2 A Sad Departure

The Earth is one of the many planets inside the Milky Way Galaxy. There are seven Continents on Earth, one of them being North America. Inside the North America, there is a Country which comprises multiple states that together form the United States. Washington is one of those many states in the United States. If you were to locate Washington, it is on the west coast of the United States, looking over the Pacific Ocean. Seattle is one of the many cities inside Washington, known for its economic and political foundation.

South of the tallest building in Seattle is a street called Vermilion Avenue, where your typical houses are located, nothing special. While driving down the street heading towards the center of the city, you would see a white two-story house on the corner numbered 204 with a cheap black four-door SUV sitting in the driveway. When they made that house, they made it so that it would have two rooms and a bathroom upstairs, while the downstairs only has one bedroom and bath along with the kitchen and living room. Inside one of those upstairs bedrooms, a young man laid on a bed sleeping peacefully.

As the clock of time turned, morning quickly came. As the sun rose over the mountains in the distance, rays of light shined down into the bedroom, illuminating the young mans face. Making the scene look very peaceful until…

"AHH!" The young man sat up with a scream, covered in sweat, panting as he looked around while he tried calming his pounding heart. After taking a couple of seconds to calm down, the young man crawled out of bed and opened the curtains covering the window, allowing more light into the room, making it easier to see the young man.

The young man has pale white skin, messy raven black hair that reaches his eyes, thin black eyebrows, bright turquoise eyes, thin red lips. Standing from a distance, the young man looks slightly over 5ft 9in tall with a slim body. Wearing a larger than needed white hoodie and black basketball shorts.

Running his hand through his messy black hair, the young man groaned to himself. "I hate those dreams…" If you haven't guessed it yet, this young man is Arthur Kalel, the protagonist.

"What time is it?" Arthur yawned and glanced at the alarm clock on his nightstand.

"5:00? I guess I'm up for the day…" Arthur groaned to himself with a weary smile and grabbed a few things. Going across the hall to the only other bedroom on the upper floor.

When Arthur opened the door and turned on the lights, it showed a vast array of different exercise equipment. This room is enough to make some pro-athletes jealous.

Not caring about the chill in the air, Arthur didn't want to get his hoodie all smelly, so he lifted it above his head to take it off. When he took his hoodie off, Arthur wasn't wearing a shirt underneath, exposing his six-pack abs and powerful muscles. Throwing his hoodie to the side, Arthur started his music and set an alarm before starting his morning workout.

An hour later, while he was doing some bench presses and listening to music, the alarm he set on his phone went off. "6:00 already?" Sitting up, Arthur wiped his sweat and took out his phone to shut the alarm off. After throwing his sweaty-towel in the dirty-hamper, Arthur went back to his room and grabbed a set of clean clothes for a shower.

Twenty minutes later, Arthur stepped out of the bathroom, wearing a simple black tee-shirt and dark blue jeans, using a towel to dry his slightly damp hair.

Ding! — The sound of a phone notification came from Arthur's front-right jean pocket.

'Hmm?' Arthur took out his phone and saw that he got a text message from the contact saved as "Wife". The message said: "I'm having breakfast with my parents, see you in about 45 minutes."

"Yeah, might as well. After today, it's going to be hard for us to eat together for a while." Arthur put his phone away with a sigh and made his way downstairs towards the kitchen.

Just as Arthur was going to walk into the kitchen, he stopped at the door and peeked in, seemingly afraid of being seen.

Sitting at the table reading a newspaper is a middle-aged man with a military-style buzz-cut wearing a white shirt and black jeans. Although he is older in his years, you can tell that he still works out often.

Further inside the kitchen is a middle-aged woman holding the fridge open, searching for something in the back. She has long blond hair in a ponytail, holding up purple glasses on the bridge of her nose, baby blue eyes, wearing a blue shirt with white jeans. Giving off the perfect image of a friendly Aunt down the road.

'Thankfully they didn't come again.' Seeing that they were the only people in the room, Arthur sighed in relief to himself.

The middle-aged man seemed to notice something out of the corner of his eye and glanced up to spot Arthur peeking through the cracked door.

