3 Chapter 2-The Sun,The Moon,and The Stars

Fumiko decided she was going to ask Aiyana to the dance tomorrow,so she could prepare in advance. If Aiyana accepted her mini "promposal" homecoming invitation, there were so many things she needed to get.

A ball gown,a new eyeshadow palette,a matching headband or silver hair clip,a cute necklace, and a cute pair of shoes were the first few items that came to mind.Fumiko already had half of these items in her bedroom, but she would need to go out and acquire the stuff she didn't have yet.

Not only did she need to know what she will hypothetically wear to the homecoming dance, she needed to plan a special promposal for Aiyana.Fumiko had to think of a special or symbolic promposal that would really touch Aiyana's heart.

It only made sense because Aiyana was a girl who loved things that were sentimental, symbolic,or romantic.Fumiko had to make her promposal contain one of those elements or all of them. That was the most logical and practical way to have a high success rate of Aiyana accepting her invitation to the homecoming dance.

As Fumiko brainstormed on what her promposal for Aiyana was going to be,she heard a knock on her bedroom door. She got up and answered the door to receive a message from her older brother,Christopher.

"Hey Fumiko,Charlotte's taking us to the mall to pick out what we're going to wear to Homecoming."Christopher said, peeking his head through the door. "We're leaving in 10 minutes,so get ready if you're going."Christopher added, closing the door after delivering Charlotte's message.

"Very well,I should get dressed then."Fumiko said, responding as if Christopher was still there. She got off her bed and went into her closet to choose a outfit.Fumiko took out a lavender tank top,a plum purple sweater with a gold necklace,a jet black leather skirt, and a pair of knee-length plum purple socks. She also got out a pair of grey ankle boots to complete her outfit of the day.

Fumiko removed her light blue nightgown and got dressed quickly, making sure not to waste any time. She went to her dresser mirror and got her hairbrush off the dresser to comb through her jet black,tailbone-length hair.

Then, she opened one of the small drawers in her dresser and pulled out an eyeshadow palette & a tube of Violet Mint Lip Gloss.Fumiko applied the lip gloss on her naturally dark pink lips, rubbing them together to make sure the lip gloss was evenly distributed on her lips.It would really bother her if she didn't and she would apply more out of habit.

She closed the tube of lip gloss and went to put it in her mini purse. After that,Fumiko went back to her dresser mirror and opened her eyeshadow palette.Taking out the eyeshadow applicator, she chose the light purple shadow and applied it to her eyelids accordingly.

When she was done getting ready, she put up her eyeshadow palette and grabbed her mini purse & threw it across her shoulder.Fumiko slipped on her grey ankle boots and headed out of her bedroom door, closing right behind her on her way out.

"What took you so long?"Naozumi asked, crossing his arms. "Yeah,we were waiting on you."Christopher injected, taking his phone out of his shorts' pocket to check the time. "I was just trying to look nice before leaving the house, there's nothing wrong with that."Fumiko replied, knowing she didn't take us long as her brothers were making it out to be.

"Are we the only ones going Homecoming shopping?"Fumiko asked, wondering why it was only the three of them when they had many other siblings."Well,we are the only kids in the house who are either in middle school or high school...the only school tiers that hold Homecoming dances."Naozumi explained, understanding his sister's confusion.

"Guys, let's go before the mall gets crowded!"Charlotte called from downstairs, shouting as loudly as she could to get their attention."We're coming!"Christopher shouted back, confirming that they all heard Charlotte. They all hurried downstairs and out of the mansion, practically racing each other to the car.

Once they were all in Charlotte's car,Fumiko could finally take a minute to think."Homecoming's theme this year is The Sun,The Moon, and The Stars....maybe I could do a symbolic promposal with her as the sun because she's bright, beautiful, and I start to feel hot whenever she's around."Fumiko thought to herself, smiling at the idea.

"No! That's too embarrassing,I couldn't possibly use that idea for a promposal!"She interjected silently,a light pink blush forming over her

pale, porcelain skin.Even though her brothers and sister didn't notice, she still couldn't help feeling a little embarrassed.Fumiko always had an infatuation with Aiyana, but she never felt like this before.

