1 Chapter one

Snow fell down and softly landed in the females hair as she walked down the quite streets of Vincent. A small city with a even smaller population of people, one hand was pressed firmly over her stomach while her other hand was clutching a small black satchel she was using for things such as food, a book and a few pictures and clothing. Why? At the age of 17 being pregnant was a bad thing, especially to her parents who were strictly believing in the whole marriage thing. Of course she believed in it to... this wasn't her fault, none of it was. It was something she was to embarrassed to speak about, she had been stupid walking home at night and her boyfriend had been drunk stupidly like always. Things happened and after two weeks of waking up sick and certain symptoms she was forced to go to the hospital where she had found out the truth. That she was pregnant and her mom had been livid, her father hardly able to even look at her and they had told her to leave and...and she did. So Hope had decided on one thing, abortion. No her parents wouldn't be happy about it, she decided to do it in a few days. She would get to the hospital early in the morning and go through the process, her child would do better in heaven then rather with her.

Blinking away angry tears she exhaled and turned down a street, the snow was freezing and made her skin numb but it was fine really, she would be fine and she was trying to assure herself this. After turning she saw the apartment where she was roommates with her friend, Alisha was her name and she was a sweet girl who had been friends with Hope for a very long time now. Especially after what happened, stepping up the slippery and iced over steps she shuffled through her bag before pulling out keys and using one of them to unlock the door, she walked in to smell something sweet and nice. Shutting the door behind her she hung her bag on a hook near the door and pulled her jacket off while walking to the kitchen.

"Alisha?" She said.

Alisha looked up from what she was cooking and grinned at Hope while pulling something from the oven and sat it down.

"Hey, how was your day?"

Hope walked over and sniffed the pie she had pulled out, Alisha shooed her away and she chuckled.

"Smells good, what's the occasion?" Hope asked.

Alisha raised a eyebrow and placed a hand on her hips, her dark face was practically glowing with happiness though.

"What makes you think-"

"Your cooking, it smells absolutely delicious, your dressed up and I bet that you have a date with some guy by the way your face is glowing." Hope said bluntly.

"Wow girl, you really are observant aren't ya?"

Hope shrugged and pulled out some orange juice and poured it into a glass cup before drinking it.

"I mean yeah, with what happened I've become more aware of things." Hope admitted.

Alisha hesitated before pulling off the mittens she had pulled on and walked over to Hope, sitting beside her and placed a hand on her friends shoulder.

"You know you don't have to do it, you can have it and give it up." Alisha began.

Hope stood up, making a motion with her hand and looking frustrated.

"Don't give me that crap Alisha, you of all people should know how I feel, so don't, I'm doing this and you or anyone else, isn't going to change my mind." She snapped.

Alisha sighed and stepped back, raising her hands in protest.

"Ack fine! Just going to say this, it can really mess you up Hope."

Hope stood up and shrugged, putting the orange juice up and heading upstairs to her room when she heard the bell ring and knew it was that dude she had over for dinner, plopping down on her bed she leaned back and closed her eyes. One of the main reasons she was doing this was because she knew she would never be a good mother, the reason for that was because she couldn't deal with kids, let alone a little her running around the house getting into trouble. She rolled onto her side and buried her head into her pillow, squeezing her eye shut and her lips wobbled as she tried to not cry. Please tell me I'm doing the right thing. She thought to herself before drifting off to sleep.

Hope didn't wake up until a hour later when there was a knock on her door and it cracked open, expecting it to be Alisha she kept her head in the pillow but the door didn't shut again and the light is what made her painfully aware that it wasn't her friend. She sat up, brushing strands of white hair from her face, her eyes squinted and she finally made out a figure standing in her doorway. Her heart dropped and she almost threw up, whoever it was wasn't leaving and she could feel the blood and warmth in her face leave so she probably looked like a ghost by then.

"Jackson?" A familiar voice called out.

The figure standing at her door jolted back as if being caught, she caught a glimpse of his face and realized he was tall, very tall, and strong looking with silky black hair and tan skin, he glanced at her once more, his eyes crystal blue and then he was gone. She pulled her covers against her and exhaled, hugging them against her chest and realizing she wasn't going to be sleeping anymore for the night, she kept the light on and played one of her favorite songs.

The morning sun warmed Hope as she shifted and after several minutes of doing so she eventually got up and got dressed for her job which was located close, not close enough sadly. Hope yawned and as she got up she slammed her foot into one of the metal things on the bed, she inhaled sharply and tried to not let out any nasty words, hobbling into the bathroom she cleaned up and slipped into a pair of white pants and a sweater. Leaving her hair hanging over her shoulder she slipped on boots and grabbed her wallet and headed to the kitchen where Alisha was sitting, drinking something from a mug while reading a book. She only glanced up when Hope sat down as well.

"The next time you invite someone over make sure they aren't some creep." Hope grumbled while drinking her own coffee and burning her tongue in the process.

Alisha paused and looked at her, shaking her head and looking back down to continue to read.

"I'm sorry, Jackson is odd as it is, he...well I didn't really think he'd do that."

"Where did you find him? The mall?" Hope snorted.

Alisha huffed and stood up. "No, you should go before your late and stop making fun of my poor life Choices." She said.

