutes later -
"Ok, you got the deal" Min said, standing up to shake James's hand but instead of shaking her head, James got up and hugged Min
"Where is the cute bubbly little kid I know" James said pouting cutely
"Whatever, I still am, I just have to put a cold mask on so no one comes near me" Min said rolling her eyes
"Hahaha that is the MinMin I know" James laughed then left waving
"Bye Brother James" Min said then sitting back down on her desk
Min was wondering if James visited her, which means her family might come visiting as a client and then started getting a headache thinking so she started working again.

James is her big brother's friend who treats Min as his own little sister (or does he 🤔)