She couldn't complain since she felt really happy whenever she thought anything involving Aiyana.Well, she felt a little more than really happy...she suppose.

"But,maybe Aiyana will think the idea is cute...she thinks I and a lot of things I do are cute for some reason."Fumiko thought, feeling her cheeks get warmer as she blushed a deeper shade of pink.

She was ecstatic knowing that Aiyana did find her actions and her physical appearance attractive or aesthetically pleasing.Fumiko personally couldn't see why,but she was ecstatic nevertheless. After snapping out of her starry-eyed daydream,Fumiko looked out the window to see her older sister pulling into the mall parking lot.

Fumiko immediately started thinking about what kind of dress should she pick."Hmm,maybe a midnight blue or turquoise dress to go with the Homecoming Theme."

She thought, already imagining how the dress would look on her. "If I can represent the sky and the moon,I hope Aiyana will be my star."Fumiko said to herself, smiling with a lot of hope instilled in her mind.

Fumiko got out of the car and waited on her siblings to get out as well,so she could walk into the entrance of the mall. She was very excited to find her prefect dress because she already had her ideal homecoming outfit in her mind.

A Beautiful,Dark Turquoise Ball Gown with Black Frills on the sides of the gown for her Homecoming dress.A pair of Long,Black gloves to match her Homecoming gown.A pair of Black,Ballet Flats for cute but sensible shoes to walk and dance in.Lastly,an elegant silver hair clip with pearls and clear, fake jewels to finish off the look.

However, doing her makeup would be the most fun part of getting ready for the Homecoming dance for her.Makeup was one of Fumiko's only ways to express her individuality and she often used it as coping mechanism for wanting a sense of control in her life within her father's overly rigid boundaries.

It would also be a coping mechanism for one of her mental illnesses,Body Dysmorphic Disorder because she wanted to make herself look beautiful on the outside, even if she couldn't feel beautiful on the inside. She also gets a lot of compliments on her makeup since she's gotten good at it over the years, which would make her feel a little better about herself.

Fumiko always found flaws she didn't like about herself, but Aiyana wouldn't let her do that. She refused to let Fumiko say anything bad about herself because she knew that Fumiko meant every word she said about her flaws. That really hurt Aiyana since she knew Fumiko had low self-esteem and didn't see her own beauty or accomplishments like she should.

It also hurt because Fumiko was easily the most beautiful girl Aiyana has ever seen and Fumiko always thought she was inadequate no matter how good she looked or how hard she tried.

The trauma she endured from her father is what really skewed her self-esteem and made her fall into a downward spiral.Fumiko told Aiyana a lot about her trauma over the years when they got close enough to confide in each other about almost anything.

She felt horrible that she couldn't see herself the way Aiyana saw her because Fumiko greatly appreciated how much Aiyana tried to.Therapy has helped with learning coping mechanisms for her Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,Major Depressive disorder, and Anxiety Attacks....it just didn't help with her Body Dysmorphia or Low Self-Esteem.

"Fumiko!"Charlotte shouted, shaking her sister's shoulders.Fumiko was appalled and remorseful."Did I just space out? I felt like losing myself in my spiraling thoughts."She asked, hoping someone would answer her.

"Yeah, you also had this thousand yard stare in your eyes like you were experiencing a dissociation episode....I've seen that look in Amarion's eyes before."Christopher explained, crossing his arms while looking at the ground with sadness.

"Are you sure you're okay, sis?"Naozumi asked, speaking in a very concerned and gentle tone.Fumiko felt terrible for making her siblings worry about her like this. She didn't want them to worry about her like this and she didn't want to waste their time by making them go home due to an unpleasant memory resurfacing."Yes,I'm fine...I just got a bit distracted by other things is all."Fumiko responded, walking away to avoid any further questioning from her siblings.

She knew they only did it out of genuine concern for her wellbeing but now wasn't the time for her to disclose her problems.Fumiko had so much to think about already enough as it is.

Getting her homecoming dress,Her promposal for Aiyana,Homecoming itself, and so many other things. And that was only the tip of the iceberg for the first week of October. The only thing Fumiko could do regarding her mental health right now is tell herself that everything is going to be okay.

Even if things weren't okay, she would find a way to make things better for herself. That's all she could do for now until she found a long term solution to her problems.
