15 [Arc 2]Chapter 2

Phaes Urian's POV

As I was heading towards the Guild, I refocused the information I had gathered about the floor monsters.

Today, I'm planning on heading to [Floor 5]. The monsters up to floor 5 are: Kobolds, Goblins, Jack Birds, Dungeon Lizards and Frog Shooters.

I've already killed monsters before, like those times when I sneak out of the city and attack monsters that are just mindlessly roaming. Though, apparently monsters in the dungeon are at least two or three times stronger.

Oh well, at least it wasn't useless. I've gained valuable first-hand information, even though they are weaker. There's also that time I supported the Artemis Familia with killing that Antares, when I wandered too far away.

I nearly died, however I gained a powerful ability. It's called 'The Messenger's Wish: Mezerin', if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure I awakened that ability in my near death situation, although at the time I didn't know why a random floating blue sword came out of nowhere.

I chuckled slightly as I saw the Guild. I've noticed this recently, but I'm somewhat famous. It's nice to know that there's a lot of things that happen in this city, so my fame can easily be ignored by bystanders.

As I entered the Guild, I saw that I wasn't the only one wearing a cloak which means that I won't look suspicious. There was a queue behind a brown haired and green eyed elf, hence I decided to go behind the line that people avoided.

"Waa~!", the pink haired lady said as she dropped a bunch of papers.

Seeing that this would waste time, I decided to pick it up for her and placed it on the table.

"T-thank you.", she said however when she looked at me, her eyes opened wide.

"A-Alex..?", she muttered.

Seeing her call me that, I tilted an eyebrow and just began to talk.

"Hello, I would like to register as an adventurer.", I spoke.

However, she didn't respond for a few seconds but then when she realised what I said she just blushed and then responded.

"Y-yes!", she responded quite loudly which made people look at her.

She took out a form and it just needed a few details, to which I obviously filled.

It had questions such as: name, sex, age and so on. There were also some stupid questions like: "what's your favourite food?" or "what are your hobbies?", or even "who did you have a crush on when you were a child?".

'What kind of kindergarten questionnaire is this?', I silently thought to myself.

I left the stupid questions blank as I literally had no idea how to answer them. I have severe amnesia, I can't even fully remember my previous life. Only bits and fragments.

"Done.", I stated, to which I saw her visibly twitch.

I handed the form back to her and she took a quick glance over it.

"A-anoo?", she tried to get my attention.

"Hmm?", I hummed as I tilted my head.

"Y-you didn't fill out some of the boxes.", she mumbled.

"I have severe amnesia so I can't fill them out.", I stated.

"O-oh, okay!", she responded.

She's too jumpy, it's as if she just met a ghost. Poor girl, she may be a few years older than me but she's like a child.

"U-um, sir?", she mumbled, I noticed that she called me when I lost focused.

"Oh.", I thought as I realised as I was patting her head like a child.

"Sorry.", I took my hand off her head.

"U-um don't worry! I'll be taking these now, haha..", she mumbled as she began fast-walking away.

Before she exited through a door, she turned around and stated:

"You'll get your advisor in 2 days!", then she exited the door.

Now then, time to go to the dungeon. While I was exiting the Guild, I noticed people were whispering or muttering something. I raised an eyebrow and just proceeded to leave the establishment.

There's some things I want to do before entering the dungeon. I headed to the shopping district and looked for a certain pharmacy...

"Hmm...", I voiced out as I searched around while walking.

As I was searching around I bumped into someone.

"Ow.", I looked at who accidently headbutted me and I saw a brown haired chienthrope - a dog girl - with purple eyes.

"You okay?", I said while holding out my hand.

"Mhm. Yes.", she said as she took my hand and raised herself back onto two feet.

I picked up the box she dropped when she bumped into me and handed it back to her.

"Thanks.", she said with a nod.

"Mhm." I replied.

When I handed it back she continued going on her way. I looked around more, until I found it.

"Blue Pharmacy...", I murmured the store's name.

The pharmacy has good potions, however the owners are dead broke. Apparently they owe some familia lots of money, and that the owner is some idiot who gives free potions in his spare time. Well, according to rumours.

I entered the pharmacy, when I entered the bell on top of the door made a jingle noise which signalled my entry.

I took a quick look around and saw multiple bottles of different liquids. They all probably have different effects.

"Welcome~ welcome~!", a dark haired and dark eyed man who had a slight tinge of blue responded to the jingle.

I walked towards the man, I saw that he wore a black robe and a brown stole which reached past his shoulders.

"Do you have any weak healing potions?", I asked.

I would rather have weak healing potions because I don't plan on going farther than the fifth floor. You could call this as testing the waters.

"Oh, it's just weak healing potions~. Here take them for free~.", he handed me more than 20 potions, which made my eye twitch a little.

"I'll pay.", I said

"Oh, no you don't have to.", he spoke back.

"I will pay.", I argued back.

"You do-", before he was going to argue back, I smashed the table lightly and spoke slowly.

"I. Will. Pay.", I spoke slowly so it gets into his head a little.

I didn't see him shake in the slightest, instead he smiled even wider.

"Then please, do pay.", he spoke a little faster.

"How much is it?", I asked

A normal weak potion costs around 20 valis, he gave me 20 so it'll be 400 valis.

I reached into my pouch and gave him a bunch of coins.

"Thanks~.", he smiled.

I began to leave after I pocketed the potions, before I left I said something:

"Stop trying to give potions for free. You won't only cause trouble in the future, but you'll also cause trouble to those that surround you.", I spoke with a little glint in my eyes.

"...", the man didn't speak, seeing this I just sighed and proceeded to leave the establishment.

When I left I lightly bumped into the chienthrope again.

"Oh, sorry.", I said as I began walking away.

I sighed once again.

'What an idiot.'

I know I shouldn't have the need to get involved, but for some reason he reminds me of an old friend I probably had. I say 'probably' because I can't remember who it was.

I sighed once more and finally, I headed towards the dungeon.
