18 Findings 3

"What are you thinking about?" she asked.

"I don't know, but I feel like it's unfortunate," Trex spoke. Even though Jonathan's memories were disconnected from him, his personality was retained by him.

He didn't notice it, but ever since the smart mind got disconnected from him, he acted a bit more like Jonathan.

But Eliza had noticed it more and more. Which made her feel like her son is recovering.

Looking back at the foreclosed sign, a sparkle appeared in her eyes.

Just then.

"Hello, monsieur, madame, and mademoiselle, your orders are here."

Trex had a weird look as the server slowly placed the food on their table.

The architecture was very London-like, but the people are closer to New Yorkers. This restaurant was very Japanese-like, but the servers talk similar to French.

Only then did it hit Trex.

"How am I understanding their words??" he screamed in his head.

Now that he thought about it when he listens with his ears, the sounds people make when they say hello is 'jummiinoi,' but in his head, what he heard was hello.

He, himself, talks in English, but clearly, everyone understands him.

Then an idea entered his mind.

"Gamsahabnida," Trex thanked in Korean.

Besides him, Eliza and Illana, who's in front of him, immediately turned their heads towards him. Their mouths are agape.

Trex broke out in a cold sweat. "Did I said something wrong?" he thought.

Seeing the increasingly panicked look on her son, Eliza immediately explained, "dear, sorry for our surprise, but you actually initiated to talk to someone, much less thanked them," she chuckled afterward.

The waiter, who had an awkward look on his face for the exaggerated expression from the two, finished moving the plates.

"Uhm… If there's anything else, please feel free to call out to me, my name is Ahmad," he bowed and left.

Eliza and Illana chuckled even more while Trex looked down on his hands, his face beet red.

"Well, let's eat," Eliza said.

The group began to enjoy their meal.

——

Apparently, his dad was right. The steak in that restaurant was delightful. After the scrumptious meal, the three headed back home.

Under the searing light of the golden sun, Trex remained staring outside the window, taking in the view.

The freaky translated language still lingered in his mind. It was also as if even though he spoke in very fluent Korean, his mom, the maid, and the waiter still heard it perfectly fine as if it was how "thank you" was originally spoken.

"It's so inconsistent," he thought. As a former computer, inconsistencies would usually lead to a crash unless an exception handler was built. Even though he hasn't crashed yet, he still feels extremely weird and touchy about the detail.

Trex didn't dare experiment more of this, not because he feared getting caught but because he had to start the conversation. What if he says something terrible? He didn't know why, but he stressed on that possibility.

No matter if there's a chance later, he'll definitely try to learn why. Would every language from the human federation would work? Just from Earth alone, he knows over three hundred languages. With the ability to real-time translate everything in the universe, the different languages were already built-in deep within his source code. But not only is he not the smart mind right now, but the smart mind itself was also turned off. After getting scanned by the doctor, he was now sure his body is that of a human, 100%.

Then his thoughts floated towards the doctor. As a person, only the word innocent can describe Trex. If it wasn't for his knowledge database, Trex would've been crying on the floor like a baby the entire time. With only a day of experience in his pocket, he has a hard time following the mindset of the people around him.

His mom changed from somewhat weary to loving him unconditionally in less than three hours. Then there was that doctor, his smile looked kind, but everything he did was extreme. He even managed to disconnect the smart mind, which not even the strongest electromagnetic disruptors back in his old world managed to.

Now that his thoughts aren't being read, he feels so much freer. A detail he never noticed nor appreciated.

Having to remove the thoughts he hasn't even thought about. He never expected that he'd be able to do it. Honestly, it was very similar to ending a task using the task manager or activity monitor. If it weren't for his experience as a computer, he would've spilled the metal world or the existence of the smart mind on the first question.

And then, there was the ARI Headgear. When Michael mentioned its imaging capabilities, Trex thought it was something akin to magnetic resonance imaging or 'MRI.' Boy, was he wrong. The thing it images is his direct thoughts. Earlier, he could only fear the gadget. Now that he recalled it, he felt excited.

The fact that it can take out an image from the brain and directly convert his current thought into text wasn't that the foundation full-dive virtual reality was built upon? The existence of ARI headgear, wouldn't that mean there is virtual reality headgear that exists too?

Of course, that might also not be true, this was a magical world after all, and the word progress isn't as linear as it was in his scientific world.

But still, the thought of making an arcane version of the smart mind to enter the virtual world. Trex was deeply thrilled.

Speaking of games, he suddenly remembered about the arcade shop that closed. Just what kind of arcade was it? Was it similar to retro arcades with joystick and buttons, or does the word arcade mean something else in this world?

Nevertheless, he now had something he wants to do. An actual impulse of the living, something he never had before.

Jonathan… was this your influence on me? Or was this how you built me? Still, the fact that I managed to inherit your memories, skills, and talents… I'll gladly accept them. Trex finally accepted in his heart, no longer fearing the takeover that smart mind had mentioned.

Oh, that's right. There was also the smart mind.

Before he could continue his thoughts, "Who are those?" Illana asked grimly.

A distinctive house was built within the row of suburban homes with untypical blue bricks and white windows. In front is a pristine-looking green lawn with a driveway with a direct path to the garage.

Looking over to where Illana was looking, Trex saw three men wearing very formal suits in front of their home.