Hope grinned before standing up and walking out, her wallet hanging from her wrist like normal. On her wallet was a small container of mace, her keys and s fuzzy thing her friend had given her for her birthday last year. Waving by she walked out and into the cold and frigid morning air, it wasn't to pleasant really but it was okay. She walked down the slippery sidewalk and turned, it was a nice morning and frost coated the sidewalk as well as the grass, making it a pretty white. The snow from the day before hadn't stuck yet but no doubt it would now. To be honest she liked the winter, it was a year of joy and peace, something she enjoyed a lot and liked. She liked the way the snow settled over everything, the way kids ran around and built snowman and the way life just seemed to flourish even through the bitter cold weather. Hope smiled to herself and a sudden wave of sadness washed over her, she was going to kill her own child and she was fine with it? Maybe Alisha was right, she could give it up and give it another life.

As she walked she felt another presence, something unwelcomed. Turning she paused, the same boy as the night before was walking towards her slowly, it wasn't like she could run. He was taller then her and much more faster. She turned away and prayed he'd just walk away. But he didn't.

"Hope, right?" He called out with a brisk accent.

Hesitating she looked at him with narrowed eyes.

"What do you want? Come to stare more?" She asked in a less friendly tone.

Jackson frowned and ran a hand through his hair, a apologetic look crossed his expression.

"Sorry about that, I thought I was heading into the bathroom. When I saw you I was trying to figure out who you were." He explained.

I guess that makes more sense...I'm such a idiot. She thought to herself, not apologizing because that wasn't her way of doing things and she felt like she'd just embarrass herself even further, she slipped her hands into her pocket and glanced at him. Now that she thought about it he didn't look that scary.

"Oh."

"I'm Jackson by the way...which you probably already know." He stated.

Hope had begun to walk and he was following her, she stopped walking and turned to face him. They were in the alleyway, people passing by and so she wasn't worried about him yet she wa annoyed.

"What's your point? I'm sorry if I'm being rude but I have places to be." She said sternly, her hand subconsciously pressed over her stomach and his eyes followed and it was as if he was suddenly intrigued by her being pregnant. He stepped closer and she backed up.

"Your pregnant, Alisha told me so...tell me, are you exited to have the baby? Or are you more exited for it to die and no longer be your problem?" He asked in a hushed voice.

Hopes face went pale and she felt everything in her tense up, her hands clenched over her mace and she felt her heart pound in her chest. She glared at him.

"Leave me alone, you have no idea-"

He cut her off by placing a hand over her mouth and she jerked back. Surely people would see her discomfort and try to help....right?

"Shh, arguing isn't good for the baby now is it? I've always wanted a family." He said softly, his hand slipped into his pocket and she couldn't move out of fear. He leaned forward and his lips brushed against her ear.

"If you won't appreciate it then I will. I've always wanted the perfect family."

And it made her freeze but in that moment she knew exactly what to do, pulling the mace up she pressed the nozzle, turned and ran, the only thing she heard was hi agonized scream from where she had sprayed him and to be honest it made her thrilled she had hit him there. Hope ran as fast as she could though her legs began to tire soon and she felt her lungs burning. It was definitely uncomfortable and she hated it, she wasn't used to this and being pregnant....well this probably wasn't good for its health either.

As she slowed down to a walk she thought maybe he had lost her, and she was glad....until she heard footsteps behind her and her eyes widened. She walked up to the first person she saw and grabbed there arm.

"Please help me! There's a man following me." Hope pleaded.

The woman looked at Hope with confusion, looking up she saw Jackson and nodded her head,  before she could help in any way possible Jackson had wrapped his arms around her and she screamed. Kicking and clawing at him he only chuckled and found it humorous before looking the woman in the eyes.

"Don't mind her, she's been on drugs for the past few months and I'm her parole officer. Sorry for what happened."

He sounded so sincere and truthful it was almost hard to not believe him herself, but she knew the truth and tears welled up in her eyes when he ended up just picking her up and dragging her away. "People believe what they want to." He said with a hum. No,no, no. This had to be one big nightmare! He was doing it in broad daylight and everyone was out, watching this happen. Surely at least one person would call the police or help? But no. They believed him and it made her panic even further, she clenched her jaw together and let him, she was about to fight for her life because it was either be taken, or either be killed.

Jackson dug through his pocket for something and she heard a car beep as it unlocked and he attempted at putting her in but she made it hard for him. Kicking her legs up so he couldn't put her in and twisting around to much until she felt the cold touch of metal kiss against her neck.

"Get in." He growled out.

Yes she would had fought...but she didn't want to die. As tears rolled down her face she obeyed him and got in, he pulled something out of his pocket and grabbed her arm, when she caught what it was her heart dropped in her chest. It was a needle full of clear liquid and she jerked back but he had already inserted it into her arm, she felt it course through her and almost instantly she felt drowsy.

"I can't have any chances of you trying to leave now can I?"

The thud of the car door alerted her and she rolled onto her stomach, her body felt numb, so very numb, she managed to crawl over to the door and lifted a trembling hand but as she grasped the handle her consciousness slipped and she passed out from whatever drug he had inserted into her body.