Although the middle-aged mans face didn't seem to change seeing him, Arthur caught a slight eye twitch. Realizing that the middle-aged man caught him, Arthur forced a smile on his face and sat down opposite of the middle-aged man.

"Ah! Arthur, your finally up, I was just getting worried about you. Did you sleep well last night? Probably not, huh?" The middle-aged woman seemed to find what she needed in the fridge and glanced back to find Arthur sitting at the table.

Thinking about his nightmare this morning, Arthur felt like hitting a wall, but continue to force a smile. "I slept fine."

"That's good, me and your uncle were getting worried. Today is special after all." The middle-aged woman sighed in relief and patted her chest as a mixture of sadness and pride flashed in her eyes.

"Yeah… Time flies…" Arthur looked between his Aunt and Uncle with reluctance in his eyes, causing silence to envelop the kitchen.

"Okay! That's enough of that!" Feeling somber mood envelope the room, Aunt Gee tried to dispel it. "Since today is today, Ill make you a special breakfast, what do you want?"

"Anything made with eggs." Arthur didn't even think and blurted out, apparently holding a grudge.

"Alright… How about I make you my special omelette that you loved as a kid." Aunt Gee glanced at Arthur in bewilderment and chose for him.

"You just missed the people from West River University." While his Aunt got busy in the kitchen, Arthurs Uncle spoke in a casual tone without raising his head from the newspaper.

"Oh? What did they have to say?" Although the Arthur asked with a casual tone, you can see relief on his face.

"Nothing more than trying to get you to attend their Collage." Uncle Smith finally raised his head from his newspaper and asked. "When is your flight?"

"Unless it gets delayed, it should take off at 9:00 AM." Arthur responded while unconsciously using his thumb to twist the ring on his finger, making the purple stone to change under the light into a spectrum of colors.

Aunt Gee was listening to their conversations and hearing the time Arthur was leaving, she couldn't help but stop what she was doing with a shocked look on her face and blurt out. "So early?!"

"Yeah…" Although Arthur wanted to spend more time with his family, the school required him to arrive ahead of time to get his living situation setup.

"Oh…" With a sad look on her face, Aunt Gee went back to cooking, creating what would be Arthurs last meal at home for a while.

Arthur leaving seemed to affect his Aunt and Uncle pretty badly. As they ate breakfast together, they recounted all the memories together. Although they knew that today was coming in the back of their minds, they didn't want to mention it until now.

After an hour of just spending time together as a family, the time finally came. Arthur along with his Uncle brought his luggage down from his room and brought it outside where he had a taxi waiting. After putting his three suitcases and duffle bag in the trunk, Arthur turned around to find his Aunt crying and hugging his Uncle.

Although Arthur decided earlier and kept telling himself not to, his eyes still overflowed with tears as he walked towards his Aunt and Uncle to say goodbye.

Before Arthur could say anything, his Aunt already hugged him, causing them to cry into each other's arms. Even Arthur's Uncle couldn't stop himself from crying, no matter how much he tried.

After a couple of minute of crying, Aunt Gee stepped back and helped Arthur comb his hair with her hand and wipe his tears as she whispered. "If your Mother and Father could see you now, they would be so proud."

Arthur nodded with a tear stained smile and confided. "Although I may have not said it much, I've always thought of you and Uncle Smith as my second Mother and Father…"

"My dear child…" Hearing this caused Aunt Gee to hug Arthur again with a radiant smile and tears gushing. Ever since Arthur lived with her, she has always treated him as her own. Uncle Smith nodded with a pleased smile.

"Okay… I need to go…" Arthur left his Aunt Gee's arms and hugged his Uncle Smith.

"Remember to practice everything I taught you! If you come home and can't even take a couple of moves from me, Ill make you go through the hell training again." Uncle Smith patted Arthur on the shoulder with a grin and reminded.

The words 'Hell Training' created a shudder in Arthur's soul, as he remembered the hellish training he endured from his Uncle Smith.

Realizing that it was getting late, Arthur hugged them both one last time and told them he will call them regularly, before getting in the back of the taxi.
